This museum over 2 floors has a free entry and is focused on the history if currencies in Lithuania. And that's the problem, unless you are a numismatist, and I am not, I found it boring. There is even a display of contemporary Euro notes and coins!!! Having said this, the displays are well-thought-out and information is in English and Lithuanian. The museum is located in lovely small building on the main drag,Gedimino. On your list of things to do and see in Vilnius, put around 15 or 16 or skip altogether. Actually, there is one really good thing I like about this museum. Downstairs there is an interesting painting of a guy tossing a coin I the air!

One of the best museums I've been to. We went there on a guided excursion, it's really worth to book one (free!!!). The guide told a lot of interesting this, which I was unaware of. Interactive parts drew the most attention, of course, but the whole exhibition is really interesting and informative. I loved the wall out of shredded money from various countries. Also the Guiness World record coin pyramid, builtof more than 1 million lithuanian coins. Loads of information to be read. Also, we received some presents: a magnet with a euro picture, a coin (which we pressed ourselves). I also brougt home a printout how much i' be worth if i was made of pure gold (based on your weight). At the end you can go through a quizz and, if your answers are mostly correct, you can receive a printout with an old fashioned banknote with YOUR photo on it :) lots, lots of interesti g information there. Complete opposite of boring! P.s. entrance to museum is FREE!!!

Free entry (just my price point), plenty of information to read up about the history of currency in Lithuania and other parts of the world. Did not expect a coin pressed bookmakr for free, too. Not a big museum, but spent about an hour exploring its 2 levels. Definitely recommended if you've time.

Not in the strict center but worth to go. You pay nothing to enter. Really modern museum. I love the part downstairs where you can weight yourself and see how much is your value in gold/silver/platinium.

Small museum in the centre of Vilnius about money and its history. The museum is not very big, but it is free (yay!) and it houses a piramid made of 1 million cents, which is actually quite cool and impressive to see. The rest of the museum is also quite interesting and even a bit interactive. I'm guessing you won't spend hours there, but it's still worth the (short) visit!

Small but very nice museum. Very unique. The entrance is free. You get free tickets as soon as you go inside. The tour starts from downstairs. There is historical record of money till today. You'll see samples from around the world. Extremely organized museum. The historical descriptions are very informative. I was confused in the beginning but it was more than worth.

Very interesting museum with information about Lithuania's history in both Lithuanian and English. Besides litas, they also have money from different countries around the world. It's free, and there aren't many people so it was a great experience.

(Translated by Google) Great place. A modern, interactive museum, you can touch, pick up, view, strike a coin design, all for free. In the museum you can see a lot of different money from around the world, see what it was made of. There is also a pyramid inside which is too large for one million coins, recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. I heartily recommend. (Original) Świetne miejsce. Nowoczesne muzeum, interaktywne, można dotknąć, podnieść, zobaczyć, wybić wzór monety, a to wszystko za darmo. W muzeum zobaczyć można wiele różnych pieniędzy z wielu zakątków świata, zobaczyć czym sie je wytwarzalo. W środku jest też piramida zbyt owana z miliona monet, zapisana w księdze rekordów Guinnessa. Polecam serdecznie.

Easy to walk past because it has a very invisible frontage! Worth going in - free two-storey museum about the history of money and financial institutions, with a focus on Lithuania. Very interesting. Can take anything from 10 minutes to an hour to explore the exhibits. And it's free to visit!

Very unique museum. It is a must to visit. Interactive and visually displayed objects are incredibly fun to use. For example: How 3mil€ looks like, how much 1kg of gold weights, how many zeros does the longest number have ant etc. It's not that big so within 1-2h you should be able to see everything.
