The Summit is a Bar/Restaurant/Day Room that serves the community of Masthope Mountain in Lackawaxen and Ski Big Bear ski resort. It is on top of the 'mountain' right near the lifts. The bar has TVs with usually sports. The ski area closed March 31st. The restaurant has great food though it is not inexpensive. The service is good and the people are very friendly. There is a large community of mostly 'second homes', vacation homes, surrounding the mountain. There is a lake within the community and the Delaware River passes within a quarter mile of this community's boundaries. There is good fishing all around the area and numerous summer activities. The Summit is behind but part of the 'Lodge's' day room which is large with high ceilings and has bingo on Saturday nights at 7:00 pm.

They have a captive audience which chooses not to drive to another restaurant but go up there. So they don't care and they try to be something they are not. I would like the scallops they have but they add bacon jam and roe. Why go overboard? Keep it a little simple. The whole menu is like that. Cheesesteak with bourbon cheese. Leave it alone. I like the chicken ceasar salad but they don't try. It's prepackaged already cooked chicken. How much effort do you much to cook a real chicken breast. But like I said they have a captive audience.

Food was undercooked, we had to send back the chicken wings because they were rare. We ordered their own pizza with alfredo sauce and it came to the table with tomato sauce. Other than that it was a pleasant experience.

The food here is mediocre. Pretty standard bar/grill food. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger and the duck wings and I had the broccoli cheese soup and the giant pretzel. The cheese sauce with the pretzel was flavorless unfortunately. This place is still good to go after you’ve had a day on the slopes or tubing to have a beer and warm up which is why I gave it four stars. The service was also great.

Had a party of 10. The waiter was good and so was food, until we saw a dead mouse on the floor right next to where we were eating. The owner/manager came over and told us that it's common, that they even drop out of the ceilings!! As if that wasnt bad enough, when we tried to pay, they said they only take 2 cards and not 3 and they did this after they already scanned the cards. So my gf was charged on her card even after I decided to pay cash to meet their ridiculous demand.

I have been skiing at Big Bear for years, and I've never gone to this restaurant. The idea of a really good restaurant at a local ski area never occurred to me. Don't let the dated appearance stop you. This place was GREAT! The portion size was perfect, the food was delicious, and the help was incredible! Will definitely go again.

My first ever 1-star review. Ordered takeout from The Summit. One of us got the $25 Duck Breast which included 4 small pieces of duck. We also were missing part of our order. Poor customer service when we let them know about the missing part of our order. Food was delicious though.

Although we had 9 family members on their way off the slopes the manager refused to give us the larger table at the window that we requested. Claiming they might fill up? All tables sat empty the entire time we were here while we squeezed 9 adults at a table for 6. Next, my adult children all ordered a beer, but one was asked for an id for the identical twin of the son she just served? To rent equipment you leave your id at the ski shop, to get it back you have to turn in your equipment. we weren’t finished skiing for the day! The logic and so called control of people did not make sense and was quite rude, especially with the amount of business we have done as quests in the community. Most of the food was good, don’t order the chicken fingers and the chili is really spicy. Our waiter the other day, Ross, was delightful. Can’t say we enjoyed this experience today.
