This is my favourite art gallery in Vilnius. Set over 2 floors, and on the second floor you will see paintings by a group of Litvak (Lithuanian Jewish) painters under the influence of Paris. Absorbing. Continue on and then you come to a selection of paintings by Chagall. Stupendous. Then further on and some paintings by Blatas. At the end is some artwork of the Lithuanian artist, Kasiulis. Sculptures are also displayed. All in all, a real feast for the eyes. Downstairs was an exhibition of Lithuanian artists as displaced persons who were based in German camps, including portraiture. Both English and Lithuanian script accompany art works. What more do you want? Friendly, helpful staff? They are there. Enjoy!

A good place to visit on a rainy day. Kasiulis is definitely not your typical Lithuanian artist, he had a lot of french influence and his story is very compelling.

(Translated by Google) The ingenious idea of organizing a concert in the hall of a museum as long and narrow as a corridor and putting artists on the short side without a stage ... 12 rows of chairs NOT STAGGERED, no system to show the artists even beyond the first 2 or 3 rows .. Yet there were projectors ready, or you could put the artists on the long side and all the spectators around, or you could put the artists on a raised stage ... In short, there were many ways to make this concert enjoyable but the respect for those who paid 23 euros for the ticket (about 140 people in the dining room) was obviously not there. Very angry. Molto arrabbiato.

I didn't know anything about this artist until my visit to the museum. I really liked most of his works, which are of 3-4 different styles. They are exhibited in the 2nd floor of the museum, while in the 1st there is an exhibition of his personal collection of other Lithuanian artists. A very nice museum that you can visit for 2€ only!

It was extremely disappointing visit. After seeing so many Kasiulisa’s paintings in the Internet and on reception desk I was expecting at least one of his art. Museum should inform visitors better. Current exhibition was pretty nice but small so I couldn’t really appreciate my visit over there.

We took a guided tour and it was quite incredible, especially if one is a lover of art. The museum guide explained well the point of the artists' collection and vision to create much more than an asthetic environment in this labyrythical museum where he and his wife also resided. The open doors for the eye to rest and travel room to room, the atmosphere of contrast created by positioning abstract art next to classical sculptures is quite breathtaking, as is the collection of art books in the library.

(Translated by Google) The concert is not bad at all (accordion), but the venue has already been chosen .... after all, it has bigger halls, but it collapses into the smallest and most un ventilated! You can do it !! Why torture that young russian and the crowd at the same time! Even the boy recovered, when presented in Russian work title ... For most listeners better understand Russian !!

Paid full entrance, but was only allowed to visit the first flour, which houses a rather dull exposition of mainly charcoal and chalk works, and hardly any by Kasiulis' hand. Second floor looked more promissing, however turned out to be a "not yet opened" exhibition about Lithuanian painters in Paris. The floor attendent guided us to the exit to make sure we didn't stay around. Rather unpleasant. Poor communication. Got a stack of postcards as compensation. Nice, but it's not what we came for.
