A delightful family Italian restaurant that does a great job of making you feel like you’re really in Italy! Lovely food and the staff were lovely… although a little over the top and seemed confused as to who was serving who. But this didn’t ruin the visit for us. The pastas were delicious and tasted very fresh! Would also recommend the garlic bread.

We been here for dinner and we were so pleased with the decoration, such a beautiful and romantic place for a date. The food was delicious, we had brusquetas, cannelloni, and salmon pasta and it was very tasty, fresh, the service it's great, the people that work there really takes care of you. Will be definitely back.

This place is always fantastic whenever we are here, cosy atmosphere, service is continuously great and the food is always very delicious. Dessert especially which are brought round on a cart are exceptional.

The place has a lovely atmosphere, and the pasta we had was ok. The older male who took our order was a bit unhappy, abrupt and impatient, but the lady who served us after was lovely.

Had a great experience and some amazing tasting food! The waiters were super kind and the vibe was amazing! You don't have to wait long after ordering food... And make sure to check out the dessert trolley.... It looks divine! 😋 My penne with salmon was a bit too salty, but that doesn't spoil anything at all! Had a great time, thank you 😊

We visited here on a Saturday, very busy indeed. The food was amazing, you could tell everything was home made. Also an open kitchen means you can see the chefs doing their work!! The service was extremelly fast even at full capacity, and the owner was lovely too. Prices fairly reasonable. Probably the best Italian restaurant in the centre of Liverpool. Would recommend.

Place was so busy and noisy. Food was hot everything was tasty except the chips, they were soggy and undercooked. Service was excellent and bit of a wait for the food but worth it. Ladies toilet on the first floor had a queue as there was only 2 cubicles. Yes there was a disabled toilet on the ground floor. No NHS or Bluelight discount. Would go again.

Nice Italian restaurant in the city centre of Liverpool. Beautifully decorated with Roman artwork on the walls. Dining chairs were very comfortable. Food was probably not the most flavoursome I've tasted at an Italian but was still nice and fresh. Staff were very attentive and polite. Would recommend because of good value for money 🤌🏽🍝😊

They were very busy and managed to get us a table so that was great. They gave us incorrect drinks which I asked to be changed. The waiter was fine and apologised. We ordered and the food was pretty good. Not top notch Italian but we weren't expecting that. All in all was pretty good but maybe not up there for a special occasion. We asked for the bill and waitied a good 15 minutes and in the end just went down to the dedk to pay. It wasnt a major issue. Okay for casual fining.

Excellent Italian Restaurant right in the centre of town. Did make a reservation. Had a fantastic meal. Staff very polite and attentive. The food was excellent. The drinks were good. Surroundings were really nice. Every care was taken to keep tables sanitised after use and all staff wore masks. The service was very good. Sufficient time was given to peruse the menu. We didn't feel at all rushed. Starters we were brought to the table about 15-20 mins after ordering. Then enough time was left between each course to relax. The portions were good. My only 1 disappointment was that vegatables are not served as part of the Main course, however there are complimentary sautee potatoes. Some greens would have been good. All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant. But do make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

We stopped by at this amazing Italian restaurant on a weeknight, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy, but we got a table and were sitted immediately. Drinks, starters, and our mains all arrived onetime Food was cooked to perfection. It was fresh, good-sized portions, and very tasty. The dessert trolley is an amazing idea, you get to see the dessert portions straight away and order as many as you like. Dessert was also lovely. We all had an amazing evening and would definitely go back, if in Liverpool City Centre for dinner.

Beautiful decor, and lovely food. I was a bit disappointed with my main but not because of the cooking I just didn’t really like the sauce on my chicken it’s an acquired taste. I had the breaded chicken with Parma ham and mozzarella. My partner loved his which was the chicken and red wine and my 5 year old son demolished his creamy ham pasta. The starters was beautiful my partner and I shared the homemade soup which was minestrone and bruschetta 10/10. Will definitely return. Love the dessert trolley in there my son had a strawberry tart quite pricey though but well worth it.

We feel bad here, just finished our dinner. They forgot our starter bread but showed it on the bill. No one apologized for it. They also ignored our request for tap water. Nobody came to ask us if we were ok the whole time, but they asked the couple next door three times. I doubt it's racist because we are Asian. Bad experience, will never come again.

Really good restaurant and right in the city centre too. Lunchtime menu provides good value alongside the usual choice of Italian restaurant favourite dishes. Liverpool has plenty of choice for Italian restaurants , but this is one of the better options.

I was in Liverpool for my birthday this weekend and went to Villa Romana for my birthday dinner. I'm well travelled and genuinely, I've never had Italian food this nice ever! The entire experience of dining here was an absolute joy. The interior is warm and inviting with a busy open kitchen and attentive wait staff who couldn't do enough. I ordered tomato soup, simple and beautifully seasoned, then Spaghetti Carbonara which was so tasty. My Dad ordered the Lasagne and it was so big, he couldn't eat the side we had ordered of Salt and rosemary potatoes! The desserts trolley is such a lovely touch which adds to the whole experience. Let's face it, it's hard to say no to dessert when you can see what you'd be missing! Thank you Villa Romana for making my birthday one to remember!

Great food, big portions and friendly staff

Visited yesterday evening and will definitely be back. Although we hadn’t booked and it was very busy we were shown to a table quickly. Service from Dawn and the rest of her colleagues was exceptional and a real highlight! Starters and mains arrived quickly but we never felt rushed. This is the best Italian food we have had outside of Italy with plenty of flavour and great portions. I would happily come here again based on how amazing the service was! Loved it. Will definitely order a desert from the trolley next time too.

Update 15/07/2023 Another excellent meal. Goats cheese starter was beautiful. Filleto Pepe Nero was amazing. It was such a lovely experience! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, quite attentive even on a busy Sunday dinner time. The food was delicious, so were the deserts (the deserts should have a price included a bit more obviously but they were amazing). Reasonable prices too, highly recommend!

Unreal. This place has such a great atmosphere, it's truly a place you can go with family and have the best experience. It gets busy so make sure you book well in advance! The prices are also extremely competitive especially considering the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff. Overall 10/10!

Really tasty food, the tortelloni basilico was so good: hot, fresh and really cheesy! Dessert trolley was fun, so many yummy things to choose from and the crème brûlée cheesecake I had was delicious! Service was excellent and really quick.

It's a gem, delivering authentic Italian flavors through standout pasta dishes, fresh seafood, and expertly grilled options. The warm ambiance and attentive staff make it a top choice for a delightful dining experience in the heart of the city. We enjoyed the seafood spaghetti, lamb chops, and lasagna, all of which were absolutely amazing. However, the milk cake for dessert fell short of expectations.

Probably the best Italian food I've ever eaten, I liked the way the meals were presented. The decor was also pretty impressive, some might say it's a bit too much but personally I like it. This is where the positives end, it was really warm in there without any ventilation. Staff seemed overworked, sweating and not engaged with customers. The tables were really close together unfortunately, it was not pleasant overhearing others conversations and trying to talk over others to be able to communicate with my partner. All in all I think it's great value for money, fantastic food, quick but not particularly great service and probably more bearable climate in the winter. I will probably visit again if I'm in Liverpool.

I have been whelmed. Not under. Not over. It was ok, like a bus ride is ok. You don’t expect to get fantastic service but you also don’t expect to crash. That’s the experience I had.

We booked here for a 21st birthday family dinner. Great atmosphere, very busy and people are queuing up waiting to be seated. Food was delicious and the service was prompt. Best thing about the restaurant was the dessert trolley which was brought to you. Would definitely recommend for a great Italian dinner in Liverpool.

Please visit this place. There is an open kitchen. There is an amazing pudding trolley. There are staff who have been employed since we started visiting 12 years ago. There are nice painted murals. And it's right off of Central Station. We visited at lunchtime on a Friday, had a lovely time. House red wine isn't good but the experience is really lovely. And historically we loved the place for its tournedos Rossini. Shell out some dosh and get a great steak and an Irish coffee.

Wonderful family run Italian restaurant. Inside is beautiful with lots of arches. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Great menu and the food was delicious. The desserts are amazing and they are brought to the table on a sweet trolley. Can highly recommend.

One of my favourite food places in the whole city. I have been 4 times so far and can't wait for my next visit. The chicken breast with olive oil and garlic sauce and potatoes is delicious! The whole atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect for any occasion. Don't get me started on how beautiful the dessert trolley is too !!

The food was very good, the staff was lovely too. Everything was amazing except the service, it may be because we were sat upstairs so I would suggest sitting downstairs so you can be served on time.

A lovely interior hidden away in a less than lovely area of the town centre. The meals here are lovely with a large variety to choose from and the service was great. Personally a huge fan of the dessert cart!

Amazing Italian food. Wanted a nice Italian restaurant whilst on a recent trip to Liverpool and definitely found it. The Lasagne was the best I've ever had and I do love a good Lasagne. I couldn't finish it either and I usually think Lasagne portions are too small but this was perfect (I prob shouldn't have had so much gorgeous garlic bread either). Had bruschetta to start too and it was just as nice. Everything fresh and homemade, really tasty.

Visited Villa Romana yesterday with friends for my Wife’s birthday. My starter (ravioli) was cold, carbonara served to my Wife was made with ridiculously salty bacon (not pancetta as expected in nice Italian restaurant) but whole evening was let down by mains ! Pizza we received was disgusting and I really mean that. Soggy, sweet dough (looked like pancake ?!) full of oil, no crust whatsoever and low quality toppings. Not edible and Very disappointing. We reported problem to staff but they didn’t make any effort to make it up. Sad …

We were visiting Liverpool for 6days, once we discovered this place we went 3 times, it's just lovely. The food is gorgeous and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. Loved all our visits. The mushroom starter with garlic and parsley is beyond scrumptious.

Went for a meal here last night, the service was brilliant the staff were very attentive. The food was lovely too and well priced for £50 for 2 pastas, a pizza and a glass of wine each. Would recommend highly.

Was left for over 20 minutes after main course plates were taken away after just saying that we would like five minutes before looking at desert trolly. Sat that whole time with also no drinks. Have been before and won't let this put us off we will still go back when visiting Liverpool

What a place. We visited Liverpool and were staying at the Premier Inn around the corner and decided to eat here based on the myriad of great reviews - they weren't lying! Beautiful restaurant with warm staff and a fantastic atmosphere. The menu was extensive but not overwhelming, although it was difficult to finally choose what I wanted! All freshly cooked and backed with flavour. The pasta dishes are available in two portion sizes, as a starter or main course. I ordered from the starter menu and had a full size pasta, although delicious, I would have ordered the smaller size after my starter as their portions are very generous. Overall a fantastic experience, I wish to return with an empty stomach to try their desserts!

Lovely restaurant and friendly staff. However, the pizza’s were very poor. They tasted very bland, with little favour. The base was not very nice and there was too much cheese on the pizzas with very little tomato sauce. I would not recommend this Italian restaurant until they improve their pizza recipe.

Having only 3 nights here in Liverpool, we found this absolute treasure on our second night and HAD to return on our third and final night. By far the best Italian food we’ve ever had and the service is second to none. The atmosphere is welcoming and spirited, the food arrived very quickly and was flawless on both nights - piping hot and clearly fresh and homemade. The desserts are to die for and the desserts trolley is a wonderful touch. In particular, a special mention to the Italian waiter who served us - apologies that we did not get your name but your personable and attentive service was fantastic and you are clearly an asset to the team. We cannot wait to return to Liverpool just so we can visit this restaurant again!

Started well! Attentive waiting staff, tasty starters. Then went down hill. Offered deserts while waiting for main course. 45 minute wait for mains,which didn't live up to the starters promise! Ordered coffee, only to get bill before coffee arrived. No offer of deserts or another drink. No interaction between staff and guests. Total disinterest! Will not be returning.

As soon as I tasted their garlic herb bread I left. Absolutely disgusting. Dried crusty herbs. Rosemary like fossilised twigs. Surely fresh herbs daily cost nothing. They crunched like 2 year old dried cost cutters. We had lasagne. Microwave slop. Never ever again. Disgraceful!!!!!

I love this place it feels like you are on holiday as it's roasting in there so don't wear a big jumper! The food is delishous and it's romantic and they do have nice wine so it's great for date night! Or just fun meals with friends.
