Today
was
one
of
the
worst
experiences
I’ve
had
at
the
embassy.
The
interview
went
well
but
now
they
have
instituted
a
new
payment
for
work
visas,
which
is
quite
hefty,
but
that
is
not
my
main
complaint.
My
issue
today
was
that
it
took
3
hours
“sitting”
in
line
to
make
my
payment
at
the
cashier.
There
were
approximately
100
people
in
front
of
me
and
only
one
person
taking
payments
one
by
one
in
cash
or
via
a
legacy
payment
system
that
only
accepted
the
credit
card
magnetic
strip.
Of
course,
this
prompted
a
series
of
issues
with
people
who
had
to
leave
the
embassy
and
come
back,
via
complicated
security
screening,
to
bring
cash
with
them
because
the
embassy
refused
to
install
a
decent
POS
system
that
would
work
with
all
banks
and
card
issuers.
More
than
inconvenient,
this
embassy
frankly
feels
humiliating
and
dehumanizing.
Note
that
cell
phones
are
not
allowed
inside.
So
my
ordeal
today
meant
5
hours
of
being
incommunicated,
unable
to
work,
unable
to
attend
family
matters,
of
which
at
least
3
hours
were
completely
unjustified
and
due
to
organizational
matters.
There’s
not
even
a
working
clock
inside!
Nobody
knew
if
they
were
running
late
or
needed
to
fill
again
their
parquimetro.
The
security
officers
are
also
not
very
kind
and
the
CAS
employees
barely
can
handle
the
amount
of
people
inside
this
facility.
I
also
noted
that
the
egress
route
plans
posted
on
the
wall
did
not
match
the
interior
of
the
facility
and
placement
of
waiting
areas,
making
the
building
potentially
hazardous.
The
United
States
can
certainly
do
a
better
effort
of
treating
nationals
from
their
number
one
trade
partner
in
a
worthy
way.
This
building
represents
them
and
their
policy
towards
Mexico.
Gone
are
the
days
when
ambassador
Chris
would
respond
to
applicant
questions
via
Twitter.
This
time
they
even
rescheduled
my
appointment
without
notice
a
few
days
in
advance.
Without
regard
of
any
travel
plans
or
expenses
I
may
have
already
incurred
in.
Thanks
