Great place for education. Beautiful art. One of the greatest Lithuanian artists ever. Beautiful music and paintings. Educated, well prepared, helpful and friendly staff. There is a place for children to play and educate themselves. Not only toys but lithuanian educational toys as well. Clean, looked after environment. A lot of signs to know where You are ant where to go next. VR 'Path of Angels' is an amazing experience. Happy to see art from the past to combine with technologies from today and create unique art experience. I personally recomend to experience 'Path of Angels' firs before continuing to paintings and music. Then You can discover visuals from VR in real paintings. Overall amazing experience. Everyone should visit this museum at least once in a lifetime, but I recomend more often.

The exhibition and the building are beautiful and worth a visit. Material on all exhibition is translated to English so you can easily understand what is going on. The extensive exhibition of Ciurlionis works is fascinating, especially if you spend some time to listen to his music.

Really great place. All the art work is amazing. I love how it has he original paintings and not just fake copies if it. The way the guides explain the story behind the art is really really good and detailed. This place a really good place to spend time. It takes around 60-90 minutes to fully enjoy yourself there.

Liked this galley. Some of Lithuanias main painters from 1900 to 1930s. Separate exhibition space for leading painter and composer Ciurlionis with a music room to listen to his symphony. I listened to a piece The Forest and the Sea: wonderful. You are only allowed to a few photos here. Cafe on ground floor. Helpful staff.

(Translated by Google) Everything seems to be fine, but it is a pity that in this museum only paintings. I would like more details that would help to get to know Čiurlionis' personality: photos, manuscripts, diaries, letter clippings ...

This is one of the most interesting art museums I was in. I'm not a big fan of art and museums, but this was actually a nice museum. There mostly was art paintings, but there was other things, like a café, music chamber, and etc.

    M. K. Čiurlionis is a great artist of Lithuania. The same like Vincent in Netherlands. But the museum lives in soviet time, i am sorry. Information? We come into museum and i had to ask where is Čiurlionis? Website tragical. I was with foreigners. Infront of the picture they asked me: what is the name of this artist?… Yes… I come to the entrance again and found only signature of Čiurlionis. Frames! Did you remove those frames from the soviet paintings? William Ketridge - absolutely bad instalation! I know this artist many years, he did wonderful exhibition in Louisiana, but here very bad.

I'm giving this only 4 stars because modern art isn't to everyone taste. The museum itself is very good, well laid out, and has friendly staff. It is also well located and we were able to park on the street for amodest amount and still had time to explore around several other sites

Very Interesting building and museum in Kaunas. It cost me 10euro on entry and the lockers and coat storage is free which is brilliant. The museum shop is nice and reasonable prices. Not much to offer in the cafe from what I could see. The museum is very clean and well taken care of. The artwork was not much to my personal taste but there were some interesting pieces which caught my eye! The museum is close to the center of Kaunas. The museum is closed on Mondays!

The building itself is a sample of pure art-modern in Kaunas before WW2. Very autenthic restoration. Exposition of greatest Lithuanian symbolism painter and music composer M.K. Ciurlionis brings you to the feeling of unreal, fantastic wold of art of the edge between XIX and XX c. New exposition of Lithuanian art is opened

I found this museum very cool. I didn't know much about Ciurlionis. However, after watching his paintings go and see usual paintings (they are presented in second floor) is really difficult. His style is fully dive to topic, find association about it and create satisfactory painting without any redundant detail. Even names of his work talks a lot of. Just consider: Eternity, Friendship, Truth, Thoughts, Night... . Must visit place if you want see pure art.

We had a very unpleasant encounter with one of the younger volunteers in the museum. The lady shouted at us for being 'too close' to the artworks when we were at a usual range for any museum. Instead of asking us to maybe step back a little (which is odd since the artworks are clearly behind glass and there is no rope/small fence blocking the artworks) we got an earful. She then proceeded to closely follow us around the whole exhibition which was very very uncomfortable. The older volunteers however were very experienced and gave us some great extra information/explanations. The VR experience was cool, but the price seems a bit steep, especially since my VR headset broke halfway through. The exhibition was nice but small.

Went to see exposition but mainly for virtual reality movie “Angelų Takais” which requires to buy tickets online and better register for specific time online. Then came in a little before to see and read about Čiurlionis, watched the movie and finished looking the exposition. Would highly recommend. World level art!

This place should have a sign “children under certain age are not welcome”. We came with our three year old who was walking around and looking at the paintings. As soon as we walked into Ciurlionio exhibit, immediately I felt like someone was following me very closely. After taking a few turns, I knew I was followed by a person who works there. She got so close that I could feel her breathing down my neck. I turned around and asked “are you going to follow me around for the rest of the exhibit?” She said “yes”. She didn’t explain whether my son was talking too loud, walking too fast. She just stood there not knowing what to say. I was appalled and pretty disgusted. When she said “yes”, I answered that she doesn’t have to worry about it, because we are leaving. If children are not allowed and your staff will harass the guests, please be upfront about it, so I won’t waste my time and money for nothing.

The museum was better than expected. But, the reason I went was for the VR movie, and after paying €10 to get into the museum and going to the VR room, I found out that it was going to be an addition €18 to see the film. I wish I had known that before I paid €10 to get in as I would have chosen a different museum. In the end, I did not spend that extra €18 on the movie because €28 is a lot of money. So, I spent more time than anticipated in the actual museum and was very impressed with the works and the amount of art inside!

Disappointment. Lack of information of Ciurlionis life and journey of his work in general. Other parts of exhibitions are shallow & poor. Some exhibition decisions are questionable, like adding an explanation text on glass and illuminating it result - impossible to read the text. The price tage is too expensive for such a venue.

One of the most interesting museums in Lithuania) You must visit it when you're in Kaunas. It is a good example of an art gallery where you enjoy Lithuanian art from the Middle Ages till the 21st century. The main exhibition is connected with the life and creativity of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. It looks absolutely great - wonderful and a bit mysterious paintings, contemporary installations, and a music hall where you can listen to Čiurlionis' musical composition. I highly recommend exploring an exhibition devoted to the history of money in the interwar Lithuanian Republic (1918-1940). These banknotes are more like a piece of art! The national museum boasts some original fabulous art deco masterpieces. There is an exhibition hall of Lithuanian traditional applied and decorative art. You can see not only some folk costumes and handicrafts but also it is possible to watch documentaries from ethnographic expeditions and listen to folk music (audio recordings from different parts of Lithuania) and video guides on wearing traditional headdresses and accessories. The museum is worth visiting 💯

It was not actually my favourite place. I was expecting more, but i've found some nice art pieces and the place was friendly. Also, they have a problem with the illumination system. In the first room i's hard to see the painting and it other rooms the there are some mistakes like: an oil portait is too high on a wall and the light reflection makes it impossible to understand the painting.

(Translated by Google) Very great museum. The staff is nice and professional. Unfortunately, one "crystal" evokes unpleasant feelings: Today, 2020. August 14, at about 11 p.m. when I came to the museum, I wanted to buy a ticket (I collect tickets for various museums). A museum employee excused her for not being able to give a ticket for some reason, and offered to leave 5 euros (such a ticket price for an adult), inspect the exhibition, and pick up the ticket on departure. I was surprised that I am not the first visitor that day, the employee said with a smile that it was definitely not the first. So it is suspected that other visitors did not receive tickets either. Unfortunately, when I left the ticket office, there was another museum employee - a man - and I hardly would have proved to him that I had paid for the visit. I wish the museum staff all the best, but we should also wish honesty and responsibility. (Original) Labai puikus muziejus.

Very beautiful, mystical paintings by Lithuanias most famous artist. Deeply symbolic and moving, they are deceptively simple and have a profound effect on your psyche that has to be experienced to be believed. You must visit, you will take away an experience that will stay with you forever. His paintings speak of the essential Lithuanian soul, essentially pagan and spiritual at the same time.

The works of Čiurlionis, known for his ambiguous symbolist paintings, are on display in abundance. If you want to study each work in a little more detail, which is quite recommended, you should take a lot of time to visit. The museum building itself represents Lithuanian modernism. The Vytautas the Great War Museum is also located in the same building. The annexe, which features Čiurlionis' works, is also beautiful. Monitulkintaisista symbolistisista maalauksistaan tunnetun Čiurlionis’n teoksia on esillä runsaasti. Jos jokaista teosta tekee mieli tutkia vähän yksitiskohtaisemmin, mikä on ihan suositeltavaa, kannattaa vierailuun varata runsaasti aikaa. Museorakennus itsessään edustaa liettualaista modernismia.
