One of my favorite and most beautiful places in all of Lithuania. In the heart of the old town of Vilnius is the cathedral square. Many of the most famous attractions within 30 seconds to 5 minute walk from here. Plenty of great places for dinner, lunch or even a coffee break around as well. Itā€™s beautiful at sunset and serves as a active location for many events.

Vilnius Cathedral and its neighboring Bell Tower and Square are symbolic of Vilnius. Located near Gediminasā€™ Castle and the Hill of Three Crosses, Vilnius Cathedral is worth a visit to see the beautiful architecture and interior decor of the Church. It is by far the most famous church in Vilnius and often acts as a symbol of the city. It was was built from the 13th century through to the 15th century, but has been reconstructed several times due to flooding from the Neris River. Both the Vilnius Cathedral and its underground crypts are well worth a visit.

One of the main squares and attractions of the city and the historical center. It includes the Cathedral of St. Stanislaus and the bell tower. It is one of the busiest with public events and celebrations.

This appears to be the main square in the city. Lots of things to do around it, like walk up to the castle or go to the museum. There are all the usual tourist gift shops and restaurants. The clock tower really stands out on the edge of the square and the cathederal is really beautiful. Definitely worth a visit

Vilnius Cathedral, situated in the capital city of Lithuania, is a historical and cultural treasure. Its construction dates back to the 14th century, with a mix of Gothic and Baroque architectural styles. The cathedral has witnessed numerous coronations, funerals, and religious ceremonies throughout Lithuania's history. Adorned with iconic statues of saints and steeped in tradition, it remains a symbol of national pride and a significant religious landmark in Vilnius. The Monument of Grand Duke Gediminas stands beside Vilnius Cathedral to honor and commemorate Gediminas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania and the founder of Vilnius. Gediminas played a crucial role in the establishment and expansion of the city in the 14th century. The monument, unveiled in 1996, serves as a symbol of Lithuania's medieval past and its cultural heritage. It also pays tribute to the Grand Duke's contributions to the country and his lasting impact on the capital city. The location of the monument near Vilnius Cathedral further emphasizes its significance in the city's historical and cultural narrative. Hail, wanderers, to this sacred space, Where Lithuania's history we embrace, I am Gediminas, here to share, The tales of lands beyond compare. Through Vilnius Cathedral's ancient walls, Discover past and present calls, In every stone, a story's told, Of valor, pride, and legends bold. Learn of our land, its rich embrace, In every nook, find Lithuania's grace, Let this place be your guide, To know our heart, our land, with pride.

The Christmas šŸŽ„market here in Vilnius is very small, no food just drinks and deserts. Not many stalls, but there is some stalls with candy and crafts. However beautiful tree and what a pretty city. ā€” in Vilnius.

I came to show my father around as heā€™s in his 80s and wanted to explore.. heā€™s never been to Europe this century lol.. so Iā€™ve been showing him around. The cathedral square is great, the bell tower is amazing too, pay a small fee and go up onto the bell ringing platform. The cathedral allows no phones or cameras so couldnā€™t record the inside but take it from me, itā€™s amazing!

A beautiful place in Vilnius Old Town. Very spacious, there are plenty of options to sit on a bench and admire the view. Well lit at night, beautiful any time of the day. Might be busy on some celebrations, because the space is used to build market tents and stages for some events. Besides, that's the place where Vilnius Christmas tree usually is being put.

Most popular tourist attraction in Vilnius. Big square. Lovely atmosphere. The castle hill is by the side. There is park and other museum as well. You can enjoy relaxing sunset time there. The river bank is 5-10 mins walking distance. This is also a good location for flying drones. It's a bit restricted area but not a problem if you are experienced and have license.
