We
stayed
at
the
Oceanic
Hotel
from
November
11,
2022,
to
November
13,
2022.
On
the
day
of
our
departure
from
the
hotel,
Sunday,
November
13,
2022,
after
putting
our
bags
in
the
car,
two
men
approached
our
vehicle
while
we
were
a
few
meters
(2-3)
away
from
the
car.
They
stole
a
personal
bag
with
our
wallets
(300
USD,
100
000
Chilean
pesos,
and
credit
cards
inside),
passports,
all
documents,
and
personal
items.
Then,
they
went
in
the
car
(a
white
Toyota
Hilux)
and
left
immediately
from
the
hotel
parking
lot.
During
our
stay,
we
noticed
that
the
hotel
parking
lot
was
locked,
and
cars
could
only
enter
and
leave
the
premises
as
long
as
someone
from
the
hotel
staff
opened
the
gate
(chain).
I
want
to
point
out
that
someone
from
the
hotel
had
to
allow
vehicle
entry
and
exit
after
the
break-in.
We
went
to
the
front
desk
immediately
after
we
were
robbed
and
explained
the
situation.
We
asked
for
help
at
the
front
desk
to
contact
the
police,
as
we
are
foreigners
and
have
no
knowledge
of
the
Spanish
language.
We
also
asked
the
receptionist
if
it
was
possible
to
get
the
recording
of
the
security
camera
covering
the
entrance
and
parking
lot.
The
receptionist
assured
us
that
all
the
information
had
been
passed
to
the
police,
with
the
photo
of
the
license
plates
of
the
cars
and
the
faces
of
the
thieves.
Finally,
the
receptionist
informed
us
that
we
had
to
wait
for
the
police
at
the
hotel.

After
more
than
an
hour
and
a
half
of
waiting
at
the
hotel
reception,
the
receptionist
informed
us
that
we
had
to
go
to
the
police
station
on
our
own
and
that
the
police
were
not
coming,
contrary
to
what
the
hotel
staff
had
said.
Immediately
after
leaving
the
hotel,
we
went
to
the
police
station
indicated
by
the
receptionist
to
receive
confirmation
that
we
had
been
robbed,
which
was
necessary
to
apply
for
temporary
passports
at
the
Polish
Embassy.
We
were
surprised
to
hear
at
the
indicated
police
station
that
they
had
not
received
any
information
from
the
hotel
staff
about
the
theft.
Therefore,
the
one
and
a
half
hour
wait
time
at
the
hotel
when
the
receptionist
was
supposedly
reporting
the
situation
to
the
police
only
delayed
our
testimony
at
the
police
station.
The
delay
also
gave
the
thieves
time
to
escape
and
attempt
to
steal
the
money
from
our
credit
cards.
During
that
time,
we
received
notifications
about
attempts
to
pay
the
amount
of
988888.00
CLP
with
the
stolen
credit
cards
at
the
Movitechs
Spa
Valparaiso
ATM.
In
addition,
contrary
to
what
the
receptionist
said,
the
security
camera
recordings
were
not
passed
on
to
the
police
either.
Despite
the
loss
of
the
wallets
(with
money
and
credit
cards
inside)
and
the
incredibly
difficult
process
of
obtaining
temporary
documentation
and
traveling
back
to
Europe
with
it,
we
are
extremely
disappointed
with
the
Oceanic
Hotel
staff
who
not
only
failed
to
help
us
but
through
their
neglect
of
security
measures
exposed
us
to
a
very
dangerous
situation
and
later
delayed
our
contact
with
law
enforcement
officials.
