We took our kids here on their bikes. Good open spaces with a fantastic family adventure park. Lots of history and free entry to the mining museum.

This is the state of a bin in a Children's play park. Used nappies etc on the floor. Pictures speak for themselves. This was like this all day on Monday after the fair had been over the weekend & at the end of the working day at 5pm it was still left there after the staff had been in for the day. Absolutely disgusting.

Visited late afternoon 4pm Saturday with the intention of visiting the visitor centre whilst the kids filled their boots on the well reviewed playground. Pity that the centre was shut at this time. Yes the playground was pretty good, the Dispora Gardens were ok for a quick stroll through also.

We visited with two children in wheelchairs. We found the site to be mostly accessible to us. There is accessible parking in a separate car park close to the main site. The main site has level access, but there is a lot of loose gravel and old tram tracks which were harder to push over. My son had fun aligning his chair with the rails and pretending to be a train! There was an accessible toilet in the cafe, although I didn't see it myself. We ate in the Red River Cafe, on site, which was excellent- friendly staff, a great atmosphere and good food. The heritage site itself was interesting but, when we visited, most of it was closed due to staff shortages caused by COVID-19.

We visited the Wheal Play softplay on a rainy Friday afternoon. Booked online but you don't have to. It's quite small but my nearly 4 year old loved it and it kept him entertained for nearly 2 hours. It was very clean and fairly quiet. There is a cafe serving drinks and some snacks but it's very basic and could be better. Overall a good find for a rainy day.

Well-preserved mining buildings are present at this center, which are aesthetically pleasing and have displays inside that are accompanied by factual information. There is a sufficient system for going to different rooms in the buildings, as they have a clear pathway that shows which direction to proceed in. In the outside area, there is a garden that has some unique trees and plants while accompanied by a smooth pond.

Great place to spend a few hours. Lovely gardens to walk round. A good player area for children. Red river cafe is great serving food and drinks and has some interesting old mining machinery scattered around the cafe. There is a museum of mining and other businesses here.

honestly a bit of a surreal experience, it was educational and interesting for the most part but the mannequins were lowkey scary. they had a restaurant which we only stopped by for desserts but the sundaes were great, and they also had little surrounding shops so we went to the crystal shop.

Very interesting little gem of a museum although the entrance via a children's indoor play is a bit odd. Free to enter and have a walk around, gives a good history of Cornish mining and a vision of the future. We very nearly missed this after searching for Cornish mines and history this never seemed to come up, only happened to find it as we were nearby and the Red River Café on site had cream teas. Highly recommended the Red River Café too, the cream teas were delicious, with ample cream and jam 👌

I love Heartlands. Went to give blood today but it's a lovely place to visit and I often go there with family and friends. The gardens are lovely and my grand daughter has her birthday party there every year.. We also got married there in 2015 A very happy memory

Excellent place to spend 2 or 3 hours, very informative visitors centre with a great park to walk around, all free. Also a lovely cafe where you can have a drink and a bite to eat.

Best kept secret in Cornwall. FREE ENTRY may have to pay for parking. Gardens, BIG kids play area, museum and licenced restaurant! Nice place to visit and be informed about mining history. Highly recommended day out. Also very popular for weddings.

Lovely quiet area, great for a saunter around. Wonderful places hidden in the garden, where you can take in the atmosphere and grab a quick bite. Shame about the teenagers messing about in the water and filling the air with loud bass music. Red River cafe is a great place, also dog friendly which is always a bonus. Highly recommended.

It's a nice area to go and see etc, has a small playground for kids to let of steam with climbing frames etc, also has a nice sized area to walk your dog as well, you do get a few mouthy grown up teens but you get that everywhere nowadays, it has a pay and display car park but you might as well use the local supermarket car parks as they are free but remember that you might only have 2-3 hours to park there! The kids adventure park needs a bit of a tidy up and unfortunately the bit at the back seems to be a public toilet so I won't let my grandson play around that part. It was good to see more young families at the park and all the kids playing together as our grandson really enjoyed himself.

Went to the softplay here. It was our first time to one, the receptionist was very nice and constantly picking up toys! She always had a smile. There was a few big kids in the baby section who were over 4 that played very rough so we had to either act as a human shield to our 7 month old or stay out until they finished. Overall it was great and my little one enjoyed crawling and playing. Even interacting to other kids! Unlimited hot drinks for £3 and good changing facilities.

On this occasion I visited to see the official opening of the Forest for Cornwall display/exhibition and a ceremonial tree planting (Red Alder) for the launch of the project called a Forest for Cornwall (1st Dec 22). Heartlands celebrates Cornwall's mining heritage and culture, it also has a children's playground, gardens and water feature, along with a carpark close by, a cafe and exhibition space.

Great for a family afternoon. Nice restaurant, interesting history and machines and a great children's park.... And the best bit..... It's free, apart from the car park that is. Really enjoyed the food and service in the restaurant as well. They even do vegan.

Fantastic adventure park for the kids with nearby Red River cafe very good for a quick snack & coffee or a longer lunch. Gardens are also very interesting with a variety of plant life and historical connections.

Lovely free day out. Great park for children with sandpit climbing ropes and slides, split into age related areas and then quiet garden with lots of seating and large fish pond. There is a cafe on site or plenty of picnic benches if you take your own. There is a large grass area where dogs can be walked or kids can plan football and fly kites. There is pay parking on site or you can park in the streets a bit further away and have a five minute walk to the area. There are free toilets (although a bit if a distance 5 mins from the park if your children tell you with seconds to spare). Fantastic few hours to be had here for toddlers to early teens. However outside so good weather needed.

Fabulous time at the Sarcoma UK charity day at Heartlands Camborne on Saturday 13th August. The Ukuhayles enjoyed playing an hours set for the cause what more could you want. Very sunny and hot but lots of cash raised for a great cause, well done everyone 👍 😀
