Interesting place to explore Lithuanian aviation history, have a glimpse how airplaines working. You can find real size replica of Famous Lituanica plane. Museum grounds needs renovation.

Almost every plane here has its own unique story. Sadly indoor exhibition was closed, but I liked what I saw very much anyway.

If you like planes, this is very interesting place to spend time. There are multiple real planes, jet engines to touch, inspect and learn about their history. I really recommend it, just avoid plane simulation, the simulation part is OK, but the person who is responsable for that is very rude, that basically ruined half of the experience.

Very beautiful and peaceful place. The building is under construction at present and entry is not allowed in the museum but the open garden where the planes are kept is accessible.

(Translated by Google) I liked the museum. Great and staff, interesting story of aviation. The place itself is the historical-legendary Kaunas Airport, where pilots Darius and Girėnas were welcomed. There are a number of interesting exhibits of historical value. For those interested in aviation, this place is definitely worth a visit. The museum can be visited free of charge on the last Sunday of the month. (Original) Patiko muziejus.

Entry fee for students is 1€. You can buy the tickets and also some souvenirs in the ticket booth in the entrance to the museum. After you buy the ticket you will hear and learn interesting history about the museum and Lithuanian aviation. Near the museum there is a bus stop so you can get here by bus from the city centre of Kaunas easily.

(Translated by Google) An interesting place worth visiting not only for fans of aviation or technology. In the museum you can see and get acquainted with various aircraft flying in the sky, gliders, helicopters, various types of airplanes, their engines, pilots' clothes and so on. The exposition also includes a lot of information for those who want to get acquainted with Lithuanian aviation, Lithuanian works and history, as well as a copy of “Lituanica”. The children also liked the museum, and the time did not last for them, because the museum has a lot of exhibits, there are spacious exhibits of outdoor, avia models, friendly museum staff can ask children to find the smallest flying machine, etc., and there are surprises.

The Lithuanian Aviation Museum is located in Kaunas, Lithuania. The museum was officially opened in 1983. The permanent collection of the museum contains more than 18 000 displays of different fields of technology. The major part of the collection is dedicated to the history of aviation in Lithuania. It includes about 40 flying machines, models of airplanes, flyers, gliders and helicopters of various times, and designed during the Interwar period of Lithuania first combat aircraft the ANBO I by General Antanas Gustaitis. The museum is located at the airfield where the aviators Darius and Girėnas were expected to land following their trans-atlantic flight. However, the remains of their plane are on display in the Vytautas the Great War Museum, rather than at the aviation museum. The museum organizes exhibitions, exchanges publications with aviation museums, historians in different countries of the world.

(Translated by Google) Because there were not many people in quarantine. The planes looked quite interesting. When you go outside, there is a runway nearby and sometimes some plane lands. There is also a flight simulator but it looks like it was made in 2004 (Original) Kadangi karantinas žmonių daug nebuvo. Lėktuvai atrodė visai įdomiai. (Translated by Google) The morally outdated museum, especially disliked the first hall with avia models and badges, poor presentation, especially poor lighting. There is almost no active education for children, completely non-interactive, the presentation is old-fashioned. The outdoor exposition is quite interesting, but abandoned. Inside, the large exhibits are really good and impressive, there are really interesting and important exhibits for the history of Lithuania. There is enough interesting information about the history of Lithuanian aviation, but it is more adapted to those who are already more interested in it, the information is not very attention-grabbing and interesting for children.

The museum itself is nothing but the most interesting during the festivities organized at the aerodrome. (Original) Atėjus kasoje nieko nebuvo, šiek tiek palaukėme, bet nesulaukus ėjome pasižvalgyti.
