I’m giving this hotel 2 stars because while it is clean, the room service and cleaning staff were really nice, the front reception and concierge were absolutely inadequate in attending the guests. First, the concierge was almost useless when it came to helping us. They first neglected to let us know that the day we were planning to go into center city, it was international women’s day and huge, dangerous riots were common. We soon realized the entire city and locals knew this as most places were closed or boarded up, yet the concierge made no mention of this and let us (foreigners) go out into a dangerous situation. Next, when we asked how to get to the Chapultepec Castle, they led us down a path that after 20 minutes of walking, led us to a closed gate and forced us to walk back to the beginning just to have again locals to help us find where we were going. Incompetent to say the least. Second, we stayed at this hotel for a total of 3 days, and in these 72 hours, we had to get a new key 7 times. Everyday, our original keys would get deactivated and we’d be locked out. We informed the hotel every morning, afternoon, and evening about the issue, but nothing was resolved. Having to wait outside your room for 15 minutes late night for someone to AGAIN make a new key is not ideal. To make matters worse, our final day, when we were ready to head out to the airport, we again get locked out. We called down from our floors phone to the front desk five times over 15 minutes to let them know the issue, spoke to 4 different women at the front desk. All said they were sending someone up. Not until we went down ourselves, grabbed the manager and brought him upstairs with us, we’re we finally helped. Naturally we are late for the airport. The hotel then set up a car (not complimentary despite their fault for making us late) to take us to the airport. The estimated travel time to the airport is about 25 minutes, and even accounting for some unforeseen traffic, let’s say 35 minutes. Our driver, who the hotel claims had 30 years of experience, was not even able to follow his navigation. All four of us passengers got on our own phones to check the GPS, and told him multiple times where to make a right or left and he just kept refusing. Instead, he was taking us through traffic, and naturally, any guest would be furious as we were now about to miss our flight. After 45 minutes of the drive (now 20 minutes longer than it should have been), he took the wrong turn 3x, to only make our ETA 30 minutes later than it should’ve been. During this drive, we even called the concierge to speak to the driver since he wouldn’t listen to us, and he had the audacity to be talking badly about us and that he knew where he was going. Little did he know, we understood Spanish and the entire rude conversation. Luckily we made the flight, but by far this hotel, the staff, and the vendors they associate themselves really put the global name of the Intercontinental Hotels and IHG as a brand in horrible light.

The hotel is very well located and has amazing views to the city! And the park too. Still need more time but, the hotel check-in is at 3 PM. Not great for those who arrive really early. Amazing room too, and has 39 floors.

Older hotel. Rooms are small. Higher floors seem to be renovated. Difficult to get your room cleaned. Apparently you can't take pictures inside the property. Does not have a pool or spa. Security can be rude at times. Overall this is my least favorite intercontinental out of 5 others I've been to.

Very nice. Great experience and staff was helpful. The do have an English speaking staff. Money exchange on site as well. Rooms were great they were updated for me on the 12th floor. Wish I could have stayed longer. So much to explore in polanco. The entry and art exhibits were top class.

Regularly i receive great service, this time it was a bad experiencie, i was in a noisy bedroom 2207 then i was changed to 3618 as an upgrade, supposedly my luggage was supposed to be in my new room. I arrived to new room at night and no luggage... so i had to pick up luggage. I required special linens and beds werent prepared accordingly, My laundry was supposed to arrive in afternoon, and did not arrive until midnite when they found it. In other hand amazing views.

One of the best Hotels in Mexico City. Located in Polanco area. The staff is awesome, polite and very dedicated to all the needs that their customers may have. Bedrooms are nice and clean, with all the commodities that a five star hotel need to have. The restaurants are really really good, specially The Palm (great meat) and the Alfredo Di Roma (Italian Cuisine). One of the most important values of this hotel is the location. In terms of prices, Presidente is expensive, but in line with others five star hotels. When you want to have some services, you have to pay. I have been in this hotel many times and I recommend it.

Went for dinner at chapulín restaurant Wich can be better. The service took a little long though it wasn't that crowded, not reservation needed... Mexican recipes which I Love, ant-larva, the Mexican caviar, just Great. By the way sometimes the lobby serves as an art gallery, this time it housed Leonora Carrington artwork. I really enjoyed it.

It IS a beautiful hotel with breathtaking views. The service is excellent and prompt BUT if you encounter a problem you want to discuss there is no manager to talk to. I was moved twice.. first time because an alarm was activated every hour with a loud chirp.. and the hair dryer was broken. Second room.. the Nespresso machine was disconnected and the main shower head didn’t work. They ended offering me an upgraded room with an even better view. In that room everything worked just fine. All the rooms have a gadget to connect your tablet or iPhone.. that is.. a 30 pin jack if it happens you still use a phone that was prior to 2012.. I thought it was funny but honestly it shows that no one is paying attention..an outlet discontinued ten years ago??? Wow. The food offering is great with 5 restaurants to choose from. My favourite is Chapulin but also I had great simple food at Urbano.. I also tried room service and it was just perfect. At the end of my stay they put a very nice plate with delicious chocolates. Nice touch. THE ONLY HICKUP.. I reserved a taxi to pick us up at the airport as we arrived very late. I had the option to pay directly to the driver ($80 us.. I know) or to be added to my bill. I choose to pay directly which I did.. just to find out that they also charged me in my final bill. I emailed them and it was a disaster.. they questioned my claim and at the end gave the reason to the driver who doble dipped me. I had to email corporate just to get their attention. Never got my money back but the worse part was adding insult to the injury… so the lesson is DI NOT PAY DIRECTLY TO THE DRIVER WHO PICKS YOU UP AT THE AIRPORT..let them charge it to your room. Because of the poor experience and the lack of room maintenance deserves just the three stars..

The hotel is beautiful with fairly modern decor in the rooms. The views are fantastic. That said, service is hit or miss depending on who you get. Not on par with an international 5 star hotel from the service perspective (particularly check jn). Shout out to the Club level bar staff who was friendly and welcoming and the club had plenty of work space. Overall recommended.

Views are stunning! Staff is very kind. Room service was very fast. The only thing I didn't like that much is after we were done with our meal I called and was left on hold for 30 min on the phone just to ask them to come pick up the service table. Once they picked up the phone it took like 40 more min for someone to come :( still who showed up was very nice. Views are stunning

Remember, their check-in time is 1500. Most of the flights land in Mexico City early morning, so if your booking is not done correctly, you might have 12-9 hours to spend in the lobby. However, the staff is quite cooperative and they let me in 3 hours early. They have 6 restaurants, but none Halal. So ensure to order your vegetable by requesting them to cook it separately.

Intercontinental unworthy. Long lines for check-in, bars closed, small rooms and unfriendly front office staff. Pretend to be a luxury hotel but as a matter of fact they have a long way to go to be treated as such. Don’t waste your money here.

One of my go-to regular hotels in CDMX for visiting the Polanco area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The service is very welcoming upon arrival, and the food, beverage and service in the Club is excellent.

This hotel was absolutely amazing! All the staff was extremely attentive and very helpful. The food was also amazing. The rooms were very nice and well kept on a daily basis. The location is absolutely perfect and so convenient and safe to walk around. I would absolutely stay here again!! Fabulous hotel and great city!!

I stayed at the InterCon Mexico City for 5 nights in June and what a great experience! The rooms were gorgeous, and they look recently renovated. The restaurants and food were exceptional and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. I also love the location in the Polanco neighborhood as you can walk to coffee shops, restaurants and shops. Great experience and I will definitely go back!

This was the smallest room I have ever stayed in an intercontinental. Even though I was supposedly upgraded because of my Platinum Ambassador membership status. The shower was very confined and just a few cm from the toilet. Just very disappointed. I decided to only stay one night.

I was visiting CDMX and stayed at this hotel, which I thought was very good. Excellent attention from the staff, even when I arrived early, they allowed me to occupy my room before the time established in the reservation conditions. Good restaurants (El Chapulín highly recommended). The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. Very good location to walk to the nearby places (Chapultepec, Museum of Anthropology, Masaryk Street). The price seemed appropriate to the good service. Congratulations

I am very impressed with the concierge service that I have received even before I check in at the hotel. On the day that I made my reservation, I received a text message from Monica Sanchez, the hotel Chief Concierge, introducing herself and offering to answer any questions about my reservation and stay. She also sent a Google Maps link of the hotel location for my reference. This is the first time I go to Mexico City, so naturally I had a lot of questions that she has helped me with. In all of my years, staying in hotels, I have never received this level of attention and quality. I have had a pleasant experience and assurance even before my stay. I can’t wait to experience the Intercontinental Presidente in person. 👏👏👏👏

Very pleasant front desk staff: got me checked in and gave sufficient relevant information. Very good selection of restaurants - French, Italian, Mexican. I ate in the Mexican and had cochinita tacos which were excellent. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Club level (39th floor) had sufficient choice of food for breakfast and all good quality.

I stayed at the IC Presidente many years back and I decided to return on my latest trip to Mexico. I was very pleasantly impressed by the new lobby, the remodeled guest rooms, the quality of the restaurants and, especially, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff despite this being a very busy week for them. Excellent stay.

I've visited this hotel twice in the past year, and without a doubt, it's the best choice for me. I even stayed at the Hyatt next door once, but I found myself returning to the Presidente. The Presidente offers better restaurants, superior breakfast options, modern rooms, and beautifully updated bathrooms. It's simply the top choice for me!

Great location in polanco close to lots of nice restaurants. Rooms were well kept and nice and staff was helpful with questions. Great views too! Room service was okay, nothing special.

We were very impressed with this amazing space - the lobby has the most beautiful floral arrangements and the lobby bar had the best live band, complete with saxophone and electric guitar! Such a wonderful vibe - the drinks were strong too - we had equal parts of Don Julio, TopoChico with a spash of Lime juice. There is something so very great about these workers too - so many people were accommodating to us during our time in the lobby! ALSO, the art this lobby has in incredible - every couple of feet there was another geode like structure with never ending mirrors inside them! I had seen this sculptors work in Palm Spring but only one! Here in the lobby of Presidente Intercontinental they have an entire GARDEN of these things - some hung on walls and some freestanding strewn around the lobby itself. Its beautifully curated and I cannot to continue to explore these!

We dined here, at this Intercontinental Restaurant Chapulín, last Sunday. That night my friend got severe [!] food poisoning. As we ate exactly the same for the rest of the day, the dish he ate there - chicken with black mole sauce - has to be the cause of his illness. For a 5 star hotel like the Intercontinental, this is unacceptable. Before this review, I called the restaurant / hotel for their comment. The manager was off today and the first reaction was that it may have been an allergy and that the chicken was fresh. I was told to contact the manager, while I believe it not our issue, but the Hotel's. They should get in touch with me, not the other way around. After having 2 people on the line and waiting for 20 minutes, I hung up. Via Tripadvisor I saw a very comparable review from a while back. I hope this helps for the hotel to fix this. Even more: 2 other dishes I wanted to choose were not available. Also not nice and it closed at 22, which was not mentioned at the very formal reservation confirmation, so they were constantly taking away semi empty plates. In short, the overall experience apart from the issue was not great either.

One of the best hotels in Mexico City. Great location in Polanco, next to a lot of good restaurants and bars. Amazing and friendly staff. Beautiful views on Chapultepec and Auditorio Nacional. Outstanding!

This hotel is located in the Polanco area of town which is a very safe and upscale neighborhood. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The restaurants on property are very good. The rooms are a standard size with all the usual amenities.i highly recommend the InterContinental. The shoe shine stand outside the entrance does an amazing job for 50 pesos!!!!!! Will post more photos of the hotel on my next trip.

Stayed here for four nights and it was a very nice stay. The rooms were clean and very quiet, the shower was hot and powerful, house keeping was good and friendly and we had everything we needed. The breakfast was tasty with a selection of Mexican, continental and international options but it wasn't the largest/widest selection I've seen. The hotel is very well located for Polanco and Chapultepec but is a little way from Centro Histórico, although the tourist bus does leave from the National Auditorium just behind the hotel. By far the best thing is that there are some lovely restaurants within the hotel. We ate at the French and the Mexican restaurants and they were both fantastic. The only downside for me was that there was no pool at the hotel.

We had an amazing time at the InterContinental Presidente. Excellent location and easy access to all parts of Mexico City. Arriving from an early flight into Mexico City the concierge had arranged an early check in and we stayed in the Alberto Gironella suite. The service and friendliness was superb and all tours and guides can be arranged through the hotel. Our suite had a glass enclosed box shower with built in steam room in the bedroom and the views across Chapultepec Park were amazing. Large lobby area with stunning changing artwork and a great selection of different restaurants and cafes. One of our favourite stays in a hotel. Can't wait to go back.

My go to hotel when in CDMX! The location makes it a great starting point for any side trips. And the hotel is packed with great food choices, not typical "hotel food" but world class restaurants

Stayed here twice, horrible experience with their services & staff. Their phones are terrible, can rarely ever get through, and their calls drop during transfers. Most of all, I came back to my room left open during the stay. Had my personal belongings all in there with the door open all evening for hours after the staff had cleaned it. The staff/management took bo responsibility for it at all. Overall had a really poor experience with management. Otherwise it’s a great location, rooms, restaurants, conference rooms, etc. are all pretty solid.

Make sure to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This web site will compare countless booking websites and usually will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in this area. I've been staying here for years. If you choose this place you will love it I'm sure! This hotel was excellent! We were able to walk everywhere in Polanco and we would definitely stay here again if we come back to Mexico City. A ton of great restaurants in the hotel, great gym and nice staff. The concierge was great in assisting a transfer to another city.

Great hotel. Nicely located in the heart of Mexico City downtown. Great variety in food. Warm service. Concierge was extremely helpful.

It's a nice hotel. It has no pool or spa included in the price, so a suprise it was a 5*. Very good service, aside from a few hiccups. Learn the word "disculpa" they use it a lot in that hotel.

  • 4/5 Beatriz G. 9 months ago on Google
Rooms were amazing, pillows super comfortable... towel are a bit old and tough (it's my only complaint about the room). Views are amazing and I love the panoramic window overseeing the city. Service is good, but it's rather slow, however everyone pitches in to help if needed. Location is great in the middle of everywhere. Nice places surrounding the area and the park on the back of the hotel is really nice.
