1/10 hostel DO NOT STAY HERE. This was the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. There is no lock or security to enter the hostel or the dorms, no security footage, no one monitoring reception, so anyone can walk in, and someone did. Very loud drunk men came in at 4AM and were yelling for over an hour, and no one working at the hostel did anything. They even walked into one of the dorm rooms where guests were sleeping. My friend got her cash stolen from her backpack in the dorm room. I felt so unsafe here, especially as a woman. Apart from the huge security problem, the location is sketchy and in Kuta not Seminyak, the rooms are dirty, there is no soap by the sinks, the walls are super thin, it wasn’t a very social hostel, there’s no lounge area to meet other travelers, and there are no curtains for privacy on the dorm beds. The ONLY good thing about this hostel is that free dinner is included every night at 7PM. In the morning as I was leaving, the host begged me and my female friends not to leave a bad review. I told him that the reviews on here are inaccurate and other travelers deserve to know what it is really like staying here, especially that there is zero security. He said he was sorry but still harassed us to not leave a review. He was much more concerned with the review than actually addressing any problems. Please just stay anywhere else in Bali, this place sucks. Sacrificing your safety is not worth the cheap stay.

I don’t understand how can it be rated 5 stars 🤷🏽‍♀️? Entrance(stairs) is just very shabby, dark, and moldy. The toilets(no 🧻) and showers(no shampoo nor soap) needs to be renovated and maintained. No drinking water no towel. NO ROOM KEY! Floors are not clean. Bunk bed frame is covered with lots of dust. The wooden plate to support the bed is very thin and random. Can be broken easily and making lots of noises. Hostel provides dinner instead of breakfast it might suits some people but I don’t eat carbs at night (they provide rice or noodles). Breakfast would works better for me as it is listed in the booking. With the same price there are other hostel which provides drinking water, towel, even has a pool. It is so not worthy to come staying in Sunshot hostel.

Great hostel with amazing staff. There’s free dinner at 7 every night and everyone eats together on the deck to watch sunset. It’s like a big family. The showers have hot water, the beds are comfortable, and it’s a great price. It’s in a great location and I would recommend to backpackers looking to meet new people.

Simply the best hostel I've ever stayed in! And thats not only counting Bali. The minute I arrived here I already felt at home. The staff is super friendly and will gladly sit down and have a chat with you. Because of this atmosphere almost all the guests know eachother and talk with eachother. Next to that, the facilities are great! After I arrived I could immeadiatly take a hot shower and when I was done I went to the roof bar where I made friends with the other guests. Amazing place!!

Central located hostel with genuine people working there. My friend and I had the best time there on the terrace which makes it so easy to meet new people and find new friends. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom facilities are clean. Also free dinner included every night with rice and some vegetarian options. All in one I can recommend this place to everyone who’s new to Bali and who wants to meet new people and have a good time.

I’ve been traveling 5 months now and this is by far the best vibe, best people, best dinners, THE BEST hostel i’ve ever stayed at. This is not due to facilities, though the dorms, toilet, etc. were all great for the cost, clean and well looked after. The reason for this place being so amazing is Luki & Jero. They both go above and beyond to help you with whatever you need. I lost my credit card and they let me pay late, gave me free food on barbecue night knowing i couldn’t pay. Seriously a can’t miss place to stay in Bali. I will be back, and hope you all will give this place a shot, just go through the odd looking entrance and up the stairs and you’ll be greeted with nothing but smiles and love. Thank you Jero and Luki

A typical hostel experience one would expect for seven to ten euro a night. The downsides were probably the two stories of stairs are the hike up to get to the place. The beds and pillows that had the foam and fluffing blowing out from years of people sleeping on it. None of the sheets and blankets and pillowcases seemed washed or cleaned. Pool was in sandy disarray. Between the little dog that barks below the hostile and the loud noise it was pretty noisy. hostel is completely empty so we checked out a day early just because we wanted somewhere a bit nicer. Staff was friendly dinner was really good I’m sure this place is more than fine for a day or two especially during a busier season here in Bali.

I stayed at the Sunshot Hostel for 2 nights. It is a nice place and the price excellent. You get a welcoming feeling, as the staff are welcoming and so nice. The free dinner can be enjoyed at the balcony, which is also just great

One of the best hostels in Bali. Great atmosphere staff are so friendly and accommodating. Very social hostel but not a party hostel, very easy to meet people to do things with during the day or night. Free dinners and arak some nights during the week too. Chill but also social.

One of the funnest hostels you could go for, fantastic for socialising and you will be sure to make a great friend in Luki and chocolate (the host/manager/vibe king and his dog). He’s such an amazing dude and makes sure you come and leave knowing you’re gonna be in good hands and have a great time. Rooms we’re great and the bathrooms did the job perfectally. Mad free dinner every night as well Give it a go and you won’t be disappointed!

Awesome hostel - defo the best social vibe you can get. Free dinner is great to meet people. Beds are nice and private, rooms really affordable at around 6€ a night (including dinner!!) Bathrooms very clean and awesome staff. Only spent 2 nights here but those were the best on Bali.

Such a great hostel to stay! The staff and guests were super friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We went as a group and celebrated two birthdays between our friends, the owners went above and beyond to help make it a special. It’s in a great location, great value for money and as a bonus they have a hostel dog called Chocolate, who is the nicest resident there! Would recommend this place to anyone that stays in the Seminyak area.

I really liked the place overall! I stayed there my first night in Bali, not knowing what to expect, and I was pretty impressed. The place is only a 20 min walk from the beach, there are many places around the hostel to eat. There is a really nice live mini concert near the hostel, and although I couldn’t understand much, it was really nice to be able to experience that. Everyday at 7pm, there is free dinner which is good because everyone staying at the hostel comes together and socializes and you get to meet new people.

Stay 3 nights over here. So far so good. There is free dinner in 7pm everyday , either is fried noodle or either fried rice. The shower room is great with hot water , nothing much to complain. The air-conditioning is cold enough. Beautiful sunset is there. If hungry , there is 24 hours store just nearby , even mcd is 24 hours and there is Dim Sum Inc too. For someone to look for a bargain to stay , this is most likely the place.

My first experience stayed in Hostel and it turned out my best experience ever. Real hidden gem! Don't let the entrance fools you! Food: - Free Dinner every night! Super helpful for the budget travellers - For Westerners, 1 block away from McDonald & Burger King - big mac is always available Accommodation: - Super duper clean toilet & floors. Mopped & broomed every morning - Cold AC. You can set the temperature by your own. - Balcony with views to hangout with your fellow travellers. - Curtain to protect your privacy - Locker under the bed to kees your belongings safe - Charging outlet on your bunker bed - Hot & Cold showers - Rent-able towels (not really absorbs the water but still ok) Vibe: Nice place to have a chat with travellers & nice rest. The host (Pak Jero/+62 823-3974-9250) is really friendly & welcoming. He listen to our needs & tried his best to accommodate us (giving a ride to the nearby surfing place/beach club, add more trash can, etc). Contact her number in WA for a (maybe) a cheaper price. As a local (Indonesian), I LOVE the vibes & the facilities provided. TOTALLY WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY. + Cute dog also a plus point

Superb sunsets from the 3rd storey deck where they host a free dinner for guests every night and it's a wonderful way to meet other travellers :) you have a choice of dorms depending on your budget and private rooms too. The stairs up to the hostel will give you a great workout but it's good to be off street level when it's raining (or too busy on the streets below!)... Located along Bali's food street with lots of food options, close to TSM Mall and a reasonable walk to the beach... Great vibes and can't complain prices... As well as friendly staff and cool owner who cares about guests having a good time (and fantastic hot showers!)
