So much history there, and the short clip to watch in the hiding spot is great.

This is a small, but hugely relevant exhibition. In itself, its datedness and its old-fashioned pedagogical approach this shows the rampant neglect of Jewish history and the history of the German occupation in contemporary Lithuanian culture of memory. But there is hope under the roof. A young and dedicated Austrian volunteer is trying something new. See for yourself.

Very moving experience. Mainly photographic, maps, official documents and accounts from witnesses. Models of ingenious hiding places gave a good idea of the ingnuity of the human spirit to survive. A video played in the attic of this building gives an account of a witness/survivors experience. The documents in the pictures I'm posting with this make chilling, harrowing reading.

Doesn’t have the appearance of a museum- hence the name Green House, but it’s well worth a visit!! A small but very emotional and educational exhibition ! We spent about two hours in there- plenty of informative literature.

This little museum is very informative and inspiring. The guide was 16€ and he was well informed, articulate, and detailed. We really learned so much about the Holocaust in Lithuania and the condition of the Jewish community under the Soviets. I do wish they had more information regarding present day conditions and current issues facing Jews in Lithuania. Fantastic little gem.

Really good representation of victims of the holocaust and in particular one family who escaped the hell of the times so many times only to become a victim later. Sad but well told story across the house. Great staff as well.

You’ll find out why this museum looks like a home when you visit the second floor. It’s too easy to ignore prior atrocities and assume that they won’t be repeated, but that kind of ignorance could lead to future atrocities.

Truly insightful museum about the holocaust. A somber reminder of the atrocities and why it’s important to learn about history so that we do not repeat it. The museum is housed in an actual hideout spot for a Jewish family, they were hiding in the attic until they were discovered and unfortunately killed, you’ll learn about it as you explore the museum. From the outside it doesn’t look like a typical museum at all. It’s text heavy so be prepared to read but there is a wealth of information. I definitely recommend a visit.

Small, but really full of information. Incredibly interesting history of how the Holocaust affected Lithuanian Jews. We were particularly excited to see that the exhibits were translated into Yiddish, so we could get some practice in. The interactive exhibit upstairs was fantastic, but avoid if you have claustrophobia.

Everyone who comes to Vilnius should visit this place. I understand that there are changes coming & a new Holocaust centre will be opening but in the meantime please visit here. It's a devastating witness to the crimes that took place wiping out entire communities. And what the Nazis began, the Soviet regime continued. So much to learn. I would just ask that the museum corrects their opening time which is wrong on their Facebook page.

A lot of written information, and not interactive. This means that you need to devote a relatively long time period for this place in case you wish to understand more about it and the related topics.

This is an informative exhibition about the Jewish experience in Vilnius during the Nazi occupation of the city. It tells a harrowing tale but it's extremely informative. The staff there were particularly friendly compared to some of the places we had visited. There was a really nice young lady who took time to answer all of our questions and even dug out a book to help demonstrate some things. Having someone employed/volunteering at a museum who is genuinely passionate about a subject who is willing to share and talk with visitors takes a museum to the next level.

This place tells the history of Jews in Lithuania from the first half of the 20th century through to the end of world war two. There is some duplication with the ninth fort in kaunas but, both are worth a visit.

Absolutely fantastic experience here, it was a highlight of our trip despite the difficult subject topic. We had an English speaking tour guide to show us round and provide more details about the history of the Jewish population in Lithuania and their plight during the holocaust, unfortunately I can't remember his name but he is from Austria originally and he was fantastic!! Personally we are not Jewish but the whole visit was excellent and we could have spent more time with the guide if we didn't need to be somewhere else.
