According to a well-known legend, Emperor Napoleon, after seeing the church during the Franco-Russian War in 1812, expressed a wish to carry the church home with him to Paris 'in the palm of his hand' you can understand why this was said about this church. The church has detailed sculpting and made with red brick it’s quite remarkable. Inside the church as well maintained and they haven’t tried to do many renovations so the original paintings seems to be in view and has a very gothic architecture to it. It also has a large pipe organ as well. A church not to be missed if you are in Vilnius. Highly recommend

This was far & away the most beautiful landmark I came across during my time in Vilnius. Even after seeing about a bazillion European cathedrals/ churches/ chapels, etc…this one stands out. They apparently used 33 different varieties of bricks (colors, textures, shapes & sizes) to create a sort of “flaming” facade. Come near sunset on a clear day, & be rewarded with a true sight to behold.

The church remains a prime example of Gothic architecture. Dramatic archways, symmetrical facade, and ornate pillars.

Stunning red brick structure nestled in the middle of Vilnius's white snow-covered streets, right next to the Bernadine Garden. You can take a peek inside for free. Don't forget to read up on the what the building has been used for in the past centuries on a plaque inside!

This is a beautiful church with great architecture. If you come at right time, you can get great shots. Either early morning or evening. If you come around 9, the sun would be against you for good picture

It would probably be better to combine a review of St. Anne's church with that of St. Francis' church and St. Bernard's convent, so interconnected are their architectural structures and their history. St. Anne's, in particular, is a delightful example of Gothic in Lithuania.

The church is 22 meters high and 10 meters wide, all of which are made of red bricks. The external walls of the church are made of 33 different shapes of bricks. The statue next to the monastery has nothing to do with it. It's Frank Zappa, a rock musician. It is said that Napoleon wanted to dismantle it and transport it back to Paris.

(Translated by Google) Small but very neat and cozy church. The historical component is already described in many places, so I will not repeat myself. And, yes, the church is not part of the Bernardine Church, as many see it.

A beautiful large church with several altars. The beautiful brick facade is visible from a great distance and attracts the attention of passers-by. It is within walking distance of the main sights of Vilnius. Entry is free.

We had the chance to visit this place when we did a walking tour of Lithuania downtown centre. I’ve learned from our Tour guide that St. Anne's Church in Vilnius, Lithuania is a stunning Gothic masterpiece known for its intricate brickwork and elegant architecture. Built in the 15th century, it is a symbol of the city's rich history and a must-visit attraction for its beauty and cultural significance.

One of the most beautiful church in Vilnius for me) This church is one of the most pre-eminent examples, and probably the most unified example, of the Gothic in Vilnius. On the other hand, its architectural style combines elements of Baroque inside and Neo-Gothic (a bell tower). This mix of styles makes the building magnificent inside and out. The church is absolutely fantastic! Moreover, St.Anne's Church is taken in the UNESCO heritage list. My recommendation!

Beautiful, gothic style church. Built in/around the 1500’s, this church is both impressive and one of a kind. If you visit, be sure to really admire both the inside and outside as it’s all really impressive and deserves the attention.

A 520-year-old Gothic church, built of red bricks. Outside there is a small tipi tent with wooden beams that warm the tent and the atmosphere. The church is functional and has a partner activity, in addition you can enter and be impressed by it. Highly recommended

(Translated by Google) The Saint Anne Church from the year 1500 (Šv. Onos Baznycia) is a Roman Catholic church with a beautiful architecture and state of repair. In a very special way, this church was bricked with a gossamer trowel, I would almost say! It appears that as many as 33 types of brick have been used to create this image. Transparent, light and intimate - a feast of details! It is cited as an important example of the Flamboyant Gothic and Brick Gothic, and to me it is the most beautiful building in the city. Together with the inner city of Vilnius, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. You should definitely go there, because the church is completely different from all other churches in the city. Tradition has it that Napoleon, on seeing the church during his campaign in 1812, expressed the wish to take the church to Paris in the palm of his hand. But whether this is relevant… .. That same dictator, who lost hundreds of thousands of people in that war, was also responsible for the looting of this church (and many other churches in Europe, which were often used as horse stables). Inside, that exuberance is a bit more modest , but the church is intimate. The church is narrow, and the walls support the roof with Gothic arches. I have heard this construction called 'Wall pillar construction'. The arches themselves are, like the entire exterior, gossamer brickwork, and show a beautiful pattern in both the nave and the choir area. Within the Gothic style of the building, the interior of the church is completely decorated in Baroque style. The church is a living community, you can see and feel that. People come to pray, sing, cross, often around the statue of the Virgin Mary. The stained glass windows give atmosphere and color to the interior. The church has a free-standing 19th century (neo-Gothic) bell tower, and a chapel from the 17th century.

It’s certainly an imposing building, especially from the front and the brickwork makes for some slightly more unique architecture in the city centre. During sunset the front of the building catches the sun beautifully making it stand out even more. The gothic design is certainly impressive and it’s worth a little detour to admire, plus there’s the benefit of a nice park at the rear.
