Super nice, interactive, interesting museum. Hours flew and I wanted to stay and get more inspired. LOVED the atmosphere, the new attitude, many activities and the garden... I'll most certainly visit it in May when all will be blooming :). I LOVED every exhibition for any group of people, creativity, colors, educational cartoons and videos (great animation), structure of museum, easy and playful atmosphere. It was an amazing experience for a small museum and SUPER INSPIRATION that I was looking for. I'd call it "Museum with a big heart". Thanks for amazing time! :) Btw, spoiler allert: big, new exhibition is coming up on May 28th.

(Translated by Google) The Maironis Museum is famous for being the home of priest Maironis. His work is a favorite, some of his poems have become songs. Various exhibitions and concerts take place. After the repair, all rooms can be bypassed. All the furniture is authentic and one can imagine the poet, priest Maironis, living at that time. Springtime was a museum night and I met my studio classmate at Maironis Museum unexpectedly many years later. 😄

(Translated by Google) Maironis Lithuanian Literature Museum (MLLM) was founded in 1936 in the home of a poet, priest Jonas Mačiulis-Maironis (1862–1932), which he bought in 1909. The poet lived in eight rooms on the second floor of this house.Maironis' apartment was decorated by artist Tadas Daugirdas. Four years after the death of the poet, three memorial rooms were installed and opened in Maironis apartment. In 1940-1944, the poet Bernard Brazdžionis worked as the head of the museum. At his initiative, the archival material of other writers was also collected. In the long run, the museum became the Republican Literary Museum. March 1 the old name of the museum was changed and recovered: from the LSSR Literature Museum renamed the Maironis Lithuanian Literature Museum in 1992. The entire apartment of the poet was restored. (Translated by Google) Syruci Palace. Unfortunately, the total lack of information about the real history of this place, about the execution of January insurgents, the lack of information in Polish (notorious in Lithuania), which is particularly worrying in the city where there were 80% of the inhabitants of Polish nationality. More historical information on our website.

(Translated by Google) I will admit that I did not think it would be so interesting. :) Everywhere the authenticity, the staff are very kind, tells everything. You can find QR codes at the furniture and listen to the records of various maironian furniture, paintings, etc. Really liked it :) (Original) Pripažinsiu, kad nemaniau jog bus taip įdomu. :) visur autentika, darbuotojos labai malonios, viską papasakoja. Labai patiko :)

(Translated by Google) This is an amazing museum. It is good to walk around the basements of the building, Maironis apartment. The day of the museum's founding and Maironis' death is very much commemorated. It is a pity that the abandoned house where the "father of the litas" J. Jurgutis lived next door. Only after passing the monument to Maironis, the foundation of the memorial plaque marks that V. Starevičius, who created the first masterpieces of puppet animation, lived here. The board is decorated with a grasshopper and an ant. How lovely to see such beauties. (Original) Tai nuostabus muziejus. Gera pavaiksčioti po pastato rūsius, Maironio butą. Labai gražiai minimas muziejaus įkūrimo ir Maironio mirties diena. Gaila, kad greta stovi apleistas namas kuriame gyveno "lito tėvas" J. Jurgutis. Tik praėjus paminklą Maironiui pamatai atminimo lentą pažyminčia kad čia gyveno V. Starevičius sukūręs pirmuosius lėlinės animacijos šedevrus. Lentą puošia žiogas ir skruzdėlė. Kaip miela matyti tokias grožybes.
