Rooms okay.not very well cleaned. Location was good. 15 minutes from airport. Service is slow. Food is okay ish. Not the best. Food was cold. Pretty much the same each night. But there is something there for all. only one pool as they were re doing the heated pool. 10 euro for pool towels. Not great towels. Take your own. Room towels had holes in not the best? Snack hut food is not great its the same every day. Need more restaurants in this place with the room that is there they can do it.

Good hotel being refurbished end of the so will be better. Went All Inclusive food was great plus all branded spirits at the bars. Great location but a good walk into main resort but all along the seafront no shade but a nice breeze. Handy shopping centre next door with a big supermarket and some nice shops. Great Indian Restaurant on ground floor (Shivam) worth a visit. Good 2 week holiday would return and recommend.

Currently here with my husband and 1yo and we cannot fault this place. It's spotlessly clean, the food and drinks are amazing with huge selection and clear allergen labels on everything. The animation team and fantastic and there's something for everyone but they aren't pushy at all. Rooms are big, beds are comfy, the walk into town along the front is lovely. My only tiny thing I would change is that the pools are really cold!

Elba Sara is only 15 minutes drive from the airport so was quick and easy to get to the location and start our vacation. I had an amazing time at the Elba Sara, the staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and it's the perfect hotel for relaxing and having a great time. Also perfect for families. It's just a few minutes walk to the beach with silky smooth sands, beautiful views, and amazingly blue water. We had the all inclusive package which certainly did not disappoint it. We had a wide selection of meals, drinks and alcoholic beverages(, no alcohol at breakfast) at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pools were great especially the heated pool. There is an amazing gift shop close to re eption with tonnes of souvenirs and goodies. I'd recommend this place over and over again.

Went for our first overseas holiday since before Covid. This hotel was excellent. The room was large, with its own balcony, sea facing and was in good condition and well maintained. We were all inclusive and so made frequent use of the dining area. The food was always very good with a variety of hot and cold dishes every day and the staff were always efficient and friendly. One small suggestion is that they could make the conservatory area adult only for those if us that have been through the child rearing time of our lives and would like a more peaceful time to enjoy our meals. A large and well laid out pool area and the activities team were very enthusiastic with activities to participate in and they also laid on a show one evening in the Broadway bar. We were very impressed with the friendliness of ALL the staff in the hotel, who helped make it a very enjoyable stay. There was a lovely boardwalk beach walk to the local town which was a 20 minute stroll for a change of scenery. Also this hotel is only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. Great !

We enjoyed our stay. Every day an extensive and varied buffet, a beautiful garden and swimming pool. But above all, the friendliness of the team, the enthusiastic entertainment for the children and evening shows were outstanding. The location is also an advantage. On walking distance to a shopping center and the quiet child-friendly beach of Caleta de Fuste. A must do natural pool nearby at low tie

The staff were great and very helpful. As mentioned in previous reviews, the hotel is looking tired, but it is still functional. It is very family friendly and suitable for young children, not much going on for teenagers though. I think improvements such as sitting guests down to breakfast or dinner would be good, it was a bit of a free for all at meal times and you had to find your own table and learn your way around. We did find that if you didn't go for dinner or breakfast early enough the choice was diminished. I wonder whether they are winding down for refurbishment later on in the year, because in previous reviews it mentioned how immaculate the gardens were and there were many weeds and the ponds etc were untidy. Overall good, I would be pleased to visit again in the future just because of the great staff.

Exquisite views of the sea and pool area from the balcony of the fourth floor room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean except there was some stain on the curtains. The furniture is quite worn out in the room and the dining hall. The hotel offered things to do for whole day. The pool area and garden was nice looking. There are a few friendly cats moving around the hotel area which was a fun suprise. The food in the buffet was good and varied. Sometimes the food had gone cold. The planes that flew over the hotel were a little annoying at first but didn't mind us later on. Our holiday was very successful and we liked the hotel and the staff and could come back some other time in the future.

Close to the airport. It’s outside Caleta but lovely prom walk to town. Staff very helpful and friendly, cannot do enough for you. Room clean and bed comfy, can be cleaned everyday if you want this. Food good, change of main each evening. Self service, wide range of choice available, and arranged around room so didn’t have to queue, worth while looking at what’s on offer. Entertainment is okay, but loud, didn’t really stay around for most of it so cannot comment fairly on this. Shopping complex next door with few shops. Market five minutes up the road on Tuesday and Saturday. Nice real sandy bay two minutes away along the front. Safe area for swimming and snorkelling. Caleta beach is man made and not nice underfoot, like walking on glass, but the water here is safe and nice to hbe in. Can get a bus from in front of shopping centre to take you into Port Rosario where you can catch another bus to anywhere on the island, which is most definitely worth looking at. Best hiring a car really to see the island properly, but avoid gold car (read reviews from people about them)

This was one of the best says I've ever had. As soon as we arrived we were handed welcome drinks, and was upgraded from a junior suite for free which made mine and my wife's honeymoon even better. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as great as can be. Will definitely be going back as soon as we can.

We have just returned from this lovely resort and we are very happy with our stay there. The hotel is very nice and there are 3 pools to choose from. A toddlers paddle pool with a small water slide and an umbrella fountain, a larger kids/adults pool where most of the fun happens, and a larger, deeper pool for adults and brave kids. For families, there are daily kids clubs from 10:30 till 12:30, and again from 14:30 till 16:30 where the kids do everything from drawing, painting, craft, baking etc. Perfect for a bit of quiet time. The thing that really made this holiday special was the animation team, who's boundless energy, warmth and politeness was second to none! There's a kids disco every evening from 20:30 till 21:00, and adult (child friendly) entertainment after that. Food was okay (we've had better, but we're fussy), loads of selection, breakfast, lunch and dinner. If there's one criticism, its that the cocktails were not great. I think the staff need training on how to make decent cocktails, but that's a small detail. There's a nice gym for those like myself who like to start the day with exercise, and for those who like a morning run, the promenade walk that runs from the hotel all the way to the peninsula at Playa Castillo is amazing! There's really nice, sandy beaches just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, and chill out bars on the end of walk bridges. We recommend that if your funds can stretch to it, pay extra for a suite like we did, and lord it in the penthouse!

Great family resort. Really clean. Our room was cleaned daily and beds made fresh every day. Food and entertainment was awesome. And there is plenty to do in the area. All staff have been super friendly. I would recommend this destination highly. Thankyou Alba Sara

Was told by tour operators it was relaxing hotel but its anything but. Pool party's with balls and inflatables every day. Pools not deep enough to swim in. Noise from service yard night and day along with building works. Staff work very hard and are always helpful. Glad to get home for some sleep.

Upon looking to book another holiday later this year, I realised I had forgotten to review this hotel from our previous visit! Myself and my partner stayed in mid January of this year for a week. Overall, we had an really lovely time! The rooms, like others have said, are slightly dated, but the bed is comfy enough, plenty of space for clothes, a decent sized bathroom and a lovely balcony overlooking the beach. We didn’t really spend much time in the room anyway, so the fact it wasn’t phenomenal really wasn’t an issue - it was perfectly fine for us! The food was absolutely lovely. There was always a wide variety, with a different theme each night. There’s also a separate restaurant with an actual menu that we were able to book in for one night. That was really nice too! Made for a very nice date night and a lovely end to our holiday. The staff were wonderful. I’ve seen other reviews saying how miserable they were, but that was not the case for us at all! Maybe because we treated them like actual human beings (My partner and I have both worked in the service industry so we know what people can be like!) and made conversations with them - everyone we met was welcoming and friendly. Especially those on the animation team - one man in particular who was younger like us would always come over to my partner and high five him, say hello, etc etc. The entertainment was also really good. There was always stuff happening upstairs at the main bar and also downstairs in their broadway bar (which is where we went most evenings). Now we went in January, so it wasn’t the busiest of times nor the warmest, so I can’t speak of what it would be like in peak seasons. The main pools were a bit too cold for us most of the time (there were some people braving it though), but the jacuzzi was nice and warm and there were plenty of sunbeds. There’s a nice little town about a 20 minute walk away to visit, and there’s lots of excursions you can do (we booked through Jet2) Overall, we would definitely return. There are a couple of areas around the hotel that could use some love, but none of it was an issue for us. Oh, and there’s a beautiful waterfall right in the middle of the hotel! Definitely recommend for families but also for couples like us!

For the price we paid, we cannot fault this hotel. We don't nit-pick and just get on with things. Food menu changed every day, fairly good quality and choice, very relaxed atmosphere - this is March I suppose. Staff are brilliant, very helpful and fun. Right on the beach, 25min casual coastal walk to the town center, no real need to go there though, marina is nice but town is poor enough. Lovely off road walk to salt museum on the other side. Would visit hotel again no hesitation.

We really loved staying at this hotel. Rooms are big and spacious. Food is great and the entertainment is superb. The animation team work so hard to ensure everyone is having a good time and there are lots of events day and night for all the family. Staff are polite and helpful and very understanding with children. Would definitely return. Showers and air conditioning could definitely do with improvements but minor issues on an otherwise excellent holiday for our family.

We stayed here for a week through a Jet2 holiday. As a family we had a lovely relaxing time. Great points include: - all the staff were very friendly and helpful - The rooms we had were a good size, well maintained - Enjoyed the food which was tasty and a good variety - The entertainment team were amazing - Short transfer time - Handy shopping centre next door Would I come back here again? It is a “yes” from us.

Our 5th (and won't be our last) visit to this brilliant hotel. Staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, especially with the kids. Great food, great drinks (branded too 🤗) loads of stuff going on all day (brilliant pool party) but peaceful on a night. If you want the best family holiday in the Canaries then look no further 😎🤗 Can't wait to go back.

A short 1km walk to the strip. Hotel service is excellent. Food Is good. Hotel is spotless. Had a first floor room which gave access to the pools without lifts.

Fantastic holiday, Arry behind the bar is absolutely brilliant and looked after us 😀 Seale the life guard is just lovely, friendly and very helpful to everyone. This is my 3rd stay at this hotel and will definitely not be my last.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Some of the negative reviews made us think, "Oh god, what have we done, but let me be honest, the staff was out of this world, and the entertainment team did such a fantastic job I can see why they are now taking the time to renovate the hotel ready for next season as some parts need a little tlc but still a beautiful hotel food was lovely some nights better than others but its personal choice of food type I guess but I enjoyed each plate full. Although they dont give bottled water out, there are fresh water fountains at hand, so it's not a big issue I thought thanks for making our stay great

Loveky holiday! Great location, food and drinks are very good quality, and entertainment team work very hard. We stayed whilst the hotel was at full capacity and it was stilll running very well. We always managed to find a table in the restaurant and got sunbeds in the morning. Couple of things that they could improve is the aircon did not work and the rooms could do with update as looking a bit worn. Would definitely stay again!

Just returned from an enjoyable and relaxing stay at Elba Sara. The 10 minute transfer time is the biggest bonus. Upon arrival we were greeted by Stefano, who was very enthusiastic and quickly explained everything we needed to know. We arrived around 10pm and were told that the kitchen was preparing food for late arrivals that would be ready for 10:30pm. This gave us time to get to our room and freshen up before enjoying a small selection of food. The Room: Junior Suite was very spacious. It had Queen size bed, sofa, chair and desk with still plenty of room. There was a bathroom and dressing/wardrobe area. On day 1 we noticed the bed was very unstable and noticed a couple of legs were missing from the head end. A quick call to reception and it was fixed in an hour. There was a decent sized balcony that had the sun on it first thing in the morning. We had a couple of days with a strong smell of cannabis coming from a nearby room! I think it was the room next door because we could smell it in our room, even when the door was shut. For a room that is cleaned daily, the floor was constantly dirty. I couldn't even think of walking barefoot after seeing how dirty my feet got! The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working, so steam and smells hung around. The pool: The pool area is nice. There is a small childs pool off to the side and two other pools. We only went in the one so can't comment on the other, but it's a nice clean pool, not too cold and there's plenty of space, even with other people in. If you want a sunbed, you need to be up early as there are people throwing towels on before the sun is even up. On the day we left, we were up early and I looked out and saw people using torches in the dark to find sunbeds! All sunbeds are "reserved" by around 8am. There were a few days I saw people walking around looking disappointed that there were none left straight after breakfast. Restaurants: Albatross: There was no AC whilst we were there and it gets very warm and uncomfortable in there. The food is ok. As with other reviews, there isn't much of a choice and it isn't the warmest food. The restaurant isn't the cleanest. The plates were dirty! I had to search through the stack for a clean plate and then still ended up having to clean the plate with a napkin before putting food on it! In my opinion, there is a lot of wasted space in the restaurant. There is a very small area for food and a very large area of seating that seemed to be half closed(?) or just not being used. They could use some of that space for food display and then have more choice and people won't be tripping over each other in the small area available at the moment. The Toucan restaurant (beach bar) also has a small selection of food and drink available throughout the day, but you also need to be careful of cleanliness here. A few times I had to return drinks as the glasses were dirty and the drinks had bits floating in them. We received a voucher for a meal in the Toucan restaurant which we were looking forward to. My wife ordered Penne pasta with Arrabbiata sauce and I ordered Fusilli with Vegetable sauce. When the food arrived, the Fusilli had the Arrabbiata sauce on and the Penne had the Vegetable sauce on. So we had to swap dishes! Then for dessert I ordered what was described on the menu as chocolate with fruit and crunchy cookie. I was given a chocolate mousse that had no fruit and no cookie! The Area: The beach directly in front of the hotel is very rocky. There is a small shopping mall next to the hotel. It has a few clothing shops, a hairdresser, a Spar supermarket, cinema and Indian restaurant. A 20/30 minutes walk and you'll find a few shops and restaurants and a nice sandy beach. A bit further up and you'll find a marina offering boat trips (glass bottom boat) and Dolphin trips. There's not much around the marina apart from hotels and villas. There is also a larger beach with toilets and camels. In my opinion the hotel in general is good, but a few bits need changing. It needs updating in places and cleaning needs to be better.

It was a fun hotel with helpful employees and many fun entertainment for children. One complaint: my mother left her shoes in our hotel room, when she came back, they had gone. I know there is not much that can be done about his issue, but they are definitely missing. But apart from that, It's a amazing hotel.

Nice enough hotel, food and drinks decent and plentiful. Pool very clean and non-stop entertainment during the day around and in it (not for everyone). Quiet in rooms at night and the air con is a blessing after a hot day.

I'm here on my last day and just writing this before I go down to dinner. I won't repeat what others have said but the last few recent reviews are spot on, the hotel does need a refurb and food is sometimes cold (this isn't good enough when it comes to food) the snack bar needs covering and they need to change the burger recipe sorry. Room cleaning also needs to be better, not just the towels please. Aircon is weak in room and definitely needed in the bar area and restaurants. However the staff are nice, drinks a plenty and good amounts. Rooms don't share too much "other room" noise and a nice view from the 6 floor and the local town is lovely. Hats off to the bar staff they're amazing 🤩and to add the airplanes dont disturb you at all! Would be interesting to see the refurb at the end of the year this could be a really really nice hotel. It's still not a bad one as it is and still worth a stay. Anyway I'm off to the Italian hope it's better than other dining experiences here..... .....Update the Italian was very nice, best food in the hotel!!!

All the staff were extremely helpful with any requests we had, good entertainment throughout the hotel and lots of choice of food for half board. The rooms were brilliant, decor is more traditional but clean and spacious and the junior suite was the highlight! Only downside is cash can’t be used to purchase food or drinks which we didn’t realise beforehand (however this is becoming more common everywhere) highly recommended and hope to return next year!

Overall really enjoyed my stay here, staff are really friendly and helpful, good location next to the beach and a few local shops nearby also a really great little bar down by the sea. Probably more suited as a family hotel (plenty of activities for the kids) or for people using the golf course, found it a bit quiet for our age group (25) but great for a chilled holiday by the pool and did get involved with the water volleyball! Only reason for not giving a five star is a few bits are looking a bit tired (tiles missing in the pool) and a few of the food options weren't the best.

We have just returned from our 5th stay at Hotel Elba Sara. We always get such a sense of peace and relaxation as soon as we walk through the front doors. The reception, lobby and stairs down to the ground floor level is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and clean. It was unfortunate that the room we were given, 531 was more of a view of the shopping centre roof, however you could still see the sea. We didn't worry about it as we don't stay long in the room. The plus side was as it was so far and away from the main hub of the hotel and pool area, it was nice and peaceful. It was quite sad, as we have been here many times, to see a decline in very basic standards. We fully understand because, of a complete shut down due to Covid, savings have to be made everywhere and in our opinion it reflected in the level of staffing and cleanliness. The sunbeds have seen better days and we're OK comfort wise, however they were very dirty and grubby as were the little plastic tables. The cushions to the outside furniture we also very also stained and grubby. There were several occasions when my wife had to report to reception that there wasn't any toilet tissue or hand towels in the ladies toilets, all basic stuff really. There was a great range of good quality food in the restaurant. We stayed for 10 nights and we were never stuck for choice. Themed nights etc. In the evenings my wife and I enjoy dressing smartly and going for dinner. We like to take our time in the restaurants as this forms the main part of our evenings. The restaurant atmosphere is perfectly adequate for dealing efficiently with large numbers of people and families. It functions very well to suit that purpose for the majority. It does close at 10pm but starts closing down around 9.15pm, so best to go early. So all in all, due to our many previous visits, to us personally, it was a bit of a let down. However, please do not be put off by our own personal thoughts and experiences as families especially, will have a great time. We stayed all inclusive and can not really complain as it is terrific value for money.

It's a pretty nice hotel with very good management. It's a bit outdated but well maintained. Isabel at the reception was so nice and helpful, she is amazing and Hermano (I believe) is just a star. Amazing example when people do their job with all the heart. The only and biggest issue I had was the lack of water everywhere! I was not allowed to have even glass of water during dinner, that's ridiculous! I paid £180 per night with half board food and when I came to have dinner to the restaurant I was told that I am not even allowed to have a glass of water, I need to pay for any drink I wanna have. At least they did not say anything when I gave water to my baby form her bottle, I was really angry and ready to argue about that too. That's a shame, I won't be back here because of so awful company policy!

The service at Elba Sara was outstanding.Every member of staff was so helpful. The Hotel needs new chairs/ sofas in the bar area. The bedrooms could do with a refurb, but they are roomy and have a good balcony with sea view, beds are really comfortable and the bathrooms spacious and clean. Food and drinks were good enough. On the whole The Sara could do with some refurbishing. Location is fine, a nice coast side path winds its way to the town centre.

Just had a great stay at Elba Sara Hotel , rooms are large and spacious , beds comfortable and rooms cleaned and towels changed on a daily basis ,bathrooms large bright and clean. Restaurant always had an extensive range of food available and their was plenty of choice available, quality of food was very good . Staff were pleasant and helpful even with limited English. Near bye beaches were brilliant and no more than a few minutes walk. 20 min flat walk to near bye bars and restaurants and only 3 to 4 euros back in a taxi Really enjoyed our stay , the hotel provided what we had paid for , a chilled out and enjoyable holiday , only thing I would say is our first few days were during kids holidays so was a bit boisterous with kids enjoying themselves however place changed when they had headed home at the end of school holidays it was far quieter .

Good AI hotel. Ok it's a bit dated decor wise but the service is superb, the pool is good, it is spotlessly clean and the general atmosphere is happy 😀 Food is good, just don't expect superb gourmet dishes. If you only eat burgers, pizza and chips then you'll get bored. The Spanish food on offer is good. Location is a bit out of town. Walkable to the town and market but there's not much going on in the town itself. The staff at this place are excellent and work so so hard. They make the hotel what it is.

Lovely hotel, food great and plentiful. Was there with my daughter and grandchildren on 6 October. The children’s club and the entertainment team were the best I’ve ever seen they were all so talented. Lovely grounds and pool area and plenty of sun beds. Will definitely go back. Only thing was the rooms could do with a freshen up, but it were clean and for all the time you spend in the room it was a minor point.

  • 3/5 Phil B. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is down as a four star, certainly in the past it may have been, but the furnishings let it down as they are worn and tired looking. The room was nice and a great view if the sea. The fold away bed which doubled as the rooms sofa was well past its sell by date and uncomortable to sit on. On our 5th day the hotel closed the smaller swimming pool and there were workmen there for 3 days chipping the tiles off with hammer drills. There was no warning or apology from the hotel which was very disappointing. It is set up for those on all inclusive and for those on half board they dont have a snack menu any more, you can only get some info by using QR codes. We wanted to see about the spa, but the QR code only took us to a front page and gave no details on costs or treatments. On the plus side the food was fine we always found something we liked and the staff were great. It needs some investment particularly to the furnishings. Oh and if you go with TUI dont expect any help from the reps it is covered only by the app 24/7 service which is useless. Told them about the pool and they could not get through to the hotel by phone so gave up!

10 mins from shopping centre, rooms clean and comfortable. Only thing was the heated pool was drained the day after we arrived. Workmen drilling since 8am....till 4pm. Other pools open though. Staff 1st class as was food. Would come again. Entertainment for adults was a bit hit and miss because of acts failing to turn up.

Good hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Plenty choice at the buffet. Rooms are nice with sea and pool view. Hotel has large foyer, reception and bar area. Down stairs is the restaurant and the entertainment room - used by families. Also has entertainment in the bar reception area. Loud entertainment downstairs for families. More subdued upstairs for adults. The large reception area has a large fountain which looks good but is annoyingly noisy. Relief when it's turned off at 9.00pm and you don't have to raise your voice to be heard. It's a large hotel with 3 pools in large grounds overlooking the sea. Free bus to golf course. Wasn't fully occupied in Jan 2022.
