Review from a highly experienced travel blogger who specialises in budget travel. Trust me when I say, I'd sooner return to the African mud hut I stayed in than this hostel (the hut was much cleaner too) Do some research and you'll notice the bad reviews on here are very specific, the good ones are very brief. So here is an honest in depth review of why you should NOT stay here. The quick summary is highly aggressive owner, skanky showers, unauthorised payments, no vibe, no staff available, musky toilets and filthy beds... more details below. We arrived at 4pm and no one answered the door. There's a WhatsApp number but its no use if your phone is dead or you can't use your sim. Someone left so we managed to get in. No staff on hand. Just an envelope with cards in. Not a huge issue until we saw the state of the rooms. Absolutely disgusting smell, all beds were filthy even the "clean" ones. Toilets were too. We tried to speak to a staff member, but there was no one on hand. We eventually left and came back later. We politely spoke to the new girl about the issue who called the manager. Pete requested to speak with me on the phone and was incredibly aggressive and refused to accept our complaints. I pointed out the numerous issues. Suddenly he was at the check in desk. He'd been there all along but just decided not to respond apparently. Again with his standoff nature and sarcastic tone decided to dramatically "inspect" the room (honestly the guy could have won an oscar for his performance). Obviously then refused to acknowledge the state of it. After the 10th time aggressively asking me "What's up man" not wanting to yet again explain the obvious, requested he cancel the booking immediately and waiver the fee for the room. He reluctantly agreed (still complaining) and said to email the hostel about cancelling for his records. Interestingly, the very second we left the hostel, an unauthorised payment was taken out. Something a lot of other people have complained about. Having stayed in over 200 hostels and never having an issue, I'm astounded by the level of unprofessional behaviour and aggression from the owner. Looking forward to another one of Petes sarcastic responses to this review (we're currently in an email war as he has gone back on his word) He claims I never asked for the fee to be waivered (as if I would happily pay for something so decieving) Looks like we won't be getting a refund but I hope this review can help a few people choose somewhere better to stay and not make the same mistake we did! So for the 11th time Pete, that's what's up man.

Overall, the hostel was quite good based on my experience. I liked the fact that it has a no-shoe policy inside, which means it's cleaner. However, there weren't many people staying during my visit, so the atmosphere was somewhat dead. The dorm was clean, although the bed could use a new mattress as it wasn't very comfortable. They do provide privacy curtains. Fortunately, I was able to choose my own bed and opted for the bottom one. This was also because I noticed that there weren't enough outlets, and those sleeping on the top bunk had none. Lockers were provided and had enough space to store valuables. The showers could use some updating, and it takes quite a long time for the water to become warm enough. I also noticed that most of the time, there wasn't any staff available, which could be problematic for arriving guests since both doors are locked, and a code is required to enter. The best aspect of this hostel is probably its location, as it's situated right in the historical center of Vilnius.

The hostel is Ok, well located and clean but... the beds were not very comfortable compared with other hostels I have been and the two nights I spent there I woke up feeling itchy and scratchy...

One of the worst experience ever had in a hostel; everything was dirty and uncomfortable. Higiene is an unknown word. Walls are made of paper so you can hear any single noise in the entire hostel. the only good thing is the location that's perfect but if you are going to visit Vilnius and the KGB Museum keep in mind that sleeping in the sovietic prisons will be more comfortable than sleeping in this hostel's beds

it was the best hostel i stayed in. we stayed for 2 nights with my friends. they were very polite and sweet from the moment we arrived. there is a small kitchen and a great area to sit. i can guarantee you will feel at home. board games and guitar spiced up our time there. we miss you and your spider jelly beans already! even though we have visited almost everywhere in vilnius, i would like to come again just to stay here. thanks for everything…❤️

Date of stay: 4-8/08/2023 Nice little hostel, located in the old town of Vilnius. The service was fantastic, for the most part. This young Aussie chick who works there did throw my water bottle away that was sitting on the shelf above my bed when she was cleaning the room, just because it was empty. And when I returned and asked her if she threw it away, she admitted it straight away without any remorse or even an apology when she was still there cleaning, even after I told her that I was reusing it 🙄. But nonetheless, Indria (sorry not sure how to spell your name) and Marta the other staff members are absolute legends. Shoutout to you ladies 🙏🏼. The common area is alright, equiped with a little bar and so are the rooms. The upstairs shower is a bit oddly designed though. The ceiling slopes right above your head, making it a bit difficult to stand and hold the shower nozzle as there is no holder for it, but it’s not that big of a deal. Vilnius is an absolutely amazing and beautiful city and I’ll definitely be back, and would definitely stay at this hostel again

Out of the 25 or so hostels I’ve stayed in, this is one of my top three. The place really felt like being home. It truly felt like I was hanging out in a friends family room. Marta led us out each night for an awesome time and the location is perfect to hit the town. Thanks for being so awesome!

Cozy, clean, and good vibe hostel. Always my 1st opinion when I get to Vilnius. Staff are always available to help. Laundry service available for 8 euros. Bar on site and also very centrally located. Highly recommended 👌.

Avoid this place! The receptionist lied to me and eventually tried to gnab some extra money from me, luckily BookingDOTcom helped me out and it didn't work out for them. I have every single piece of proof and evidence if anyone's wondering. :-)

Nice hostel. My friend and I had a late check in so were left the keys to the room in the reception in order to get inside it. When we got to our room there was only one bed available so we had to call the management for help at 2 AM. Thankfully they were extremely nice and moved us to an empty room upstairs. I would definitely recommend the hostel and believe our situation was a total misunderstanding.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Staff were super friendly. And the beers here were great too. The others staying in hostel were lovely people too and I felt a general safe atmosphere. The only thing was that the bottom ensuite bathroom had a plumbing issue, where water was flowing from the top of the toilet to the bowl in the wrong area. It didn't flush well, and caused a smell but that can be solved with help of a plumber. Also wanted waffles but they didn't have even though it was advertised. They looked so good! Overall lovely place for a great price. I would definitely go here again. Thank you guys for a lovely stay.

I arrived at 2 am, they have a on-call number that works also on WhatsApp, they answered straight away and let me in and get my room key by myself like I was a friend. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, the hostel is clean, well organised and the location can't be better. I haven't had the chance to take more. pictures but the hostel have a good reputation for a reason.

Nice welcoming staff, small kitchen ( they threw away our labelled food..) the floor in the bathrooms gets wet easily and there is only two showers. The dorms are nice with lockers and curtains. It is adjacent to the busy street and everywhere is walkable.

Pretty poor standards. They make you take off your shoes to keep the hostel clean but the floors were still dirty. Bathrooms were musty. Sociability was awkward given how small the reception is. Only positive point is the location

Very great hostel! Unexpectedly needed a place to sleep in Vilnius and was immediately helped by very friendly staff. Love the no shoe policy, the hostel is very clean. Slept amazing on the bed and that all for an amazing price too. Would definitely come back to Vilnius just to enjoy this hostel for more than 1 night.

Everyone was extremely friendly, facilities were very clean and great vibe overall! Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Vilnius. I forgot a couple items and they were extremely helpful with sending my forgotten items after me for which I am very grateful!!

This place is extraordinary, didn't answer the door despite coming 3 times on the day I checked in yet still charging me with unauthorized transactions on my card. Will follow-up with authorities. There is something not right about this place, go elsewhere.

This hostel was highly recommended by other travel bloggers like myself that it felt like a no brainer. Expect a social hostel, in a great location of the city. Staff were helpful and allowed us to keep our backpacker luggage with them when we did a 1 day trip to a nearby town, which saved our backs immensely. Only downside, which is completely out of the hostel’s control was the early 7am noice you hear outside from construction.

It's a hostel not the 4 seasons. Adjust expectations according. Great hostel, chill & helpful staff. Great location & activities.

First time staying in Hostel for me, very social and clean. Staff are great as well, gave a quick intro to the city and map for directions. Close to most shops and amenities in the city. Met several new people during the stay which was nice when travelling solo. Only improvements I'd suggest is to get the beds fixed so they are less creaky and also make space somewhere to leave our towels to dry. I found out my towel I left to dry in the laundry area was missing on my return which was slightly annoying.. but on a positive side it made more space in my bag to buy more souvenir gifts :D

Pros: Central location in Old Town, bright common area, beautiful views from rooms & terrace. Cons: Not enough outlets, especially for those on top bunks + rushed showers, as very few and people waiting. Skylight is nice ventilation though.

I had a good stay, only wish that they had women’s room only. It was a clean place and they answered any questions I had. Towel is not included I believe you have to pay a fee to rentZ

Great hostel in the very middle of the touristic city center. Within walking distance from the main attractions, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The street is well lit at night and I felt very safe even when walking alone at night. The staff is absolutely amazing. Very nice and helpful. Every morning from 9 to 12 you can have free waffles at the common room. The room I stayed in was very spacious with big lockers and had a bathroom. Beds are comfortable and have a small curtain so you can have some privacy. The pillow wasn't great but it's not a big deal for just a couple of nights. I really recommend this hostel. ;)

Felt like I was staying at my uncles house, staff was super cool, great location, funny guests, and good amenities. A German man threatened me with an Axe and accused me of being a Russian spy - that’s just life though

Fantastic spot in the centre of Vilnius. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful—even letting me hang around the common area/reception while I waited for an overnight bus after checking out. Only serious downside was the beds in my room. All were creaky, which meant anyone moving woke the rest of us up. Easily fixed with earplugs (if they don't fix the beds), so take note. The toilets were all clean, which was a welcome discovery on a very long trip. The no shoes policy was good for keeping ice and mud out, but quite a few people carried dirt in anyway on grotty sandels. Overall a great experience and if I'm ever back in Vilnius, this will be my first choice of hostel!

The hostel is located right in the heart of Old town. I could park my motorcycle inside safely at no extra cost. The kitchen is fully loaded. The owner Peter is a jolly good fellow

This is the worst hostel experience of my life. I made a reservation at Hostelworld and paid extra money for a free cancellation, until a few days before my arrival. What is my surprise that I cancel my stay 1 month before and I am charged and I write to Hostelworld and they tell me that they don't know why it happened, I talk to the hostel and the hostal tells me that after 2 days from the booking they charge me for the whole stay. And I had a free cancellation message until the end of the month. Do not book anything in this hostel, they will only take your money. Deplorable I will pray for it to close.

It seems like this has been a really nice place, has a lot of potential but when you book take into consideration, that many of the good reviews are from about 5 years in the past. The social area has a vibe with the right people and I bet that you have fun pub crawls here on the weekend, price is also very pleasant for the central spot in the city but the toilets on the hallway smelled really bad most of the time, the mattresses are really worn out (which would match that it was greater back in the days) and most of the outlets in the room did not work, so the 2 stars are to balance a bit more considering the current situation in comparison with the rest of the Baltics and as hygiene and the bed are the essentials…. Apart from that the people who work there was really cool, including the fantastic laundry service for 8 €.

Weird place. Dead atmosphere and the owner is a money-grabber. Kicked us out because his mates at the cigar bar next door where you should also avoid tried ripping me off and the police came to the room, then refused to send the refund despite saying he would. So I paid for 5 nights and got 1 with no refund. Stayed at Downtown Forest afterwards. Much more of a social vibe and friendly staff there :)
