(Translated by Google) Beautiful beautiful church. The late Gothic church is located in the Old Town of Vilnius, built in 1516. It is interesting that it used to have a protective function, so there are shooting openings in its walls. It was rebuilt several times and closed during the Soviet occupation. (Original) Gyönyörű szép templom. A késő gótikus templom Vilnius óvárosában található, építésének időpontja 1516.

The Church of St. Francis and St. Bernard (a.k.a. Bernardine Church) is a Roman Catholic Church in the Old Town of Vilnius. It is dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi and Bernardino of Siena. The red brick church built at the end of the 15th century and consecrated in 1516, it’s is an important example of Gothic architecture in Lithuania. It is both an example of lathe gothic and brick Gothic architecture styles. During the passage of time it was severely damaged, thus the current look of the church at some point was finished with baroque style details. On the inside, it’s very simple, somewhat ascetic, but beautiful nevertheless. In my humble opinion, a must visit when in Vilnius.

A beautiful catholic church where you feel peaceful and serene) Together with St.Anne's Church it sets a wonderful architectural ensemble. The church looks majestic and has a rich interior decoration. A high ceiling, massive columns, the eighteenth-century wooden altars, stained glass windows and large lancet windows. It's a quite good example of Gothic with elements of Baroque. My recommendation!

Nice English-language mass Sunday at 900. The church has occasional art exhibits within its sprawling complex. Diverse group of regulars and visitors. Nice group of Franciscan priests with varying language ability. Always a beggar upon exit seeking help

Build in the beggining of the 16th century, the Bernardine church is dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi and to St. Bernard of Siena. With mixture of Gothic, Barouq and Renaissance features, the church is a must visit touristic attraction, especially as it is important history building for town ; the church was in 16th century even integrated in city defence walls, so in these days you can still find a shooting holes in some of the church walls. Otherwise the church itself is significantly bigger than nearby St. Anne's Church, but in no way so beautiful as its smaller neighbour. Stil you can find an interesting design on church outside and inside structure, while it is worth to mention that in present time (in year 2019) there are restoration work in progress inside church, so you will not be able to enjoy in all what is usually offering - it will be better, and nicer, when all restoration work will finish - you can ask for guided tour, as sometimes it can be available. The church is located close to the strickt town center, so from there you can walk just for a few minutes, while parking places can be found around, in neighbourhood. Because of stairs, placed at the church entrance, the access to church is more difficult for people with disabilities, and you can not find a public toilet or cash machines close to church either - also there is no bars or restaurants in immediate vicinity of church so you have to search for those (not so far) away from church location.

One of the most known and visited tourist destination of Vilnius for people above their 30s that have not visited Vilnius for having only a bachelor party and get wasted. It’s not the most impressive church-monastery but it offers many wonderful exhibits and vey often the central altar presents religious artworks and operates as a small discrete gallery, with different artworks at different periods/seasons. Amazing architecture which shows the authentic Lithuanian wall brick cover of building that you cannot enjoy anymore. Take the extra step and go inside since you probably will pass it many times.

Cool church, though its neighbor St Anne’s is more impressive, in my opinion. Regardless, consider it a “two-fer” & obviously visit both (you basically can’t see one without the other anyway, heh). The brick work on both is stunning, & both come alive as the sun begins to set…

(Translated by Google) This is my favorite church. This is a favorite wedding place for Lithuanian youth, so there is a bright energy. Also, children are baptized in the church and it is fashionable to order services. Inside you can buy a wooden pectoral cross in the shape of a "hammer", with three knots on a string of monks. And if you ask the ksenza, he will illuminate him with holy water for the health of the wearer. In the church, you can make a donation for the restoration of this holy place. Do not go through this holy place, it is located right behind the Church of St. Anne, so beloved by Napoleon.

A really beautiful church with great architecture and interior features. I think it might often get overlooked as it sits further back than it's neighbour St Anne's Church. If you're going to see one church you should definitely take the time to explore both.

(Translated by Google) I attend Mass on Sunday. In the long run, I fell in love with this church, although at first it seemed very bland to me against the background of St. Anne. But there is a lot to be found in it, to understand. Maybe just get to know the parishioners and co-workers more carefully, because most of them are scams :) but don't forget that Mr. God also visits there, invited to Self-Sacrifice and anyway, and this adds humor and surprises to the events in the church. Her frescoes, stained glass ... those frescoes where behind the small door on the left, on the vaulted ceiling - sacred thirds in buds. Priests ... Especially Julius S. Her chapel with Magdalene, Mary, the Crucified Christ, her attempt to accept the criminal and the beaten in the hallway, her asses (as she was dragged out of the grid for an hour!), Goats ... her apple tree in the cemetery, her still beggars (church columns) holding the same places, her strange patron - Bernardine, who sympathizes with advertising, TV and radio; its thickness. (Original) Lankau sekmadienį mišias. Ilgainiui pamylau šią bažnyčią, nors pradžioje ji man šv.Onos fone atrodė labai nesgrabna.

I recommend you look for a tour on their website. It's free, you have to register in advance by simply sending them an email. The tours are held on weekends, they will take you to see the underground, walk you through the courtyard, the church itself and let you climb up to the attic.

(Translated by Google) St. Francis Church, also called Bernadine Church (Vilniaus šv. Pranciškaus Asyžiečio Bernardinų parapija) is a Catholic church in the historic center of Vilnius, built in a monumental Brick Gothic style together with St. Anne's Church. There are also gothic, renaissance, baroque and rococo features, and this has everything to do with wars, fires and looting, which have required renewal time and again. The church was built around 1500, but after looting and fires in the Polish-Russian war, the church had to be rededicated in 1676. Napoleon's campaign brought further damage, and the Russian occupier turned the monastery into barracks. The church was closed after WWII and used as a depot for the Art Institute for a while. After Lithuania's independence, the building was returned to use by the Roman Catholic Church in 1994. As a church council you would get tired of all that misery! The interior is warm in color due to all the wood used! In addition to the main altar in the choir, the ten other wooden rococo altars around the pillars are made - they date from around 1780. We see icons (always hanging at eye level so that they can be kissed by the faithful), paintings and many carvings. The 'warmth' is enhanced by the people who attend the church and quietly sit by the altars to pray and meditate.
