Had a really nice visit to this new restaurant. The ambience is chill and the food delicious. The chef sent us a complimentary appetizer that had so much flavor you could hardly tell it was vegetarian. A soft warm fresh and crunchy bite. I had the lemon ginger margarita that paired perfectly with the dish. Friendly staff and welcoming chef. Will go again and definitely recommend a visit.

Food was amazing, staff was incredibly friendly. The Chef came out personally and gave recommendations. A must have in Santo Domingo. Staff speaks English Spanish and French.

NOT A TOURIST TRAP. We visited for lunch and the place was almost empty. It is in the colonial zone where most restaurants are tourist traps. But here you can speak to the chef about the food before he prepares it and the food is amazing! The atmosphere is a small old building with a very comfortable courtyard. It was probably a very nice residence at one time. We were very pleased with this choice. I can't say enough.

Delicious food! We just had lunch there and everything was so good. Especially the fish tacos and the ceviche was so fresh and tasty! The staff is super friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere with a cute little patio.

Best food we had all trip in the DR. If you want Caribbean food elevated, go here. Chef David was amazing to talk with and we had him send over three dishes he recommended. Did not disappoint!

We had a great time last night. Thanks for opening our eyes to fresh local food! I highly recommend the goat dish. Incredibly flavorful. It'll change your mind on eating goat!

Friendly staff, a charming atmosphere and great drinks and food. Chef Dave came out to take our order and shared the inspiration of all the various dishes (Haitian, Caribbean and local). We’ve been in the DR for only a few hours and ready to come back here! The mojito and local punch were delicious, hand crafted cocktails.

Amazing restaurant. Really hard to find in the colonial zone of Santo Domingo where almost everything became a touristic trap. The atmosphere of this place is beautiful with great music in the background. Food was beyond the expectations. The chef makes sure you will be happy. Really hope to come back one day.

During our casual exploration of the area, my wife and I stumbled upon this charming spot. Chef David greeted us warmly and shared some valuable insights about both the menu and the city. With his suggestions, we tried three dishes that turned out to be absolutely fantastic. Surprisingly, the crab cake dish he recommended won me over, despite not usually being a fan. It was, without a doubt, the highlight of our vacation dining. What made the visit even more memorable was that it was the first place to authentically showcase Caribbean cuisine's vibrant flavors. This unique aspect added an extra layer of enjoyment to our culinary journey. If you happen to be around, I definitely suggest dropping by for some great drinks and delicious food.

One of the most beautiful resteraunts I have been to. Every corner reveals another pleasure for the eyes. I ordered the pumpkin soup and the pirir piri chicken. The soup was delicious bit was missing a drizzle of creme fraiche. The chicken however was dry. Service was good. I would come back again just to enjoy the courtyard again. A few tweaks and this has the makings of a all star resteraunt. Note there is construction on this street but the resteraunt is still accessible along the sidewalk.

I liked the concept of the restaurant and tried it out when in SD. It’s got a very nice bohemian flair. The service was attentive, an English menu would be nice. Food was well prepared, nice presented, perhaps a pinch of salt too much. Overall a good experience and I hope more guests will try it out!

This little restaurant in the heart of the Colonial District was the highlight of my trip. The place was clean, and the outdoor area out back was very relaxing. I ate there three times for lunch and dinner, and each time, the food was incredible. I had fish, goat, and chicken. Every time, it was made to order and the meat was tender and juicy. The waitstaff were nice and courteous, and chef David was a pleasure to meet. Definitely gonna stop by again if I ever find myself in Santo Domingo.

This hidden restaurant is incredible! My husband and I are foodies, and we visited Kay Chef’s two nights in a row for dinner. It’s located on a small side street on Santo Domingo, but is well worth leaving the beaten path. Chef and the full service staff are thoughtful, kind, and welcoming. Enjoy a quiet night of the best food in Santo Domingo on your next trip!

A Delightful Culinary Experience I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kay Chef Restaurant RD located in the heart of Zona Colonial. The menu at Kay Chef RD was an absolute culinary delight. It featured a diverse selection of dishes that beautifully combined traditional flavors with innovative techniques. The presentation was exquisite, and the flavors were perfectly balanced, leaving me craving each delectable bite. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring a satisfying and fulfilling meal. I wholeheartedly recommend Kay Chef RD to anyone in Dominican Republic.

A really great find. More Haitian style food and it was delicious. Jerk pork had amazing flavor, just a bit over cooked but still amazing. I forget what root/potato was underneath but it was incredible. Even the small, chilled salad had a surprisingly outstanding seasoning. The burger was WAY bigger than expected. The menu didn’t mention an egg (I would have loved that but my wife has an intolerance-a simple take it off was fine). She loved the burger and fries. We had a special guest join us for our meal. He was so friendly and talkative. I would come back just to visit him but the food is so good, I would return regardless.

This place is definitely a must visit. The flavors are explosive. I suggest the ceviche and the accra to start. Then have some griot/ chicharon. Oooh and a passion fruit mojito! They have a beautiful backyard that you can have a group outing or a cozy tête a tete dinner. I imagine having a nice cocktail party there… sorry my imagination got the best of me! Go visit and tell me if you dont feel the same!

Highly recommend coming here. The owner is super friendly and his food is delicious. Tried multiple appetizers and entrees and everything was great. Had the conch/acra to start and had to order more. For entree I got the the fish tacos and also the Kabrit. Both were amazing and tasty.

The food was interesting without being anything spectacular. The service was friendly and the meals arrived just when they should. Some of the service team were not very familiar with the wines and menu, not a good sign. The wine list was limited, several options were missing. Not many people in, consequently the atmosphere was lacking. Overall, it's a reasonable experience but not one that will live long in the memory.

Great host and very nice atmosphere. The owner is friendly, the prices are a bit high but it is worth it. I will be back, definitely great for Haitian people to be present in the DR
