An easily accessible attraction/view point in kodaikanal. * The beautiful green mountain and blue sky view with a moody weather is the main attraction here. The panoramic view from the watch tower is really amazing. * Most of the time it is very foggy here so you should wait for some time to see the view. * There is small park inside but it really needs some maintenance ( when i visited ). * Most of the time it is very busy here so you can't enjoy it alone(keep that in mind).

The views from Moir Point are just stunning. And if there are clouds then it becomes even more beautiful - You will feel like you are among the clouds. You can click some amazing photos here. There is a nominal fee for entering the place though the parking is sufficient and free. There are a few shops where you can have some quick snacks and get bottled drinking water. There are a few walking tracks and benches. And there is a watch tower from which you can get extensive views of the valleys and cliffs below.

It is located on the way to Berijam Lake. This point got is name after Sir Thomas Moir. It is said that it is point where Sir Thomas Moir who was an engineer, had laid out foundation to build a road which is known as Goschen road/ Forty Mile Road in the year of 1929. When at Moir Point, you can see a pillar here. Situated at the entrance of the forest which leads up all the way to the exquisite Berijam Lake, Moir Point is one of the most significant viewpoints present in Kodaikanal. The place is named after Sir Thomas Moir who started constructing the Goschen Road in 1929 CE. There is a monument which mentions this and stands on the road joining the Kodaikanal-Berijam Lake. Since this place offers amazing views of the valleys, it remains one of the most crowded places in Kodaikanal. Offering a spectacular view of the valley, Moir Point has always stayed as a hotspot for all the tourists out there. The Moir Point is situated at the place where the first grass was cut by Sir Thomas Moir to build the Goschen Road. Until 1929, the Moir Point was known as Fore Mile Road. The importance of the place lies in the long history that is associated with it wherein the entry of unauthorised people is barred. One gets a refreshing bird's viewpoint of the hills along with the villages which surround the region. Being a calm and serene place, tourists get to experience an ideal ambience where they can rejuvenate and unwind at the Moir Point.

This is the first point to start with to go around the places in sequential order. Excellent place to visit and view. Start early in the morning at 9 am to cover all the places. We went in December month before Christmas. So the crowd was bit less and Kodaikanal it can rain at any point of time. During the rainy day, it will be very slippery. So mind your steps. Entry fee for tempo van is 50 rupees and for other vehicles it will vary.

The spot with breathtaking view. Visited during long weekend and was bit crowded. If you are visiting during weekend then try to visit early morning as there will be less crowds and get parking easily. This place is surrounded by local eateries with good taste. You will get maggi and sweetcorn and other fast foods. And have some local craft shops. It has an entry fee about Rs.10 for adults and Rs.5 for children. Moir Point in Kodaikanal offers a picturesque escape into nature, albeit with a few considerations to keep in mind. With an entry ticket priced reasonably at 10 rupees per head, this destination promises a serene experience amidst lush greenery and stunning landscapes. One notable aspect is the additional charge of 350 rupees for cameras, which might deter some visitors. However, the maintenance of cleanliness despite the crowds is commendable, ensuring a pleasant environment for all. The area does tend to get a bit crowded, especially during peak seasons, which can slightly diminish the tranquility of the place. Nevertheless, Moir Point compensates for this with its scenic beauty and the presence of numerous shops outside the area, providing a variety of dining options for visitors. These eateries offer a chance to refuel and relax, enhancing the overall experience as a chill hangout spot. One consideration to keep in mind is the additional expenses incurred for vehicles, as charges vary based on the type of vehicle. This could potentially add to the overall cost of the visit and needs to be factored into the budget for a seamless outing. Despite the minor inconveniences related to crowd and additional charges, Moir Point remains a great spot for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a scenic retreat. The surrounding beauty and the opportunity to unwind amidst nature's splendor make it a worthwhile visit, especially for those willing to overlook the slight drawbacks. In conclusion, Moir Point offers a mixed experience: a touch of serenity amidst a crowd, cleanliness amidst nature's charm, and a range of dining options to explore. If you're willing to navigate through the crowd and manage additional expenses, this destination provides a great opportunity to soak in Kodaikanal's natural beauty.

Really a wonderful experience in visiting this place. If you are lucky you can enjoy mist. The foggy wind and greenish nature will help you to refresh your mind and body. Parking is little difficult. This place is surrounded by many local shops where you can buy local foods, spices and handcrafted materials. The sweet cone avaliable around is too tasty and a must try item.

One of beauty viewpoint of Kodaikanal. Place is on the way of all view spots of Kodai. You will get surrounding view of all hills and clouds moving around. It was like whole cloud mountains no trees no rocks…only clouds clouds clouds… it was great view.. You have got Guar statue and a tower to enjoy the view point. Entry fee is 20 INR, no parking fees but you have to pay forest entry fee of 50 INR while entering forest. Place is for all age persons as there is no walking or hiking… No washroom or drinking water facilities available here. Better to keep a reusable water bottle filled as you will not get 1 or 2 liters plastic water bottles here as plastic is banned… sorry only PLASTIC BOTTLES of 1 or 2 litres are banned other than this all plastics is allowed..

If you are at Kodaikanal right now, this place is the best place to go. We visited this place in 2019. But you should not go on the morning you have to go like on mid-noon time to see the beautiful view of Tamil Nadu. If you go on the morning it will be covered with fog and you cannot see a thing form there you have to go on 10:30 am or something it will be clear in that time it is Afterall a good experience going there. And don't worry there road leads there is a road like state Highway it is that nice. This place offers spectacular view of the valley beneath. It's a must go while you are in Kodaikanal.

Lot of food shops availability. Bus forest 🌳 ride optional: Rs 200/- per head

Most of the time this viewpoint is covered with Mist. If not covered with mist , the watchtower is the best place to see the beauty of the valley. Lots of eating options are available at this viewpoint. Parking and overcrowding is a nightmare for those who are visiting on holiday and weekends.

It was full of fog when I visited. From moir point you can get bus safari into forest with 200 rupees per person which is worth it. 1 to 1.5 hours drive covering beautiful view points. Be careful with momkeys in this place. They are very aggressive and bitten one of our co passenger.

The valley tour of kodai starts from here. Nice place to experience the mist and see the hills. Parking on weekends would be a big challenge. Entry ticket is around 30rs I believe. Go to the tower to enjoy the view and take a selfie. Eateries are available and you can spend 30mins here. If you find this review helpful then give me a 👍

The place is a tourist attraction!! With a small fee collected for entry!! But the services, cleanliness and parking arrangements is a mess with mud everywhere. Still the views are nice and worth the travel when it’s not that crowded. Apparently it was school holiday and everyone was coming here. We had to wait about an hour to reach the point due to the mess in parking.

Thomas Moir was said to be a britisher , who developed the place and his memorial is located here. One of the spectacular view of the valley especially during when the skies are clear. We ll be able to see and enjoy the fog and mist which moves from the mountain/sky. Entry ticket has to be paid, i think it is 20rs for adult (>5 years) Enjoy the nature and praise the Lord for beautiful creation
