Really
beautiful
&
scenic
castle
on
the
lake,
about
a
30
min
each
way
bus
trip
from
Vilnius
(~5€
round
trip).
The
setting
is
gorgeous,
especially
if
you
go
on
a
nice
sunny
day
(I’m
sure
it’s
nice
in
winter
weather
also,
but
with
little
shelter
to
be
had,
I’d
not
personally
wanna
be
stuck
out
there
in
the
cold).
I
opted
not
to
go
inside
the
museum
itself,
as
it’s
prohibitively
expensive,
especially
for
Lithuania
(~13€
for
1
adult
ticket).
I
also
hate
to
be
a
buzzkill,
but
the
castle
itself
is
a
reconstruction
from
the
early
1960’s,
so
it’s
scenic
&
great
for
photos,
but
it’s
not
exactly
what
I’d
call
authentic.
Worth
the
trip,
I
think,
but
again,
more
for
the
setting
&
scenery
&
the
area’s
historical
significance
(as
a
former
capital
&
royal
residence
of
Lithuania).
