Ambience was really good. Different kind of sea species, corals, plants, etc. Majority of them were models and not the true ones. There were actual penguin type birds, sea gulls, sea lions, ducks, and many other species of fishes and turtles belonging to the Baltic sea. There was a music concert too in the museum. There's a tunnel to pass through and feel the actual view of aquarium. It's really mesmerising.

Very beautiful place to visit in Lithuania. A well-kept museum where you can see a lot of live fish, sea animals outside and even enjoy a dolphin show! Very nice to visit with kids or with friends to take nice pictures and find out more about the sea creatures. I think every last Sunday of each month you can visit for free, but make sure to check the website because I may be mistaken.

Hard to get to on Curonian spit, the entire area deserves maybe a day there. There is dolphinarium, animal rehabilitation center and museum of the sea with aquarium plus other exhibits. The entry ticket is quite expensive. Very nice aquarium with many fish, info and environmental awareness focus. The fortress part was not as strong.

The Lithuanian sea museum is a great day out. With lots of history and things to see, from historical boats that you’re able to go on to dolphins dunking basketballs. The sea museum/aquarium is well organised and laid out, you’re able to walk in one direction and see everything. Outside you have a fort that has been turned into a museum with each entrance holding a different part of history. Signs have Lithuanian and English which is a massive plus for us. You’ll be able to see penguins, dolphins, seals and many species of fish. I recommend checking feeding times of animals so you’re able to see them in action, I noticed feeding time for the seal pups was at 13:30 and we arrived much later than that missing what could’ve been a really fun time. Plenty of walking to be done here to wear comfortable shoes! And enjoy the wonderful day out.

Not cheap..but is good :) Lot of interesting exposures and also the aquarium is the best :) To get to museum you need to cross the sea strait by passanger ferry, then some 10min walking distance till museum. Also id you want to go by car, you cam use ferry wich who carries also vehicles.

Very interesting combination of aquarium, ocean animal and fish history, and maritime history of Lithuania. The complex is large and has a lot to see. The dolphin show is worth the price one time; the kids enjoyed it.

Place which attracts crowds during summer time even on weekdays. Interactive part of exhibition is especially attractive for children as they adore touching and playing with stuff. It is worth to check when it is working in advance and buy tickets online. By doing this you will benefit from not waiting in a long line to do this. If you are going to museum with the car with tickets to museum you can use priority line for boarding a ferry.

Just amazing place for everyone. Only issue we found was parking when it's busy there is no where to park your car. Other than that. A great day out

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the big aquariums in Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Gatlinburg in the U.S., but I was a little disappointed. The exhibit starts on the second floor, and it's mostly static displays, as you'll see in the photos. Moving to the first floor, there are more tanks of live creatures, more what I was expecting. On the positive side, there's a nice penguin exhibit, where they can be seen inside and out, and the same goes for an exhibit of harbor seals. The basement has a great display and explanation of naval swords. The grounds surrounding the museum were once a fort, but we weren't able to spend a lot of time there. There's a separate seal and dolphin show that would be a hit with kids. Overall, it was an enjoyable time.

Attending the dolphins and sea lions performance was very enjoyable experience. I would definitely reccomend for any tourists. I recommend purchasing tickets online to quick up the entry process. Additionally, there's a convenient on-site café ,there were so many traditional lithuanian tasty dishes, making it easy to grab a bite before or after the show.

Some parts are very boring I would say, using fake fishes. But interactive parts were nice (I believe a very good way for kids to find out about sea life). Second part contains multiple fish tanks with very wide range of fishes. Last part is going under the big tank with many big fish, cool feeling. It’s really great way to see the Baltic Sealife. There are also penguins and seals, you can see them from outside as well as inside through the windows. Beautiful location.

First of all, to get to the island, you need to take a boat which goes on exact hours and returns quarter past of each hour. Dont lose the first ticket because it is both ways. On the island, you can take a minibus, a shuttle(3€ per person) or simply take a 20min walk by the seaside. When you get to the museum, you have 2 options one is the aquarium and the other is dolphin show. We took the first and it was already enough. It is a must, especially if you are going in winter.

Every time we vacation in Neringa, we go to the Dolphinarium and at the same time visit the Maritime Museum. Every time you walk around the Maritime Museum, you always discover something new, and at the same time have a great time. I recommend everyone to visit and admire.

Nice and fresh aquarium, exhibits looks good and clean. The one con for me was that information signs about the fish were only shown on one screen. I wish to see more analog signs about the inhabitants, so it's easier to have an overview. Otherwise a very nice experience!

Interesting and unique place to visit for Baltic states. Adventure starts with getting to museum with ferry. There are to options, if you want to go there with car then you must go to New ferry terminal, it will cost 13euros per car (both ways included) also during the season there will be parking costs at the museum. If you travel with bike or you are walking then I recommend to use Old ferry terminal. Museum it self is interesting, many sea animals, huge aquariums. Also you can go to Delphin show but you have to buy different ticket for that show.

If you are visiting Klaipeda and looking for some museums don't waste your time on this one as I was here several years ago and it is pretty lame considering the ticket price is about 10€

The service selling tickets is very poor. We purchased tickets and provided details that we paid for the pensioner by mistake. Staff at the windows were extra rude saying that it is clearly written on the tickets that there is no refund. The woman ran after to shout if I come from an administration. Poor service, very rude staff that doesn't care about anyone. The second time a foreign friend went in and they said a different story, that I scanned the ticket. Althought I came to them before we scanned it and didn't receive partial refund. The women were rude all together and didn't ask if I already scanned them. In principle, you have a no refund principle which is against the European consumer rights and service that is rude, impolite. Charged a pensioner that you could of refunded, By laws that are not legal in principle. 👎 Also look at your facial expressions and watch your tone.

Great place to visit with the kids. Not too big so doesn't take a full day, but lovely exhibitions and very informative. My kids were running from one expo to the other excitedly. The highlight was the sea lion and dolphin show, which you have to book separately and leave the museum to go to a nearby building to see, but can come back to the museum should you wish to (just have to ask for a stamp upon leaving).

You can't miss this place! You won't forget. And it's nice they don't force the animals to do the show. If they don't want to participate, they don't have to.

A wonderful museum of sealife. On a sunny day it is worth having a walk around the fort. There are very old anchors to be seen, plus a very pleasant panorama of the sea and Klaipeda. As we enter, there are numerous penguins which are totally cute and making very funny sounds. Inside, there is a number of various fish and other creatures living in the sea. The most amazing thing was to see the giant fish swimming just above my head. As we go out, there is a nice souvenir shop with magnets, tshirts etc. Finally, going back on a ferry to the mainland is also kind of attraction, especially on a warm sunny day😊

Renovated aquarium lets you to discover sea life. Fishes, seals, penguins, corals and other. You will spend there around one hour and it cost 10 euros. Also, you can take private boat to get there, instead of ferry. It cost only 2 euros one way and takes you right at the dolphinarium (you do not need to walk 2km from a ferry).

It was an amazing trip. The big Aquarium is something you cannot see everywhere. However, I was a bit concerned about the condition of the penguins

I really love this museum as it has so many different aspects of the sea; it tells about ships, sailing, sea rescue service, pollution and animals. Moreover there are living fish to be seen and enjoyed. Due to its modern concepts it adresses the entire family

A lovely wee place. It wasn't too crowded when we visited luckily. And I quite loved the seals and the penguins, they are so adorable 😊 Kinda was lacking english translations at most places but I still enjoyed the visit.

As far as I heard the museum was renewed. Now it has quote a fun exposition of various shells, animals and coral with a couple of small but beautiful aquariums with jelly fish and coral. After going to the next floor more aquariums will meet you showing some really interesting and beautiful sea life. Even lower you will be under a "pond" and some big fishes will be swimming above your head. Inside (and outside you can see penguins and seals (water doggos) who are very playful and likes to follow your hand. The inside of the museum is really atmospheric and is fun (for kids there are separate windows a bit lower in the exposition and some glass domes to crawl under an aquarium, though that one I tires myself). Outside the museum there're separate exhibitions with little games or interactive exhibits (like a piece of a ship which is rocking). Even the road to the museum is not boring as you can see and go in some old fishing ships or visit traditional household of the fisherman. Also reserve at least a few hours for the museum itself (if you're a curious person) because in about two hours we did not manage to see everything.
