The atmosphere was very nice. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. 11/10 would rinse my life savings there again.

Style over substance. Service and ambience nice but the meal is literally worth two thirds of what is charged at absolute most and that would include an additional service charge. The building and decor are attractive however there are similar experiences at better value in the surrounding area. Three courses already £58.50 before the surcharge of £12 for a rib eye and an additional £5.50 for frozen chips. Food fine but not memorable; better tasting meals elsewhere in Bromley alone. My maths; subtract a £10 soup and a £10 mousse (being generous with my estimates on these prices) from the £58.50 then add the £12 steak surcharge and you've got yourself a £50 rib eye. No sides, no salad. You don't find these prices at specialised steak restaurants in central London for the cut and size of the meat. Best part of £12 for a pint of lager. I will happily pay these prices for meals that are memorable and outstanding; this occasion was not. Minor, Insignificant difference in produce quality to Miller and Carter or Havet only Chapter One has less choice and 2 to 3 times the cost. Needless to say we won't be rushing back.

First time last night, thought I'd try after always heard good things from people. And usually go for partners birthday meal into London and pick a Michelin restaurant. I have to say the food & service was excellent Karolina was very helpful. Didn't feel rushed, some restaurants do. Better than some Michelin star restaurants I've been too and the food and value for money was worth it would definitely visit again.

A top-class dining experience. We went to Chapter one to celebrate our engagement with friends who had travelled down to London. We wanted to go somewhere special and it was the first time for all of us eating at the restaurant. We were all blown away with the service and fine food. All of the staff really looked after us and it made the evening very special. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. If you’re looking to go out somewhere for a memorable evening I would highly recommend this place.

Exceptional food, amazing wine list which, while pricey was fair for the quality and range. The service was perfectly executed and could not be faulted.

I celebrated my birthday this evening in this gorgeous place. I am glad to say that we had a incredible evening and the place was no doubt one of the reasons for the successful meeting. The waiters contributed in a splendid style, the meals were yummy and my friends were very delighted. We shall no dout return for more joyful events. thanks very much.

The French lady who answered the call for appointment was amazing. Given high hopes after reading about the good food and service. Food was lovely. The person who welcomed us at the door was great. However, let down by the overall experience and service. Luckily read up review about asking for bread, otherwise wouldn't have got any! Wouldn't recommend.

We had a very good evening. Menu was carefully crafted to provide something for everyone and the jugged hare starter never fails. Wine list is excellent with decent bottles available at all price points. Service was great and all our food was spot on.

Our first time and a wonderful evening to celebrate our friend daughter’s belated 18th birthday party. The food was exquisite and the service exemplary. One of the dining party’s dairy allergen was attentively looked after and the birthday treat was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing meal, had salmon, pork belly and blackberry souffle and managed to cater for my dairy allergy well. Only negative aspect was the service. Our server seemed to go MIA before taking our order and hovered at weird times.

Decent food and service. Yorkshire puds looks huge but were a bit too crispy and thin for my liking. Overall nice experience and enough parking too. Chapter one has a 4 out of 5 food hygiene rating, dated October 2021

Always good experience at Chapter One. If you want to eat in the Bistro, I'd suggest requesting a outside balcony seat as inside is a bit dark and not as nice view. Food is always great as is the service. They did bring us something we didn't order but they quickly realised and give it for free. Can't complain there!

5 star for everything! Maybe a little bit pricey for the size of the portions! 3 courses cost £70 that's with no drinks and including service charge. Baring in mind I had the vegetarian option which for that price sounds crazy! Otherwise food and service was really good, and a lovely atmosphere!

One of the best experiences in the greater London. I didn’t have any expectations as we were just visiting the area, but I was amazed by the reviews. It’s absolutely worth it! Even if the outside surroundings are not amazing, when you enter you’ll feel an immediate elegance, classy and sober atmosphere. Recipes are traditional but brave, inspired by different suggestions from all around Europe, the chef amazes you with gorgeous food. The wine carte was various and really greatly selected. All the waiters were professional and friendly, service was perfectly balanced. When the bill comes, you are ready to pay for it and grateful you found this place. We will be back, absolutely recommended! What a surprise!! External surroundings: 3/5 Interiors: 4/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Conclusion: amazing!

Exceptional food and service.. the celeriac veloute was beautifully presented, smooth and extremely tasty! The homemade bread complimented the soup.. could it get any better, well yes, the grilled sea bass (brasserie menu) was served on the bone, generously proportioned, moist meaty and cooked on their unique Jesper Grill which infused a level of smokiness I have not tasted before - absolute Yum! I enjoyed with a little sauce on the side. To finish with I shared the caramelised apple and sesame seed Mille-feuille desert.. which was nice.. had I had room I would have opted for the cheese board!.. a bottle of the Sancerre complimented the whole Meal superbly.. the service was very attentive and as good as anywhere I have been! This was not just a meal but a fabulous experience I would happily recommend to anyone looking for that something special!..

Really nice experience in such a nice part of outer london. Great decor and cleanliness but the service was really something else! professinal waiters with a really nice sense of humour and totally made you feel welcome. The food was really fantastic tried a bunch of things id normally never ever order and the dishes i was served showed what nice ingredients they can be when cooked well. Also .. the breads were really something special.

We first ate at Chapter One in November, it was one of their Gourmet evenings and quite superb, then last week we celebrated Burns night with a superbly Scottish themed meal (the Piper was excellent). I have no reason to think that Valentines night will be anything other than spectacular and look forward to that visit. I thoroughly recommend for a great meal with attention to detail from all the staff as you enjoy the food.

If I could give 0 I could! The food isn't marined, no tasteful expensive for the little food which was horrible. No marinade no seasoning no garlic no taste..ripp off Just put food in fish in front of you like you would for a dog. Except dog food has more taste and less bones.

Well, the only disadvantage of this marvellous restaurant: it's not just around the corner, when visiting London. However, it's worth every single mile to go there. Starting at the beginning: Chap. One has a spacious parking lot just in front the location! At the entrance you'll receive a very warm welcome and you will be guided to your table. The interior is elegant but not too much upper-class. There is no dress-code. A casual outfit is okay. Please, not too much 'street- wear', in my very personal view. The waiter a are very friendly (not 'too friendly')! And they do their job very professional in a very qualified manner. The menue offers you a three-course-meal. You may choose from about four different dishes for each course. I could hardly make up my mind, what to choose. Every dish was superb and 'on the point'. The dessert a class of it's own. One can't diatribe taste, therefor: make your own experience. I can highly recommend this spot. Bad luck - it's a long journey from Hamburg, however, as I said before, it's worth every single mile.

Great food. Fantastic steaks and starters with an amazing flourish of desserts at the end. Only downside I had not realised I'd booked a set menu. Needs to be clearer on the website!!!

We were invited to a birthday party in the upstairs private room. Very attentive and cordial staff. Yummy hors d'oeuvres Very good set menu. Wine glass was always full. Be aware that guests will need to be able to climb 2 flights of stairs for the private dining room as there's no elevator.

Excellent meal and service. Had the Terrine to start which was fantastic. The Rib-Eye steak was also great with a delicious red wine sauce. Wife had the Seabass which was a very good portion and cooked to perfection. Staff were very accommodating finding us a table on the Terrace and we had a lovely evening.

We ordered the Chapter One at Home dinner kit for a Christmas treat and were really impressed by what we received. The collection from the restaurant was seamless, we didn't even have to get out of the car with the friendly team delivering our meal box straight to our boot. Everything was carefully packaged with nicely presented, clear instructions on how to finish cooking and setting out the food, there was even a choice of playlists to scan and listen to during the meal. At £69.95 for a delicious 3 course meal (baked scallop and crab in puff pastry to start, tournedos of beef with foie gras and Madeira jus for main, Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and creme Normande as well as nibbles, mini mince pies and chocolate truffles) we thought this was exceptionally good value and would highly recommend. Thanks Chapter One for adding an extra sparkle to our Christmas celebrations!

We went to Chapter One for a special occasion, and to break the monotony of life with Coronavirus. Only once or twice a year, they hold an evening 7 course Tasting Menu, which is always very popular. We were only able to get a table due to a cancellation. Every course was memorable, and with the accompanying wine flight, the evening passed very pleasantly before the 10pm deadline for closure. A real treat in these restricted times. Due to Covid regulations, each table was well spaced, hand sanitisation was mandatory, and the staff were very professional. I will certainly be attempting to book again, once next years dates are announced.

I haven't been for a few years and always loved the exquisite service I received I felt that the standards had gone down even to taking our coats. We had our coats on the back of our chairs. It was not the same. I felt that the service was insincere

Sadly lacking the wow factor the prices demand. Sitting in a affulent area this restaurant should shimmy down the A21 to Bromley High Street where it will be more suited. Initial welcome under whelming, service average, food average, ambience more Friday night for a curry with the boys. Sadly living on its previous reputations.

We ate, four of us, last Sunday afternoon, to celebrate my daughter's birthday. A nice modern place; we were given a day menu to choose from, which was fine, but were told to look on-line for their drinks menu. we did query this, saying that some older people do not have phones? I am older, but do have one; The wine list though was 15 pages long! An iPhone screen just shows the centre page section, so you have to scroll left & then right to read the description and then the price. But 15 pages?? Starters and desserts were fine, but the main courses were disappointing. A salmon dish and 3 roast beef dishes. A small piece of salmon, garnished with chickpeas and no other veg. The roast beef dishes - meat fine, but yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes were not fresh. Our booking was for 5pm, the last slot - it perhaps may be sensible to get there earlier in the afternoon??

Food adequate but over priced. Two of our party felt unwell the following day. Two dishes had to be sent back and one was delivered incorrectly. The menu for the brasserie looked to be more interesting than the restaurant fayre. Won't be going back
