Modern cathedral in the centre of Vilnius. Has a nice collection of art, sculptures. Nothing too special to mention but free to visit and have a look around when you in the centre of Vilnius. Have a small shop in the side where you could buy small figurines of angels and cherubs. Worth a visit

One of the many large and beautiful Vilnius churches. A beautiful building, a huge monument, which is made up of several parts. It is in amazing condition, clean, renovated and very well maintained. The entrance is free, there are not many tourists and it is definitely worth a visit.

Vilnius Cathedral in Vilnius Visited on 1/10/2019 The full name is The Cathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Ladislaus. There are two architectural structures - the Cathedral and the Bell Tower. The Cathedral was rebuilt several times as a result of frequent fires, wars and unstable soil under its foundation. The building currently reflects the Classicist style, not entirely that spectacular, but the altar and the walls in a couple of the chapels have magnificent Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque art works. On the roof of the Cathedral are the three statues of Sts. Stanislaus, Helena and Casimir. The Bell Tower, next to the Cathedral, is one of the symbols of Vilnius. The city’s oldest clock at the top of the tower chimes its bells to invite people to mass.

(Translated by Google) The space where the cathedral stands is open, something like the center of the activity of daily life. It is not very spectacular compared to others in Europe, but very collected and pleasant. It's just a cathedral. I don't really recomend visiting it except if you are in Vilnius during some sort of festival. Then the cathedral often has free concerts and other form of entertainment.

This time we visited the crypts of Vilnius Cathedral. And it must be said that when you think you know a lot about this building, it can only mean one thing - you haven't been under it yet. Although today's Cathedral was only built in the 19th century, its crypts may date back as far as the 15th century, or even earlier. If you want to find out which of the buried rulers of Lithuania have already been found and which have not yet, if you want to experience the feeling of cozy claustrophobia and hear the story of the Romeo and Juliet of the Lithuanian manor - the crypts of the Cathedral are just right for that.

Vilnius Cathedral is the city’s main Roman Catholic cathedral and has been a national symbol for ages. From outside it doesn’t look much like a cathedral, more like a library or museum in fact. The church took on various guises over the next 400 hundred years, and today’s building is largely the result of a late 18th-century French Classicist facelift which stands in contrast to much of the Baroque architecture found in the Old Town. Under Soviet rule, it was used as a warehouse and a picture gallery.

Vilnius Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Ladislaus, is a magnificent Catholic cathedral located in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. It is one of the most significant and iconic landmarks in the country. The cathedral's architectural style is a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque, reflecting the various periods it has undergone renovation and expansion. Its grand facade features intricate details, towering columns, and decorative elements, creating a visually stunning sight. Inside the cathedral, visitors can admire its beautiful interior adorned with ornate sculptures, exquisite altars, and impressive frescoes. The highlight of the cathedral is its stunning Chapel of St. Casimir, dedicated to the patron saint of Lithuania. The chapel is lavishly decorated with intricate stucco work, marble columns, and a stunning altarpiece. Vilnius Cathedral also holds great historical and cultural significance. It has been the site of numerous important events throughout Lithuania's history, including coronations, royal weddings, and funerals. The cathedral is also home to the tomb of Grand Duke Gediminas, one of the most prominent figures in Lithuanian history. Surrounded by the beautiful Cathedral Square, Vilnius Cathedral is not only a place of worship but also a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of national identity. Its stunning architecture, rich history, and cultural significance make it a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Vilnius.

This place was dazzling in the dark on a cloudy winter night. Just right before the new year’s eve. Loved the vibrant lights, christmas lights and high vibes around this place. One of the well maintained and beautiful places in deed in Vilnius old town.

It's a lovely cathedral, but compared to the multitude of other churches Around it kind of fell short of my expectations. The chaple down the back and to the right of the main altar was however a saving grace... Pun absolutely intended

It's worth the visit during the daytime and at sunset, the cross catches the light and it gives it a bit of a golden glimmer/shine. You can also walk in, attend a mass if you want to and view the interior. It's a nice spot for pictures as well

The Cathedral Basilica of St Stanislaus and St Ladislaus of Vilnius is the main Roman Catholic Cathedral of Lithuania. It is situated in Vilnius Old Town, just off Cathedral Square. Dedicated to Saints Stanislaus and Ladislaus, the church is the heart of Catholic spiritual life in Lithuania. Architectural style: Neoclassical architecture Opened: 1783

The cathedral is more ornate on the exterior and quite simply inside, although worth a quick visit as free. If you want to visit a tour for panoramic views, l'd suggest the university tower as higher.

The main cathedral of Vilnius) It has a rich history. It is believed that the cathedral was built on the site of a pagan temple. The first mention of the church refers to the 13th century and is associated with the name of King Mindaugas. The coronations of Lithuanian rulers were held here. The cathedral looks large, majestic and solemn but it has a quite modest interior decoration. There are beautiful paintings inside; some of them are real masterpieces. Must visit 💯

Vilnius Cathedral is a captivating architectural marvel, boasting impressive neoclassical design and historical significance. The grandeur of its facade and intricate interior detailing make it a must-visit cultural landmark. The serene atmosphere inside, coupled with the religious artifacts and artwork, adds to the overall experience. The cathedral square, surrounding the structure, is a charming place to stroll and soak in the city's ambiance. However, it's advisable to check for any ongoing renovations, as this might impact the full visual experience. In essence, Vilnius Cathedral offers a delightful blend of history, art, and tranquility.

Although from the outside it doesn’t look like the most impressive of cathedrals there’s a lot of beauty when you get up close. Intricate carvings on the ceiling and statues on the adjacent walls are worth taking a few moments to discover up close. The square outside gives plenty of space to admire the building from every angle and the clock tower makes it even more unique against other cities. It’s a relaxing spot, great for photos with the castle hill in the background, and any visit to the city wouldn’t be complete without a visit.

For a Cathedral, it was relatively simple in it's internal decoration. Nonetheless, it was a quiet place of devotion and much visited by local people.

Vilnius Cathedral is probably the best located cathedral that I've seen. Owing to the wonderful location and setting, it and the immediate surroundings attract many many young people and passers-by. Amazing history, and probably my No 1 pic for a cathedral in Europe that I've come across. Inside, it has a lovely but also understated elegant beauty. This is quite unusual and nice... personally I find the internal decoration, if you like, of cathedrals a little over the top. One doesn't need that in a religious facility. Nearby is the river, several major historic sites, and of course the main Promenade of the city. Amazing location and beauty.

(Translated by Google) You cannot miss the cathedral, when you walk through the prestigious Gedimo Prospektas to the old town of Vilnius. It looks like a Roman temple with its bright white columns and its triangular pediment…. With a bell tower, sloping and loose in front of it, dating from the 14th century, when it was still a defense tower - we can see the loopholes from afar. The church, originally from the 13th century, is the first Christian church in Lithuania, but in this classical style it has only been there since 1801. It is a hall church, with three naves, the shape of the old cathedral from the 16th century. Renovations and renovations after fires, looting and wars, the building has had all architectural styles, from Gothic, through Renaissance and Baroque to the current classicist style. It is a history book that fits the turbulent history of the country, which has had so many rulers! In fact, after WWII, the building was an art gallery for many years, and it was only since the Catholic dedication mass on February 5, 1989 that the cathedral has been part of the religious life in Vilnius again! Then the remains of St. Casimir were also taken back to the Casimir Chapel. The interior space is sleek, white and therefore radiates space. The old 15th century hall church was also completely classical decorated. Heavy square columns with sleek uniform paintings, and beautifully stucco capitals. The beautiful stucco on the edges in the roof, the decorative moldings that suggest that they are Gothic crossbows, are not lavish, but are entirely in keeping with the style of the building. The beautiful octagonal dome above the Casimir Chapel (with golden spire) is beautiful and light. The pulpit on one of the columns and the altar are pure in style. The tabernacle and baptismal font have a longer history. I think it is a beautiful building, but not an impressive cathedral. Well worth a visit!
