Definitely the best aranchino I had in Palermo. Very friendly people, we had a pleasant conversation, they speak exceptionally good english comparing to other places in the city. Thumbs up!

OMG, months in search of a specialty coffee bar, and today we accidentally found this lovely place. The Colombia espresso was incredible! Pastry tastes great too!!!

Located off the beaten (turistic) track, Vabres offered by far the best coffee of our whole stay in Sicily. Run by passionate people, this family business is a must for any Palermo visitors who appreciate good coffee! ☕️

Great coffee, good arancini. Stuff knows some english, and the barista explained the coffee selection in depth. Everything is freshly made, you can see the large kitchen and the cooking behind the counter.

Visited the pasticceria for colazione (breakfast). The place was full of Italians. You can either stand by the bar or there are garden tables outside. Staff was busy, spoke mainly in Italian but understands English. I’ve tried cannolo and arancina for 2,50 € which is in my opinion a good price for a place near the centre. You could choose appx from 5 types of arancine (with meat but also vegetarian with spinach). Cannolo was only pistacchio. Highly recommend.

Delicious and quite cheap ☺️ wonderful selection of arancine, the one with bacon and provola was especially good!

It’s easy to observe that Bar Vabres is the best specialty coffee bar in Sicily or Italy, but this bar would be among the best anywhere in the world. The combination of ranked competitive baristas, in house roasted coffees, and an incredible selection of fresh, hand made sweet and savory baked goods make Bar Vabres unique.

If you are looking for good coffee (single origen specialty) this is the place in Palermo. The guy explain a lot about coffee and suggested nice sweets. We got 2x V60 and some local sweets to share. It is a bit outside of the historical city center but worth the walk and it is not to far from the central station...

The best coffee so far in Sicily but still below my expectation. Great service. Get iris pastry, it's fried dough with ricotta and chocolate but so much better than that description. It's light and high quality. Back to the coffee, it's from fried hat roaster in Amsterdam. It's certainly not roasted 3rd wave artisan but better than most Italian roasts. A bit over roasted IMHO. I'm not sure the sourcing is as picky as I want.

Was searching for best places to have coffee in Palermo and this place came up. It is located off the beaten tourist track in the slightly shabby side streets near to the main train station and is a genuine find. Obviously you get great coffee in many places in Italy and all over Palermo. But it is almost always Italian-style espresso and there is nothing wrong with that. But if you want single origin drip or aeropress coffee, straight black or in drinks like a flat white, that is sometimes harder to find. Bar Vabres is serious about all forms of its coffee and they always have a selection of single origin coffees. The Ethiopian flat white that I had was one of the best coffees I have ever had in Italy. There is an interesting price disparity: €1.20 for standard coffee (espresso), €2.00 for latte macchiato (aka cafe latte to non Italians) and €3.50 for a single origin coffee, presumably reflecting the cost of the beans. On the food side, everything is excellent - pastries, cakes, arancina, panini and even warm pasta courses. I'd say the food offerings are similar to those found in the many excellent cafe bakeries in Palermo but it is the coffee that makes this place special. And everyone is very friendly too

Some of the best arancini in Palermo, at a reasonable price. Tried many bars in the city and here they know what they are doing with arancini. Friendly and polite staff

Amazing food and coffee! The croissants and Canoli are just the best in town, and the coffee is superb. Super nice staff :)

Small coffee bar to get a quick bite close to the station. We like the savory pastry slightly more than the sweet ones. The bread with ragu is our favorite :) the staff are all very friendly and accommodate our random request! Happy we have found the way here!
