The
best
gallery
in
Vilnius
for
me)
Monumental
building
of
the
National
Gallery
of
Art
is
striking
with
its
power
and
design.
It
is
easy
to
find
in
the
central
part
of
the
capital
city,
close
to
the
Sakura
park.
It
takes
a
15-minutes
walk
to
Vilnius
Old
Town
from
there.
The
National
Gallery
of
Art
consists
of
twelve
halls,
Information
centre,
the
Gallery
restaurant,
the
Auditorium
and
Educational
centre.
That's
why
a
lot
of
events
are
held
at
the
gallery.
You
need
two
hours
and
more
to
explore
the
exhibitions
because
there
are
many
interesting
installations
and
paintings.
Performances
and
exhibitions
are
best
suited
for
adults.
The
permanent
exhibition
at
the
National
Gallery
of
Art
presents
Lithuanian
paintings,
sculpture,
graphic
art,
photography
and
contemporary
art
from
the
beginning
of
the
20th
century
to
the
present
day.
The
exhibition
is
set
up
across
eleven
halls,
on
the
second
and
third
floors.
You
can
reach
the
main
staircase
or
by
the
elevator.
I
was
impressed
with
the
halls
devoted
to
the
World
War
II
and
the
late
Soviet
period.
Video
works
perfectly
complement
exhibitions
creating
the
spirit
of
the
age
and
making
the
unique
vibe.
Temporary
exhibitions
of
20th-21st
century
Lithuanian
and
international
art
are
displayed
in
Hall
5
and
Hall
12,
and
in
the
gallery's
lobbies.
The
Auditorium
us
used
for
conferences,
lectures,
workshops,
cultural
events
and
screenings
of
film
amd
video
works.
I
was
lucky
enough
to
enjoy
great
contemporary
installations
and
performances.
Well,
I
definitely
recommend
the
National
Gallery
of
Art
because
it
perfectly
combines
history
and
modernity,
art
and
new
technologies.
It
is
worth
visiting)
