Found this quiet restaurant down a quant residential alley. The service was spectacular and attentive . The food was out of this world good. The seafood is extremely fresh and was able to try 2 types of fish I had never tried nor heard of before. I am picky on ceviche and it was perfectly prepared. I highly recommend giving this place a shot if you are very picky with the quality of seafood and want to have a memorable meal.

One of the best meals you’ll have in Viña and perhaps all of Chile. Bring your appetite and go all in for the tasting. At ~50K CPL (currently) you won’t find a better long lunch including 4 dishes, paired wines and a lovely cocktail. You don’t only get a lovely meal though, Willy takes the time to tell you about each dish/wine, their origins and why they were selected for his menu. We learned more about Chile during lunch than in the museums! The menu was easily tailored for a gluten allergy as well. Overall 10/10 for such a classy lovely lunch. Again just bring you appetite as you tour Chile from your table!

This was our first meal in Chile and it was excellent. I read a travel blog recommending it and we found it tucked away in an alley. Mario was our server and he was so friendly and attentive, he really made it an experience. The machas parmesanas were a delicious appetizer to share and everyone loved their entrees. The pastel de choclo really hits the spot since it was a little chilly outside. We found Willy too! We had a chance to chat with him about the wineries we’d be visiting and hear his recommendations. Overall amazing lunch!

Absolutely fantastic! Willy himself waited on us and was wonderful. We had a surprise opera singer for entertainment too! The food was absolutely perfect in every bite- clams covered in Parmesan to the dessert.

Stumbled upon this gem on our first night in this city, and we were blown away. Mario, the owner, took us in and explained that night was a set menu, and explained all of the dishes and accompanying wine lists meticulously. At first we were expecting like a local diner (because of the peculiar name), but it was like a fine dining restaurant with Michellin style serving. Everything that were served were great, from ceviche to the beef dumpling to the duck (I usually don’t like duck, but this one was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had!). But what set this restaurant apart is the kindness of Mario and the whole staff and explains the great dynamics in the restaurant.

Highly recommended. The staff were friendly, the service was solid, and most importantly, the food was delicious. The salmon was a standout, it absolutely melts in your mouth. Combined with crispy, perfectly salted potato wedges and a beautiful salad, it was a treat. Would definitely go again and would advise anyone looking to try the seafood in Viña del Mar to give it a shot.

During our visit to Chile, we stumbled on this cozy restaurant. We were blown away! The food was outstanding! The service was first class. I experienced a couple culinary firsts. We started with a sample platter (marinero Willy) that had crab dip, abalone, mussels, and cerviche. It was amazing. So fresh! I also tried sea urchin and loved that too! We loved this place so much that when we saw that they were having a wine pairing dinner, we drove an hour and a half to attend. We were not disappointed. Another amazing meal that was enhanced by the wine. I'm not a big wine drinker but the sommelier was excellent and answered all of our questions and was so knowledgeable, not only about the wine that we were drinking, but the vineyards in Chile. Put this on your list of places that you have to try!

Ordered the 5 course meal that Mario suggested with wine pairing, and it was one of the best experience I’ve had in a while, coming from a foodie! Not only the food and wines were beyond amazing, but we spent 3 hours there listening and chatting with Mario, having the best time ever. Highly recommend to go there and definitely order the special course as you won’t be disappointed! Thank you Mario, we’ll remember this day!

Ordered “The Experience” and it was one of the best decisions of our Chilean trip. It was 55.000 Chilean pesos per person and it was a 5 course prix fix with wine pairing. Every course was DELICIOUS! What was almost better, was the beautiful service — English friendly and they made you feel like family and also were informative about explaining the history of the dishes and wines. I recommend heading to Donde Willy ASAP for all Viña Del Mar tourists and tasting some of the best food of your trip.

This was my first time in Chile, so i wanted to make to most of it. I saw the great reviews for this place in Google and TripAdvisor and decided to get "the experience" five-course meal of classic Chilean dishes paired with five Chilean wine. Not cheap, but totally worth it. Also, Mario was off the (first) day I went, but Willy (son of original Willy) was my waiter and, although my Spanish is very limited and his English was weak, he was excellent. It was a great experience, indeed. In fact, I went back the next day for Machas (also great) and Mario waited on me and he is indeed also great. So just great all around. 😃

We decided to try Donde Willy in Viña del Mar after searching through many various restaurants in the area. I initially reached out via chat (provided by Google search) and they were quickly able to answer my questions and set up our reservation for 5 people later that night (Friday). Upon our arrival, we were walking up the alley and a man (Mario) says, "Are you Will?" Probably not something that happens regularly, but it was a very pleasant surprise. I honestly felt like a famous person! He promptly led us to our table and got us situated right away. Both Mario and Denic were exquisite servers. We had many conversations and it may quite possibly have been the best service for a meal we have ever received! We all ordered "The Experience," which was a 5 course meal with wine pairings. Everything came out to perfection and the quality of the pairings were out of this world. They definitely have a top notch crew working in the back of house, in addition to the stellar front of house service. They even made a substitution for my sister who was unsure about one of the courses. Not something they can always do, but they seem to go the extra mile if they can! All in all, if I could rate our meal/experience at Donde Willy a 10/5, I would do so in a heartbeat! Thank you to everyone there for providing us with an unforgettable evening!
