The location is great and the view is spectacular. Great price too! BUT the hotel is old; probably only minimum maintenance has been done over the past 30 years and when you walk into your room it looks like you're entering a movie from the 80s. The towels are add old as the hotel itself and on a really bad note, it is only accessible through stairs (from the street and then another staircase to your room ) so this is no place for the physically challenged. So good place for young couples to spend the night only and walk around all day long.

This is not a 4 star hotel. The condition of the rooms and overall facility would reflect more of a 2 or 3 star hotel. Our window shade was broken and would not open. It was noisy on a busy street and difficult to sleep. You could easily hear noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms. The rooms are basic and without frill. They want to serve you breakfast in your room, but the rooms are tiny and do not have tables. I later discovered this is because the dining room is small and can not accommodate all of the guests. We asked to eat in the finish room, as did two other groups of guests but the tables were not cleaned when we went down there. The breakfast has instant powdered coffee — NOT something a 4 star hotel should ever do. To check out, we had to wait for housekeeping to “check the room” and make sure you didn’t take anything from the minibar. A 4 star hotel should trust their guests and let you have an automatic and speedy checkout. On the positive side, the pool is nice and the view of the sea is beautiful. Cost was 99 USD. Not worth the price.

Perfect location and our balcony right by the sea with the various birds giving us a night time show at sea, at sunset. Then the sparkle of the city as the sun goes down....perfect setting, great dinner, really nice and helpful staff and an enjoyable breakfast! We could not have asked for more! Book the seaview if possible, would be a shame to miss the sunsetting from your bedroom window!

We stayed at the Oceanic Hotel from November 11, 2022, to November 13, 2022. On the day of our departure from the hotel, Sunday, November 13, 2022, after putting our bags in the car, two men approached our vehicle while we were a few meters (2-3) away from the car. They stole a personal bag with our wallets (300 USD, 100 000 Chilean pesos, and credit cards inside), passports, all documents, and personal items. Then, they went in the car (a white Toyota Hilux) and left immediately from the hotel parking lot. During our stay, we noticed that the hotel parking lot was locked, and cars could only enter and leave the premises as long as someone from the hotel staff opened the gate (chain). I want to point out that someone from the hotel had to allow vehicle entry and exit after the break-in. We went to the front desk immediately after we were robbed and explained the situation. We asked for help at the front desk to contact the police, as we are foreigners and have no knowledge of the Spanish language. We also asked the receptionist if it was possible to get the recording of the security camera covering the entrance and parking lot. The receptionist assured us that all the information had been passed to the police, with the photo of the license plates of the cars and the faces of the thieves. Finally, the receptionist informed us that we had to wait for the police at the hotel. Nie podobało się · After more than an hour and a half of waiting at the hotel reception, the receptionist informed us that we had to go to the police station on our own and that the police were not coming, contrary to what the hotel staff had said. Immediately after leaving the hotel, we went to the police station indicated by the receptionist to receive confirmation that we had been robbed, which was necessary to apply for temporary passports at the Polish Embassy. We were surprised to hear at the indicated police station that they had not received any information from the hotel staff about the theft. Therefore, the one and a half hour wait time at the hotel when the receptionist was supposedly reporting the situation to the police only delayed our testimony at the police station. The delay also gave the thieves time to escape and attempt to steal the money from our credit cards. During that time, we received notifications about attempts to pay the amount of 988888.00 CLP with the stolen credit cards at the Movitechs Spa Valparaiso ATM. In addition, contrary to what the receptionist said, the security camera recordings were not passed on to the police either. Despite the loss of the wallets (with money and credit cards inside) and the incredibly difficult process of obtaining temporary documentation and traveling back to Europe with it, we are extremely disappointed with the Oceanic Hotel staff who not only failed to help us but through their neglect of security measures exposed us to a very dangerous situation and later delayed our contact with law enforcement officials.

The hotel is very beautiful, situated over the rocks by the sea. The view from the bedroom is amazing and the facilities are comfortable and charming, regardless of its age. The hotel is a little old but was already going through a renewal of the floor. Thoughtful and well prepared staff. The restaurant is also great, with good food e medium prices.

Spent a couple of nights in this hotel. Pros: Generally clean and the staff was attentive and amiable. Cons: Rooms and facilities were small, bathrooms had the absolutely minimum furnishings, no air conditioning, car parking is small and in open air exposed to the elements, including sea breeze and salt. Also, traffic makes a bit dangerous to get the car into the lot. The staff didn't bother cleaning under the beds and the small courtesy safe in our room didn't work. Despite being described as "free" is expected to leave a tip for certain services, like meals.

Fabulous location. Right on the rocks with crashing waves below. Wonderful view of Valparaiso lights twinkling at night. Exhilarating. Friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast. Best to book a room on the sea side as it is close to avoid nouse from the busy road. The immediate locale is a little run down but Renaca is a short distance north and Vena del mar is just a bit south.

Have stayed in this hotel in the past. Gorgeous location. I made a reservation this past December. The policy says you have 48 hrs. to cancel before the credit card is charged. Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip and I canceled the reservation within 6 hours of having made it. The hotel had charged my credit card and has not refunded my card yet! Too bad that I will not be able to stay in this hotel ever again due to its staff's lack of seriousness with their policies.

Very excellent. Very pretty. Be mindful of people around docks, keep money and valuables in shoes, wear no jewelry, and only venture out during daylight. One of the finest views and experiences anywhere in the world. Seth Kolodny
