We had a wonderful experience at the Masseria. The property was beautiful and very close to Ostuni (the city and train station). You're surrounded by 1000+ year old olive trees. We had dinner on-site one night and were blown away. The owner, Armando, gave a property tour before seating everyone for the meal and he assisted with the service, providing tidbits about the food and where it came from. Our room was excellent. The food was fantastic — the daily breakfasts were heavenly. I would return again tomorrow if I could. The staff were also excellent and very helpful whenever we needed anything (restaurant reccos, reservations, taxi help, umbrellas in the rain). I would recommend having a rental car though as the area can be hard to navigate without it (taxis are few and far between), and nothing is walkable off the property.

I just went for dinner! It is a review exclusively for the restaurant. I don't usually do bad reviews. I don’t like to do that. But I must warn about this place. It is extremely overpriced for a food that is absolutely “old style” (and not in a good way). There is nothing worth the 80€ of the menu. (As for protein, in the sense of “more expensive product” they just give you 40gr of squid and a slice of a lamb pie with a texture that I prefer not to describe… Crazy!) The only good dish was pasta with cauliflower… They also give you a paring of three wines….Nothing in the wave of “natural or biodynamic wines”. The type of service is like if you were at a wedding. 0 personal treatment. Absolutely disappointed. Yes, La Masseria is beautiful but it shouldn’t be the only attractive… If not, you feel like you are in an Amusement Park.

A fantastic, fabulous and fun place to experience a Masseria. The service was impeccable and the staff could not have been more helpful and efficient. The 6 and 8 course dinners were an amazing experience, including the lovely atmosphere and great wine selection. It is the experience you will remember forever!

It was amazing! The history of the farmhouse, the serene atmosphere, the olive groves, and I saved the best for last- the unforgettable FOOD! And wines! Be sure to take the farmhouse tour with the owner. It makes it even more special! You will remember your stay forever.

Outstanding service and decor accompanied with great food and wine! An easy going ambience where to enjoy a great diner (if you are a big group ask for the garage) Food was fantastic, well proportioned and served. We had a full fish menu finished by a lemon cake. Certainly recomendable!

When we first arrived, we were a bit dissapointed. The Masseria is beautiful and staff is really friendly. But the rooms afe old. After a day or two it grew on us, and we really loved the place by the time we left. It’s like staying with friends at their families summer house. Food is great, only too much of it :)

Wow - an absolutely magical experience. The property is incredibly beautiful and surrounded by acres of ancient olive trees that you can explore. The main building and courtyard are exquisite with white washed walls and colorful flowers. We enjoyed hours by the pool that’s surrounded by massive olive trees drinking an aperol spritz and admiring the view. At night, the carefully prepared dinners and wine pairings are not to be missed - dinner is by candlelight in the courtyard and each dish is described in great detail by the thoughtful host. Would highly recommend visiting the masseria and exploring the surrounding towns of Ostuni, Monopoli, and Polignano a Mare.

everything is perfect! great breakfast and great people and service. The one thing can be improved is the swimming pool which needs clean more often or a bigger one if it’s possible :D

One of the best dinner experiences you can imagine. We visited Masseria Il Frantoio for dinner and it was such a perfect way to finish our trip to Puglia. Starting with a tour of the masseria and gardens and learning about the history and olive oil making, we were then seated in the most beautiful courtyard for our meal. Everything from the bread and homemade olive oil through to each carefully chosen wine was absolutely delicious. We felt well and truly looked after for the whole evening and honestly for the whole experience the price is 100% worth it. I would travel back to Puglia just solely to come here again!

Absolutely a magical, special place. The best meals we had on a two week trip, and the pool is amazing for the hot summer days.

If there were 10 stars that would be my ranking. Absolutely magical. The masseria is beautiful and well maintained. The descriptions cannot adequately convey its special nature. Staff are all fantastic- Carmen in reception, Angela in the dining room, Francesco and other staff, and of course Armando the owner and Luciano. We stayed in the Cedro room which was perfect. Very private. We decided not to have a car the three nights at the masseria so we just relaxed and enjoyed the property. Carmen arranged for a taxi pickup from the Ostuni train station and a private driver (Carlo) to take us to our next lodging. We enjoyed all three nights of the special dinner that the masseria is so well known for. These are not so much “dinners” but an experience, with delicious local dishes all explained and paired with (endless) wine. We did the 8 course meal once (highly recommended) and they offered us a four course meal the other two nights. Prepare and relax and appreciate the experience. Come hungry. Enjoy a pre-meal aperitif. The experience will be two or more hours depending on the menu. Truly exceptional. We also enjoyed the breakfasts and lunch boxes. All meals are prepared with careful attention to any dietary restrictions, and staff were very gracious to adjust to special requests. We spent much of the days by the wonderful pool, situated among 2,000 year old olive trees. And of course enjoyed the pool-side honesty bar with water, beer, wine and champagne. We travel a LOT. This is one of the most special places we have visited. I would highly recommend.
