We stay at Hampton Inn & suites all over the continent. This Hampton Inn, in Mexico City, was exactly what you would expect from a Hampton Inn. The rooms and suites are set up the same, they have free breakfast in the lobby, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I will say that the air conditioner in our room did not get as cold as we would have liked it, but we are from Texas. We like our hotel rooms really cold during the summer. On the other hand Mexico City in June is not very hot outdoors. This is the only reason we are giving Hampton Inn in Mexico City four stars. The room just never got as cold as we believe it should have. The breakfast was great, they served scrambled eggs with cheese, waffles, bacon, all of the American breakfast food you would expect. They also served traditional Mexican breakfast food items like wonderful pastries, refried beans, different chili sauces with corn chips, and a variety of fruits, papaya is not one we usually see in the states. The front desk staff spoke Spanish and a lot of English. They were able to help us by calling and arranging a taxi cab at 8 am. We recommend Hampton Inn!

Beautiful hotel and really helpful staff. I was able to get a room on the top floor which was large and had some beautiful large windows. Only complaint I have was not the fault of the hotel itself, but the hostel next door had some karaoke going on on their rooftop bar that went until about 11pm, which wasn't too bad (other than some off key singers ruining some classics haha), but I booked my stay to have a quiet place to rest before a 6am flight. So just fair warning to anyone who needs to sleep early to either book a room on the other side or bring earplugs!

Our first time here and we were loving the idea of being in Centro Historico. The shower head in our room, just spews water out all over, we can’t regulate it even though it had numerous settings, the shower door is so cheap. Our window has some kind of plastic on it that we can’t see out, we believe there must be a wall out of our window. The wallpaper going down the walls, are fraying. The coffee machine has nowhere to plug it in, if you want coffee in the room, you have to hold the coffee machine up while it is brewing your coffee. The smart TV isn’t set up to access Netflix or YouTube. All in all, stay away, it is not a cheap hotel, but our room looks like we should be paying way less than what they are asking. Horrible, don’t stay here!

The building is beautiful and the location is excellent. Our issue involved maintenance and customer service. The air conditioner was out in the room, but the tech assured us it just took time. We left for the evening and returned to a very hot room with no AC. Instead of changing our room, they brought a fan and suggested we leave the door open. There were plenty of available rooms (you can tell because the sanitization seal was still on the doors), but they would not change the room to one with functioning AC. When asked for the manager on duty, they said he only works until 5pm. We asked to have him call us, yet three days later we haven’t heard back. Being Hilton Diamond members, we expected better. We are taking it up with Hilton since this property does not respond.

Great location, very close to the Zocalo and Palace. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The area is very busy, so there is street noise most of the time, plus the traffic police REALLY like using their whistles. Definitely a good choice at a great price.

Absolutely wonderful hotel! The room was clean, the location was prime, the view was lovely, and the customer service was outstanding. And all for a very reasonable rate. You can't go wrong here!

This was a nice no nonsense hotel in the middle of the historic center. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint was the breakfast wasn't very good at all, but there's so much cheap great food around Mexico City that was hardly a problem for us. The hotel staff called us as requested right at 0400 for the 0430 taxi they arranged for us at the airport. Service was really top notch and the price was great for a Hilton property. Would stay again!

Our 2nd time. We loved it so much the 1st time we went back. The service is outstanding. Everyone is friendly. The hotel is immaculate and smells sooo good and fresh. The rooms are a little small, but nice. And the breakfast buffet that's included is delicious.

What I'm rating is the fact that the front desk never informed us that there was a marathon with 30,000 people in the area. I wish we had been given the opportunity to stay elsewhere. The location was great, but not when streets are being blocked and you can't get Ubers or taxi's nearby . Yes, they put a letter under our door the night before, but how would that have helped any of their guests at that time. We literally were stuck. We bought a hop on hop off bus tour and couldn't get on because of all the blocked streets. They told us about the Taylor Swift concert, but that had no impact on our visit. The hotel lobby was noisy and busy.

4 stars for the location but services and amenities are sub-par. I hope they update the property as I see a lot of potential in the building. Some rooms didn't have working AC. All hotel employees were very nice and welcoming though. Housekeeping is excellent. The free breakfast was a nice touch. Walking distance around the historic district. Would consider staying here again but might check out other nicer properties around Mexico City if they don't consider updating the premises.

Every part of the hotel was perfect, and the location was very close to Zócalo, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mercado Merced, shopping, and many great restaurants. My wonderful experience started when Zulma and her colleague (I'm so sorry I forgot her name) checked me in late at night. The room was modern and comfortable. The wifi, hot water, room safe, and a/c worked perfectly. The breakfast was varied each day and included some interesting alternatives: hot steamed vegetables, refried beans, banana-granola dessert, mole sauce, chilaquiles, etc. I really appreciated that variety. (If you just want the basic toast/ eggs/ yogurt/ juice, they offered that as well.) My room was right next to a noisy ice machine. BUT...this hotel shuts off the ice machine each night. I really appreciate the fact that these hoteliers know how to anticipate a guest's needs. I slept very well. The front desk and front door staff were wonderful, and they are a big part of my happy experience. I will always stay here when I am in CD MX!! 100% satisfied 😁 Thank you!!

One of the hardest reviews. Location and concierge are great but the rest is questionable. Pros and cons are following. (-) most of the rooms don’t have window and we changed couple to find one with window. Last one we picked stinked/smelled terrible by the food they cooked for breakfast. You need to tell them if you need room cleaning. Rooms are small and relatively older. Breakfast was poor but you can buy pastries from bakeries around to make it richer. The breakfast room is very small and tables are always full. Value for money is not high. (+) 5 stars to the concierge (Edgar and Alex) both are great and super helpful. They made our stay worthy. Location of the hotel is awesome. Close to all important places and great to experience the locals. Also the driver we scheduled to go to Teotihuacan (recommended by Edgar) who is Ankel was great. Don’t pay for tours who bring you to shopping malls etc, just rent the bus with driver, very convenient, safe, clean and affordable and can see both teotihuacan and basilica in 6 hours.

Great location though very noisy too, but expected due to its proximity to the zocalo. Breakfast was great. I expected American continental breakfast (fruit, coffee and muffins) But no, we got almost a complete breakfast. And the service was great. I would stay here again.

We booked for 3 nights and we had an excellent time. The hotel was clean, great customer service and the breakfast was good. A plus was that it was close to everything. Lastly, it was a very comfortable bed and pillow.

A great hotel. Neat and tidy; unfussy. All the comforts of a Hampton Inn with friendly front desk staff. Breakfast is Mexican with some American staples- waffle machine, fruits, pastries. Good location for the Plaza de la constitucion. Taxis stop right outside no problem making getting around easy.

The location in the Centro storico cannot be better. Room had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Do not expect any view from the room: Windows are most often towards a wall (in the lowest room category only towards the inner courtyard) and cannot be opened. However, the rooms are very good for the price. Breakfast is acceptable. Martin at the concierge was extremely friendly and helpful with a lot of good tips where to eat etc. - thank you!

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your resort. This site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for years. If you decide to stay here you won't regret it. Extremely clean hotel, friendly staff, good location in the Centro. Cool old building with beautiful stained glass ceiling. Breakfasts have a great variety. We are glad we reserved a king suite. Would definitely stay here again.

THis is a great place with great staff, and a wonderfully varied breakfast buffet. The rooms do need some maintenance. The thermostat in my room, when I stayed there last month, did not work, and it still has not been fixed (I somehow got the same room). The location is really great. I highly recommend this place.

Nice hotel, historic, and in a good location. The restaurant is nice and convenient with "safe" options for those who are not gastrointestinally adventurous. Otherwise, a two block walk takes you to the cathedral and plenty of street vendors and restaurants to try.

This location claims ADA accessibility which is a direct misrepresentation. We based and paid for international travel from the US for 3 persons including our wheelchair bound father for 11 days based on the information on the website. The website under the direct control of the hotel clearly indicates ADA compliance in several locations and claims accessible entries. Initially they hotel claimed they are restricted by historical status but make ADA claims none the less. This had considerable impact on our vacation and the hotel management offers nothing. Beware the misrepresentation—this hotel does not comply with ADA and is not accessibly challenged friendly. Hotels in the area were overbooked or 3 times normal cost due to the Mexican Independence holiday which we could not support outside the US. Further: the initial room we were given had a shower and safe not properly functioning. We continually had to request simple room items such as drinking water, glasses, soap and towels for 3 persons. We went without proper shampoo and conditioner for 2 days even though housecleaning did visit. This location is not up to the Hilton standard US or otherwise and the in site manager became belligerent when we complained about the risk to our Father. We fully intend to report this to the Hilton brand and take other actions for the losses sustained. We will be posting this to every travel review we can find to inform other travelers.

Nice clean rooms. Good breakfast. Great location. Has two good restaurants connected to the main lobby. Is within walking distance of just about everything we needed.

  • 1/5 John G. 6 months ago on Google
Initially assigned me a room that was occupied, so when I entered I had access to another guest’s belongings (had I entered). Noisy room due to paper-thin old windows. I can hear and discern every conversation on the street. Room smells musty and couch in the “suite” is falling apart. Three calls to maintenance during a stay due to a safe that beeped constantly and burnt out light bulbs. Housekeeping didn’t pick up laundry I left next to door so I get to wear dirty clothes. All of this with Gold status, I can only imagine what new guests get.

We really didn't want to do a chain hotel for our visit, but the location and price were to good to pass up! Our room was very clean and comfy, the housekeeper who was assigned to our floor "Isela," was a delight and took care of everything. We had clean towels every day, she bought us non-allergenic pillows when I asked and she.made sure we had two free bottles of water everyday. The hotel provided free washer and dryers and sold soap if you needed it. The clerk up front and the doorman where most helpfull. The 2 restaurants attached to the hotel were awesome! Try the Mole' at Gabaratos, and the shrimp cocktail at Fishers! We will he coming back!

Our recent stay at the Hilton left us with mixed feelings. Let's start with the less-than-ideal aspects. The rooms, for a Hilton hotel, were disappointingly small and in need of some much-needed repairs. A notable issue during our stay was the malfunctioning light switches in our room, which became quite inconvenient. It's disheartening when such basic amenities aren't up to par. In addition to these room-related issues, it's worth noting that during our stay at the Hilton, we also encountered problems with the ice maker, which was out of service on multiple floors. This inconvenience further contributed to our less-than-ideal experience at the hotel. However, the silver lining here is undoubtedly the location. If you're looking for a hotel that's conveniently located near the Zócalo and Cathedral, this Hilton hotel checks that box perfectly. The proximity to these iconic landmarks made exploring the city a breeze, and it was undoubtedly the primary reason we chose to stay here. In conclusion, our stay at the Hilton left us with mixed feelings. While the room size, maintenance issues, and ice maker troubles were a letdown, the unbeatable location near the Zócalo and Cathedral could be a significant draw for travelers who prioritize convenience over room quality. We expected more from a Hilton, but it's ultimately a decent choice if location is your top priority. When considering your stay, it's essential to factor in these inconveniences, including the non-functional ice makers, to make an informed decision about whether this hotel aligns with your expectations and needs.

Great place in the heart of the Centro Historico. Walking distance to important sites. Traffic in the area is the downside - hard to get into the area and sometimes streets around the hotel are closed at random.

Great location, very friendly & accommodating staff, nice sized rooms. The quality and variety of the buffet food was decent. It was a nice stay overall. I would definitely recommend it

Good location especially for the historical city centre. Rooms were ok, but rather showing it's age. Takes too long and wasteful of water while trying to get warm water out from the shower. Breakfast offering are ok better then in the US.

I am so disappointed by the Hampton downtowns . After one hour spent in my Uber this morning coming from airport . I had to leave the car because of terrible traffic( lots of cars and pollution )very central and had to walk 30 minutes to get to the hotel. I was given a room with no window overseeing the outside but just a tinted glass with light shining g thru . The gym is a joke .it is two treadmills and that’s it. There is no pool. I ask to extend my stay tomorrow to 5 PM line the hiltons authorized with an extra fee of $35 and they refused. They say I had to check out at 1 PM even if I was willing to pay an extended stay that normally the Hilton should authorize Any other chains do it . I paid over $100 a night which nobody can get me the Barcelo hotel or the meridian, which a way upscale hotel then the Hampton. The Hampton’s is rundown , small inside and need a refurbishing or make over . Next time I come back to Mexico City I will check in a better Hotel then the Hampton, like the Barcelo or the Meridien . I do not recommend the Hampton’s .

I'm truly impressed with this Hampton. Zelma and the entire staff went the extra mile to assist us. In a country where it often feels like people only care about tips, this place embodies the true Hilton brand. Thank you again, Hilton, for your exceptional service.

The hotel is very nice, centric, affordable and people is very nice. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because the toilet wasn't clean. Hope next time the cleaning aspect is just perfect.

The location is perfect. But there was a vibration noise all night. I stayed here 4 days. Also there is no room service. But there is two restaurants in the hotel. They cleaned everyday. Breakfast was good. For the price and location I’d definitely recommend this hotel. (The hot water wasn’t hot enough at times)

The location is just fantastic in the historico centro. From check in throughout our ten days we were treated very well by top front desk staff, concierge and bellmen, and our upgraded room was very clean. They served a decent daily breakfast, and two nice outside restaurants with access from the lobby where you could dine in or order to your room for lunch and dinner. We loved our both our quiet and clean room and our time in Mexico City.

A gem in the middle of Mexico City. A must stay if your priority is comfort at reasonable prices, and able to get to your meetings quickly and conveniently. A business hotel in every sense with the amenities and service that are in line with your expectations while not demanding prices that will dent your budget permanently.

It's a good place to stay if you're into historical architectures and the like. You can basically walk to nearby historical and culturally important destinations from this hotel. The hotel provides breakfast that is reasonably filling for most of us. Good service, including the concierge (we dealt mostly with Edgar). Our room on the 5th floor wasn't big but it met our needs.

  • 3/5 Kyle B. 2 years ago on Google
Good location to be near Historic City Center, very friendly & helpful staff, and beautiful atrium ceiling. Rooms are varied in sizes and potentially in features as well. My room ended up on the smaller side, also needed better weather proofing and suffered from persistent road + crowd noise, cold drafts at night, and sewage smell from the street. Some rooms won't have these issues as they have no exterior windows - only Atrium windows. Other rooms may vary.

  • 5/5 Jack R. 2 years ago on Google
From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and helpful. The two queen beds in our room were of good quality. It's an older building, but one with style and charm. The property is kept very clean. The hotel is perfect location for a day or two of exploring central Mexico City.

  • 5/5 Daniel N. 2 years ago on Google
Surprisingly good for a Hampton - Generally I associate Hampton hotels with newly build, concrete buildings that are clear and utilitarian. This hotel is a classic building with beautiful interior. I had made a small mistake with the booking details, but this was resolved directly during check-in. Booked a suite room, which had a good working desk. The breakfast is good, and you can do free laundry as well. The location is in the middle of old town, this does mean there is noise all night and you'll likely need earplugs. I'd book again!

  • 5/5 Chuck W. 2 years ago on Google
Great location in the Historical District. Please communicate what your wishes maybe, the Concierge certainly arranged the best in a restaurant, a day guide and a "once-in-life-time" balloon ride with breakfast and entertainment. Convenient drugstore, next door and a restaurant on each side of the lobby.

  • 5/5 Blandyna W. 1 year ago on Google
Very handy location close to the main square, and close to pharmacies should medication be needed. The second floor interior room was a bit noisy at breakfast time, but we were moved to the fourth floor which was much quieter. I always appreciate it when the hand sink is separate from the shower/toilet area. Selection of fruits, cereals, breads, yogurts, cooked vegetables, sausages, bacon and self-cook waffles for breakfast, some of which rotated during our 6-day stay. The elevator and rooms were clean, as were the escape stairs. I always check these out, and they were well-lit and easily wide enough to accommodate 2 or 3 people at a time in an emergency. The gym was well equipped with free weights, a bike, treadmill and elliptical, and was very clean. I also appreciated the free laundry machines. We were surprised, though, to only be provided with one coffee pod each morning for 2 guests in the room. Who got to go downstairs to the dining room to get one coffee was the daily question.

After staying here for a week, we will definitely be coming back. Incredible customer service. The staff was very kind and friendly. Our room was clean and had a beautiful view. Beds are SO comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect. Noise wasn’t bad for being in the city. Thank you!

We stayed in the suites and they can comfortably fit 6 people with the sofa bed in the living room. Cleaning was done daily. The service we received all thought our stay was friendly. If we had any issues they were quickly addressed. They have a washer and dryer and sell you soap at the front desk for 20 pesos. They had breakfast every morning and it was just like the breakfast in the USA. 2 blocks from the zocalo. I would definitely recommend foreigners staying in this area.

Really enjoyed my two night stay here. It's in a great part of town and just a short walk to the main square. There are shops and restaurants everywhere surrounding the hotel. There is a pharmacy right next door for water, etc. The Uber from the airport was $11. The breakfast was very good. They had eggs, little burritos with ham and cheese, black bean puree, salsa, mashed potatoes, tortillas with beans and cheese, fruits, vegetables, scrambled eggs, cheese, yogurt, breads, good coffee, juice. They had different items both days. The queen suite with 2 beds was spacious and had a safe, coffee/tea, hair dryer, sitting room with pull-out couch, 2 tv's, microwave, fridge, closet. Would be great for a small family. My room, 216, was on the street out front and had a small balcony so you could stand and look down on the bustling activity below. It was a little loud but I slept fine with earplugs. The price for the room was $70/night during my early February stay; great deal. The room could use a little sprucing up so don't expect anything too fancy but it was clean. If I were the manager I would arrange for little things like caulking around tub, peeling wallpaper, peeling stickers on bathroom mirror to be fixed. The furniture was a little worn, especially the couch, but during these covid times I'd imagine the hotel hasn't brought in the income necessary to make improvements. I would definitely still recommend staying here. The pros: -Excellent location -Good staff -2-queen suite was spacious -Comfortable bed -Beautiful common area -Great breakfast -Reasonable price Cons -Room could use a little sprucing up -Shower didn't engage so had to use tub

A great little hotel in the heart of it all. The rooms are a bit dated but they are clean and that matters most to me. I cant say enough great things about the staff, everyone was extremely kind, helpful, and patient. The continental breakfast is a nice touch, they try to offer a few different things each day. If you're looking for a good central location, this is it. I will be staying here again!
