This review is about what happened when I walked into this church a couple of nights ago. The only person present inside was a woman who was selling candles, icons, etc. in the corner kiosk inside the church. She was casually chatting on her cell phone and she went berserk when I asked her a simple question about the church. Obviously with my question i interrupted her chat and it made her beyond rude. She quickly became enraged to the point that she put her cell phone down, left her station at the kiosk, stormed past me into the annex where printed handouts about the church were kept, and pointing at them she angrily chastised me for bothering her with a question while info I was looking for was right there. What was meant to be short and peaceful pilgrimage into this church on my one-day trip to Vilnius, turned out to be one of the worst experiences in relation to so-called “Orthodox Believers” I have encountered to date. After spending a few minutes inside the church I was on my way out and the woman still was on her cell phone. I asked her the name of the priest of the church, so I could make a complaint about her attitude and rudeness. Mocking me, she said, “Yea, go ahead, now YOUR complaint will definitely get me fired”. What a shame that this ungodly creature is allowed to represent Orthodox Faith and this church.

This Orthodox Church is very interesting and well worth the visit. For me, the interior is the most fascinating part of it. However, orthodox churches in Baltics including Vilnius are widespread & not that unique, it`s still recommended to discover as each has got an interesting story connected to it. The Russian influence in the area always been big and this is reflected in this church as well. Give a try, especcially if you`re not familiar with this religion.

Small orthodox church in a busy part of the old town. Weddings taking place here in the summer on Saturdays for example.

Saint Paraskeva is one of Lithuania's most historic churches first built in 1346. Liturgies are in Lithuanian and used to be sometimes in English. Music was outstanding but with the new regime is substandard . This is a must-visit for locals and visitors. But beware, church politics have compromised this former jewel of a church

Being the first ortodox church built in the honour of Saint Parascheva from Iași, România, it's an old, historical place, where you can have peaceful moments for your soul.
