Nice wellcoming by friendly staff, nice and professional service all evening. We ate mostly seafood. All was fresh and tasty. Recommended whitewine was perfect. By the time we left, we felt happy and well nourished.

Beautiful local Sicilian restaurant, away from the tourist traps. Nimo served us, who i believe is also the owner. Limited English, but super friendly and personable, he knows enough to communicate. He can also speak in French. Really excellent food, great value for the quality. especially the eggplant starter (sauce is divine), octopus and the fresh calamari. I had the amberjack fish main which was delicious.

Fantastic neighborhood family restaurant. Mama cooked us food, son took our order and Papa brought us our drinks. Been in the family for more than 109 years! Food was excellent too! Thank you for letting us into your restaurant before lunch closing.

Mimo and his wife are incredible hosts. This is a real family restaurant, we were 15 people and we felt like we had Sunday family lunch! I highly recommend to spend your afternoon here !

You can feel that they love what they do. I must say that I have eaten squid from the Mediterranean area to Central America. And I must say thay here it was the best one that I have ever eaten.

The restaurant is one of the best I have been to. Not just in Sicily but in my life. The owner personally ensures that every table is given the attention it deserves. All the meticulous details from the wine complementing the food, allergies, diet restrictions are made sure they are discussed. I would come here everyday. The food is impeccably delicious. The flavours remind you of eating farm to table. Best pasta I have had to date and I come to Italy every year… almost. Trust me I know my pasta.

We found this amazing gem of a restaurant on our last day of visiting Palermo. Family run and very friendly with professional service. Food was very tasty and freshly prepared. Our only regret is that we could not order more as we were on a tight budget for the last day. Would highly recommend.

Me and my family decided to stop by this restaurant with the intention of just getting something small to eat before dinner. A small hole in the wall place that once you walk down the steps opens up to a beautiful space that makes you feel at home. Once inside, we decided to have a few of their signature pasta dishes. We have been to Rome, Sorrento, and ended our trip in Palermo. When I say this is the best pasta we have had in all of Italy, there is no exaggeration. Everything we tasted was beautiful, down to the bread they provided. If I could rate this 6 stars I would. Family owned and operated. I would highly recommend to anyone. My only regret is that I could not taste more of what they had on the menu.

No words can describe the experience I had at this family restaurant. Me and my friend ordered pasta with sea food 10/10! And I’m a pasta lover - I do know what good pasta is. Also, the chef and the owner were very kind and welcoming. P.S. Even tho I don’t go to the same place while I’m traveling, I did go again here in my last day in Sicily. The best choice ever! We had past, pizza and desert. Everything exceeded expectations. You could tell that the ingredients were fresh and of a good quality. Thank you and keep up the good job!

Another wonderful dinner in the Politeama at Lo Scrigno di Donna Rosa beautifully served by Mimmo & his team. We started with caponata, red shrimp from Mazara, and a sauté of clams & mussels. For main courses we had tortellini, pasta with ricci, pasta with salmon, pasta with wild mushrooms, and branzino with a mediterranean sauce. A truly wonderful meal and no room left for dessert!!! I will definitely be back.

What a welcoming experience by the family who own and run this restaurant. It was like being invited into their home. We enjoyed a lovely local white wine recommended by Mimo to accompany our delicious seafood pastas. The lobster was shown to us before completing our order to highlight how fresh it was (still alive). The fettuccine allo scrigno was one of their specialities and Mimo commended our choices. Our plates were completely wiped clean with the accompanying bread. Delicious meal, highly recommend. Grazie!

Now THIS is a hidden gem. From a fellow foodie, trust me when I say every single dish was stellar. The kindness and hospitality with which Mimo and his family received us is unparalleled and truly made our experience memorable and moving. You can tell how much thought, history and love is poured into each dish. Mimo really takes to heart the mission of providing a unique experience accompanied by the best food and wines in Sicily. This is a must when visiting Palermo, no doubt. Highlight of my trip to Italy.

Delicious food. Horrible service. BTW, couldn’t enjoy dessert cause I didn’t have any utensils. Sad cause the pasta was delicious. Went from a 5 star to 0 star review.

The best restaurant we have eaten at in Sicily. The staff were the friendliest people, and the pizza was the best we’ve ever had (and we have tried in many places!). I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Palermo - you will not regret it!
