The best gallery in Vilnius for me) Monumental building of the National Gallery of Art is striking with its power and design. It is easy to find in the central part of the capital city, close to the Sakura park. It takes a 15-minutes walk to Vilnius Old Town from there. The National Gallery of Art consists of twelve halls, Information centre, the Gallery restaurant, the Auditorium and Educational centre. That's why a lot of events are held at the gallery. You need two hours and more to explore the exhibitions because there are many interesting installations and paintings. Performances and exhibitions are best suited for adults. The permanent exhibition at the National Gallery of Art presents Lithuanian paintings, sculpture, graphic art, photography and contemporary art from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. The exhibition is set up across eleven halls, on the second and third floors. You can reach the main staircase or by the elevator. I was impressed with the halls devoted to the World War II and the late Soviet period. Video works perfectly complement exhibitions creating the spirit of the age and making the unique vibe. Temporary exhibitions of 20th-21st century Lithuanian and international art are displayed in Hall 5 and Hall 12, and in the gallery's lobbies. The Auditorium us used for conferences, lectures, workshops, cultural events and screenings of film amd video works. I was lucky enough to enjoy great contemporary installations and performances. Well, I definitely recommend the National Gallery of Art because it perfectly combines history and modernity, art and new technologies. It is worth visiting)

Ganz nice Architektur.

Nice architecture and even better art inside. The art is all focusing on Lithuanian artists with a focus on the 20th century. The offer an audio guide and free app. It's one of the cheapest art galleries that I have been in the world at only €1.80 or €0.90 for students for this price it's cant be missed. Make sure to go in the morning to miss the crowds. It opens at 11am

Paid 6€ for an adult ticket. There are 12 sections to view art at. The whole place feels so lonely, there are almost no other people here.. The art itself was kind of underwhelming, so I rushed through the exhibition.. But the WiFi was good at least. Also clean toilets. All together it felt like a waste of money for me.

Beautiful space, very comfortable and inclusive. Interesting to see the evolution of Lituanian art trough the XX century. There are many remarkable artworks whom artists are mostly unknown from the big audience

Impression after the first visit is really bad. First thing - horrible smell right after the entrance - no idea what it was but it was very disgusting and difficult to breath easily without noticing it. Second - and I think the worst because the museum is quite far from the center - wrong and not updated information about the opening hours. We arrived at 5:30 pm because information everywhere was that it’s open until 7 pm so we could visit easily one permanent exhibition. But suddenly when we arrived, the lady at info deck refused to sell us tickets as they are closing at already in half hour, so we will not visit anything. So we wanted only to take a look at other exhibitions. But in general everyone who was working there wanted to kick us out - really uncomfortable condition to experience art - even though the architecture is impressive, and they are showing good art. Also there was lack of some information in English about the shows - it was very unclear what is translated and what is not. As it was 30 minutes before closing (which we didn’t know obviously) many video pieces were already turned off. :(

The musuem hosts Lithuanian Art from the XX and XXI century, I really liked the pieces after Soviet occupation and also post-soviet art. It has 12 rooms and could be visited in 2/3 hours. It helps understanding how Lithuanian artists expressed the trauma of the opression and how it was critizised. The building has plenty of natural light, there is no café or shop but it has a food court nearby and a nice park with Cherry trees with places to seat and relax. Happy I was there.

National gallery. Decent contemporary spaces. Check website for current exhibitions. If you like art could take 1-3 hours to experience all.

Stark, industrial style dark building with a mix of older and new art Explanations of art in English are long and hard to absorb sometimes though well intentioned Some wonderful older paintings mixed with new and weird installations Provides an overview of the development of art here though be prepared for an off putting encounter

Not kids friendly staff, had a very disappointing experience, which left me and my kids insulted. Though the exhibition was fantastic.
