This place is a hidden gem. Service was excellent and food was amazing! We especially loved the shrimp tartare, the mussels gorgonzola and fish of the day (sea bass) with zucchini and cheese., It was a wonderful evening.

As a group of 12 we tried many restaurants in ortigia but was most surprised by this - a lovely quiet, cool place to eat especially in the heat. The food was served fresh and tasted excellent, especially the caponata salad - would definitely recommend this quaint cafe. They also provided charging cables for devices and the staff were superb!

My family and I had dinner two nights in a row at Peperosa Ortigia while on holidays. The dishes were all exquisite and the desserts some of the best we’ve ever had. The service is casual, yet friendly and the staff are knowledgeable. I highly recommend the fish lasagne, the pasará Maritata. Enza and Naomi are sensational! Must visit.

Peperosa is a small restaurant hidden in an alley in the ortigia island of Siracusa. We went there for lunch and had an amazing experience thanks to the great service provided by Barbara and Enza who recommended us what to eat and what bottle of wine was the best to match our chosen dishes. The food was very good and absolutely delicious, I have only good things to say about this unpretentious restaurant, if you are in Siracusa make sure to pay a visit to Peperosa!

Food was alright, staff was really kind 🙂 But what really annoyed us was coperto (5€ per person). There was no information about that on the menu, whatsoever.

It's January and Monday and it was before 7pm, so many places were closed. We walked by the alley of Peperosa and were called in by a fellow at the back. What a lovely surprise. Food was great. Service very friendly and price very reasonable. We will go back before we leave.

If you are in Siracusa is your mandatory stop if you want to feel the really fresh food and taste of Italy, amazing experience in their terrace, inside in front of the kitchen or just in the old town street just in the entrance of the restaurant... Incredible atmosphere.. If you visit them, please do not forget to give my warmest greetings to Mrs Enza and maybe you will receive a free homemade excellent limoncelo shot

Food overpriced to what we had. We paid 80 euro for two pasta dishes, small appetiser to share and small plate of seafood to share as well. None of the meals were made fresh. Pasta was without a taste. The worst food experience I had in Italy so far.

Awful experience… we didn’t hear any cooking in the kitchen and when the food was served we could clearly tell all dishes were reheated. Not to mention the stomachache I woke up to at night. Wasted so much money as the restaurant is super expensive so I’m not sure what we paid for. The quality of food was so bad.
