Overall it was great day. Fun, day trip with the kids. We had beautiful weather today, early Spring. The park was full but not over crowded witch I am sure could cause a different experience. If the park were any fuller I don’t think it would have been as enjoyable. So my advice is try to visit when it’s not overwhelmingly crowded. The zoo is clean and being updated in some areas that look really nice. Good idea to bring lunch. Very big picnicking area and playground for kids. Smaller children have a separate playground close by witch is convenient. I would either go earlier to the zoo then plan lunch after and playground, or go around lunch time, eat in the picnic area and let your kids play then hit the zoo till closing. Leave yourself 2-3 hours for the zoo part and another 1-2 hours for lunch and playground. Parking is a little tricky especially if it’s busy. So be patient while finding a parking spot. The zoo has a few nice little places to stop for Concession food. And several machines for snacked and drinks along your journey. Bathrooms were pretty clean but expect a wait in line depending on how busy it is. Foot traffic inside the park can be tricky to navigate with large strollers. I recommend single strollers if needed. Double wide strollers could get ugly if it’s busy. The park is free to enter just donations are given At will. Have fun and be safe! Worth the trip!

it was extremely crowded everywhere. the porta-potties here were horrendous. but the animals were pretty cool to see! the safari cafe was an interesting experience. it was set up like a buffet, and you grabbed your food as you moved along the line. overall, 3 star experience

One of the best zoos on the East Coast. Free to enter, but you should definitely leave a donation. Enclosures for animals are large and clean. Animals seem content and healthy. Plenty of concession stands and souvenirs. They also have a large tree and zip line course for an extra fee. Plenty of parking plus a really nice park with picnic tables and a playground. People often have parties or get togethers there.

Went down June 2022 for a week trip. I enjoyed it. The zoo is well organized and clean. The staff are friendly. When entering, they accept donations so please bring some cash. It helps to keep the place running and the animals healthy and happy. Absolutely loved it since it was educational and fun to do.

I recently visited the zoo and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. The zoo had a natural and welcoming atmosphere, making it a joy to explore. The menagerie was not only diverse but also incredibly beautiful. It was a pleasure to see them up close. The general condition of the zoo was excellent and it was evident that the staff put a lot of effort into maintaining the facilities. Speaking of the staff, they were incredibly friendly and attentive to visitors, which added to the positive atmosphere. I highly recommend this zoo to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable day surrounded by the wonders of nature.

I have been coming to this zoo since I was a kid, and have always enjoyed it. There are a lot of different animals, some of which you can feed like the goats, and they are clearly well cared for. The location is nice and there are some well-shaded areas to escape from the sun. Also, it’s free to go to. They take donations! I spent about 1.5 hours here but the bird exhibit was closed when I went, so I imagine I might have spent about 2 hours if that were open. I recommend checking this place out and supporting them.

This is the BEST Zoo that you can go to. Located in South Jersey, it is the best kept secret. The Zoo works off of donations. The staff is SUPER FRIENDLY!! The animals are beautiful and well taken care of. Plenty of shade for both your family's and the animals. You can buy food and have a picnic in the zoo. You can also bring your own food and eat outside of the Zoo on picnic grounds. There are gift shops to buy souvenirs. A HUGE playground outside the Zoo to play on. Last but not least....there are PLENTY of places for photos to be taken, either of the animals or your family. My family and I have been going here for 20 years, if not more!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Great zoo! Awesome place for a nice day out with the family. The Zoo is within the Cape May County Park which is a huge park and has a large playground. We did not use the playground as it was very crowded and my baby is only 9 month. However, we enjoyed the zoo. Free admission and free parking. Donations are accepted. The Zoo was well maintained and staffed. Plenty of animals to see. I loved the layout of the zoo. The paths were very stroller friendly and pretty much a loop, so you get to see all the animals without really needing to look at the map. It will probably take about 2 hours to see everything. The park was also nice. There is a disc golf course, walking paths and a little pond. Lots of benches, pavilions and BBQ grills.

I love this Zoo!!! First off they only ask for a Donation, there is no set charge, so be generous! It's a beautiful Zoo!! It's the only place I've ever seen albino deer. And after seeing the animals, there is an awesome play area for the kids. I highly recommend going for a beautiful family outing.

I absolutely LOVE this zoo!! It so much fun and they are always adding new exhibits on! And its free to enter! The playground there is absolutely huge! The grounds are gorgeous and they added a disc golf course! The playground also has handicap accessible swing and other fun things! You can also rent a pavilion with a bbq grill for extremely cheap!! I highly recommend doing that for a kids birthday party!

This is a great little zoo with some really cool animals I wouldn't expect given it's free admission! You can walk through and see most of it in under 2 hours if you're short on time, or spend the day and bring food to picnic or hang out. There's a playground for kids and plenty of pavilions with space if you want to come with a group too. There's a good mix of primates, cats, and even some giraffes. Lots of peacocks and birds between the different animal pens make it a lot of fun to walk around too. The red panda was my favorite!

Cape May Zoo is a good fun experience for the family. Kids really enjoyed seeing all the animals. I am not a big fan of zoo seeing caged animals and most often they are lying down. However, experience in this zoo was much better, animals were active and roaming around as well. We saw lot of animals like, Giraffe, Ostrich, Zebra, Camel, Bison, Bear, Red Panda, Lion, Cheetah, Monkeys, Alpaca, Tortoise, Deers, Kangaroos, birds, reptiles, etc. Food in the Safari Cafe was decent with Pizza and sandwiches. After the zoo, kids and adults had a great time playing in the play area in front of the zoo. Play area has slides, swings for all ages. Play area has special needs friendly swings as well. All of us had a great time.

My GF and I stopped here and had a good time. It was crowded but tolerable. They have lions and giraffes, which I wasn't expecting. They also have a zip line tree adventure course outside of the zoo. Coming into the park (from the back), you kinda just wander through a small forest. It took us a couple of hours to walk through and see everything. They also have a full cafe/restaurant and some other water and food stands. There was no cost to enter, but they have someone holding a bucket taking donations.

Free admission to the zoo!!! They do look for and appreciate donations. Huge playground near the parking lot before you get to the zoo entrance. Great amount of shade which helps on those hot summer days. All of the enclosures were well kept and the animals were engaging. Plenty to see and do. Just off to the side is the Tree Top adventure park where for a reasonable fee, you can climb obstacles and zip line through the woods. Lots of picnic areas near the parking lot also.

Completely free to visit: an amazing zoo! No tickets, no parking fee, get there early, beat the crowds, and you'll see many active animals and find plenty of parking early. Zoo was very clean, crowds were friendly, animals seemed happy. We spent $75 as a family, and it was entirely on concessions and souvenirs. I pay more for that in admission to zoos in other states! There's a playground near the main entrance, and you can take your kids there to play before or after trip. The entire zoo can be walked in 2-3 hours, so feel free to enjoy the carousel or the playground after spending time with the animals. Cons: few staff members outside of handypersons and security, like there aren't many staff by the way of biologists or even info desk people (the info desk we kept passing was empty for 3 straight hours) to ask questions about specific enclosures or animals. High-traffic pathways, especially elevated boardwalks, become a clogged mess of people, with little-to-no crowd control. Some animals never had the doors to their enclosures opened (Emu and Red Panda, specifically), so they never came out while we visited. These cons barely add up as a negative though, because it's FREE, it's big, and it's clean. Five stars, we plan on coming back soon for an animal encounter!

For a donation only location the space allotted for the animals is amazing. The cleanliness, space, amount of different walkways and paths , I could go on and on. And to be directly off the parkway there is no way to not stop in for a visit. Parking is plentiful, kids play areas , multiple pavilions for a day out , disc golf.. I began to wonder what this park DIDN'T have. Highly recommend!

Me and my mom make it a tradition to visit this zoo on the way home from the shore and the animals are very active I put photos of my 3 favorites with my #1 being the condor because they really like showing off their wings and it was even cleaning them before it showed them off (a true showman). This zoo is very laid back and relaxing to go though and it is very clean. I recommend you support this zoo by either donating or going to gift shop. Best part about this zoo is that it is free admission.

This is a clean and well kept zoo with fantastic exhibits and a great walking size. Two hours is a good amount of time when it’s quiet to get around. Great cages and viewing from elevated walkways. We really enjoyed this trip. Good food in central area of the park with lots of shade and seating. I can see this gets busy in high season but it was a great visit just the day after Thanksgiving.

FREE….Fulfilled entertainment for all ages! Yes you read correctly, this zoo runs off of donations and is better kept than most pay to visit zoos. They have a huge picnic and playground that you can visit before or after entering the zoo. You can also have BBQ or birthday parties at one of the pavilions. There’s already a grill there, but you would need to bring your own charcoal. Food and snacks available for purchase throughout the property as well as giftshops. My girlfriend and I love this place, truly a place that brings you back to being a kid!

Amazing! Cape May County Park Zoo is so beautiful and peaceful. It felt like walking through a variety of countries and continents the way the zoo was set-up. I will return to the zoo when I visit NJ again. I had a great time and the animals were visually stunning and cared for. The staff does an outstanding job caring and providing for these captive animals.

I love this place. It's sad to see it as empty as it is with the lack of people walking around because they are scared of covid. Come 1 come all and bring all the kids to see the wonderful wild life and friendly people who work there. Help this place out and donate!! The wheel chair rentals are $10 and the electric scooters are $30. We were there today with our whole family. We ate food at the stands and drank soda. Most of the stand are open for business. Would recommend to everyone!! A+++

I am only giving two stars because of the way its set up for "social distancing." You cant social distance if everyone is herded in a one way direction. You cant seperate from crowds and go your own way. It makes no sense. This zoo has been a part of my life for over 20 yrs and today was the first time I was disappointed being there. You cant go in the reptile house, you cant go in the bird house. You cant walk the safari walk without being surrounded by people. And yet the playgrounds are open.

We loved our first trip there. It was free admission day and the free concert at the park was the greatest. We drove over two hours and it was so worth it. The kids even got to mine their own rocks. They found Jasper, Amethyst, Obsidian, Rise quartz and more. The zoo was bigger than others we have been to and the animals we amazing. We will definitely be going again.

First time I was every there but I'll definitely be going back. A beautiful place with plenty of space to watch the animals roam. Very clean with friendly workers and volunteers to help if you have any questions. And best of all you can't beat the price...FREE! Yes it's free. The zoo survives from generous people making contributions. So instead of having staff walking around hitting you up for a donation they have boxes around the zoo where you can make a contribution. I feel that is much more classier than having someone pestering you to reach in your pocket. We will be back soon.

This was a great zoo! And even better, it’s free!!! While we weren’t able to see all of the animals since it was a hot day, we still saw enough to feel like it was worth the drive. They also have 2 modest priced cafes available for food, a carousel to ride ($3 pp) and there is a zip line adventure park on site (additional cost). Overall we really enjoyed our time. Even though it was a holiday weekend, we still felt like it wasn’t too crowded to enjoy it!

This completely free zoo is a great addition to the South Jersey area. There is plenty to do here to keep a family busy for the day. The accessibility is good, I was able to easily navigate the zoo with my scooter. The bathrooms were plentiful and easy to access with my cane. The gift shop areas are small with a small selection. We are at the cafe which was mediocre. It was average museum cafe food. The best thing about the zoo is that it is well shaded with trees. I will return here again.

Clean, spacious, ample parking and fun activities. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Quite variety of animals and fun activities throughout. Admission is free, but donations are really appreciated. With no entry fee & everything there is to see, I always try to drop at least 20 bucks in the the entry attendant’s donation bucket at any of the entrances where they’re handing out the maps of the zoo. Definitely a Cape May county gem.

This was a nice little zoo for what it was. It wasn't too crowded and it was free, donations are welcomed. Venue is highly recommended for people with kids. It is easier to walk on a relatively small, you can get through it in 1 hour. There were animals like the giraffe and a lion which was nice to see you. You can also feed the goats which was a big hit for kids. Nice play areas. Nice picnic areas. Food at a good price. Clean.

This is a zoo that I have been coming to since I was a child. And now I get to bring my daughter and nephew. It's a great way to spend time with family. They have all kinds of animals to see. There are benches along the paths in case you need to take a break. There are two areas to buy food and drinks. I would say to see everything it would take 2 hours or so. Depending on walking speed n breaks taken. I always make sure to donate as most animals are rescues.

The Cape May County Zoo is a wonderful stop for individuals or families. The zoo operates on donations, and they maximize their dollars providing a safe environment for both animals and guests. Feed the farm animals, visit the aviary or reptile houses, or find the animals in their spacious habitats. There is a large playground outside of the zoo, great for letting kids burning off some energy before or after your visit. Highly recommend!

  • 5/5 Sarah R. 3 years ago on Google
Loved my experience here at the zoo. They have everything set up so you can walk through a majority of the zoo in one way direction fashion. We went the day before Thanksgiving and it was pleasantly empty for the most part. Everyone was good about wearing masks and staying socially distanced. There were two animals that I wanted to see that were not out when I came but that's okay. I loved the long wooden walk-way at the back of the zoo where the Snow Leopard + Red Panda + Safari animals were located. Many of the animals here are being rehabilitated or are injured and cannot be released back into the wild and they look like they're being well taken care of. The albino white tailed deer were so neat to look at! If you would like to reach out to me about any photos you may contact @rahsphotos on instagram.

I visited here this past Friday, September 4th. This Zoo is really cute and kept pretty well maintained. They have signs all around reminding guest about social distancing and to make sure you wear your mask at all times to ensure the safety of the animals. Some of the exhibits were closed as I assumed because of our current COVID situation. This place is free, but they do take donations. When ordering any food be on the lookout for seagulls as they look to steal your food. As you leave there is a cute gift shop. I definitely recommend this zoo and would most definitely come back again!

The zoo is nice and it's also free. Most animals have more room to walk around than some of the top zoos in the Country. You are on a mostly shaded boardwalk for the entire visit. Did not like wearing masks outside but guess that's just the way it is these days. I feel sorry for the animals in zoos, but this is a pretty good one as far as zoos go.

Love this zoo and I'm thankful for it. Entrance is free but I feel good donating what I can. At steady pace a full lap is around a 1-1.5hr walk, but there are plenty of spots you may want to stop at for preferred animal residents - weather dependent. There are less available during winter (particularly the avian section). Peacocks and guinea fowl freely roam the zoo. My toddler is always happy here. They keep an interesting variety from the animal kingdom and they are well kept as far as I can tell. I expect to be back here many times!

Love the giraffe feeding. This is a great place for a family outing. The zoo is free, asking only for donations. There are picnic areas in the park and a wonderful playground for children.

Great place to see some interesting animals, our favorites were the zebra family, the snow leopard, the foxes and buffaloes. The kids also loved running along the boardwalk plus the big playground area.

Another great day at the zoo. Even in the February cold it's always clean and ready for visitors. Admission is free however, please, please, please donate something as you enter the park.

One of the greatest ways to spend the day with your family on the Jersey Shore! The Cape May County Zoo and Park is a beautifully maintained park and zoo complex that covers acres and provides all kinds of fun activities for the entire family year round. There are many picnicking areas, a zip line and rope course, nicely wooded hiking and biking trails, and of course the fantastic zoo! This zoo is amazing and many of the displays are large and spacious for the animals. All of the staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. This place runs on donations so please be generous!

This zoo is amazing for the size. We have been coming every year on our trip to Cape May. The enclosures seem well cared for and the animals content. The fact that it is donation based definitely makes it a great choice for any families on a tight budget who still want to have some fun family time together.

Beautiful zoo and surprised how well maintained compare to other one who has entry fees. Of course since it is a free entry zoo has a lot of public. This zoo still in progress building more places for animals. Grab a zoo map and plan out your route. Talking about free zoo maintain very well and clean. For my next visit definitely will bring my family here and recommend this place for all little kids.

Honestly, they have baby capybaras, and that is enough for me to give 10 stars. But for those not obsessed with capybaras, still a fantastic zoo. It is free to get in, although donations are welcome! They have a nice selection of animals and their habitats are a decent size, and well cared for all around. Lovely way to spend a few hours.

One of the best zoo in the city. I wonder that its totally free. There is also a park for the children.

The Cape May Zoo is always a fantastic visit on a gorgeous day. From bears and giraffes to crocodiles and otters, the Cape May Zoo animals seem happy and well cared for. This donation entry zoo is very stroller and wheelchair friendly, family oriented and has great snack options. Truly a gem when visiting any of the shore towns in Cape May county. Direct route off of exit 11 of the garden state parkway, it's easy to hop on and off the parkway here.

Great zoo with plenty of animals for both kids and adults to enjoy. Admission is free, and they have donation boxes around you can contribute to. We went on a Saturday in early October and it had a decent crowd, but no overly crowded. Parking was easy, and there are some nice trails you can walk along as well. Most animals were active, which the kids enjoyed. And before you walk in, there is a carousel.

  • 5/5 Eric A. 2 years ago on Google
We went during the off season and about 30 minutes before closing. No crowds anywhere. Animals close enough to easily view and the zoo was very easy to get around, even for handicap individuals. I definitely would go back when I had more time to liesurely enjoy.

One of the best county zoo in New Jersey! And it’s free admission (but please donate when you go). Easy to navigate, clean, helpful staff. Good for kids (and adults!). Great rainy day trip when you are vacationing at the shore.

  • 5/5 Stephen T. 2 years ago on Google
A wonderful zoo! The perfect size for an afternoon trip (usually takes us about 2 hours to go through). Free to the public, but they usually ask for a donation when you are entering the parking lot. They have a wide variety of animals, including some you can pet! Some of them wander around the zoo, too, which is really fun.

  • 5/5 Melissa F. 2 years ago on Google
I highly recommend this park & zoo! You can spend hours here and it's free. They have snack booths and restrooms. I love the cute and exotic animals there! There's so much to see and you can bring your family, your significant other, your friends, etc!

This was the first time I've been here since the 90s, it's changed a lot but still has the sweet feel to it. It's a cute zoo that's very well kept. I loved the raised "boardwalk" path that makes it possible for little ones to be able to see animals that aren't right up at the fence (as some animals are in very big areas).

  • 5/5 Jongbok Y. 2 years ago on Google
My sons love this place. This zoo is based on donation, not entrance fee. Among many animals, I love snow leopards who were somewhat active today. There are many walk up in the air which give nice views of animals and nature. There is no food stand inside but there are some outside. Also there is a good and wide park for kids.

Hear ye, hear ye! New Jersey residents and visitors all around! GO TO THIS ZOO! GO NOW! Well finish reading this review and then put Cape May County Park & Zoo in your GPS, grab your spouse(s) and children and GO THERE! How could you not?! IT'S FREE! YES FREE! TOTALLY FREE! Unless you eat or drink something from their cafe or snack shop... but still, even in this horrid economy, it's FREE! and it's WONDERFUL! I had no idea this place existed until my other half said to me "let's go see this zoo" on one of our adventure awaits weekends. It is HUGE! For a free zoo, it's enormous and the grounds are extremely well kept and you can't beat a species collection of over 500! Again... FREE! I was truly amazed and for a day we felt like kids again. I've frequented the Bronx Zoo many times in my life but I gotta say, this zoo is now one of my personal favorites and I would happily go back anytime given the chance. You won't be disappointed. It is truly worth visiting and as always let's remember to be good to Mother Earth and our home planet... support the Wildlife Conservation Society in any way that you can.

Cape May Zoo is always excellent to visit! The zoo is free to all visitors, but you can leave a donation if you'd like. My family visited on June 7, 2022 and it was a bit crowded, but not horrible. The zoo is always clean and well kept, with very friendly, knowledgeable staff and a wide variety of animals.

  • 5/5 Pasquale C. 1 year ago on Google
This was a great experience. The zoo is so much better and they treat the animals so much better than other nearby zoos (Philadelphia) the amount of information provided to guests is great. There are so many animals and things to do you could easily spend several hours here but it was quite hot when I went. I would give 5 stars but then one fact make all of this better which is the fact that it is 100% free but encourage donations.

What a gem in Cape May County! Even in winter on a holiday, it's a great place to visit. We went on New Year's Day, and though damp, cold, and cloudy, there were plenty of active animals. And, no crowds! Highly recommended.

  • 5/5 Lisa R. 1 year ago on Google
For a FREE zoo, this was well worth a visit! They do take donations for parking. It's not huge, which makes the visit a fairly relaxing one. You can see the residents in a relatively short time, which is especially nice for families with young children or if it's a particularly hot day. Guides are helpful. Food & beverages are available, but it isn't over commercialized.

Although this zoo is free and it’s neatly maintained - I’m not a big advocate for some of the animals they have there. Last time I was there I saw the lions and bears pacing back and forth which showed the animals were stressed - after that I stopped going, wasn’t nice to see. I’m not one for locking animals in cages unless it’s a sanctuary but that’s an argument for another day. But, I guess it’s a good stop for educational purposes- just wish I didn’t have to see those animals pacing or something more was done for them.

Great zoo! Free to get in but they do accept donations to help with the animals and facilities. Animals always seem cared for and the zoo is kept very clean. The park area is very nice as well. Great playgrounds and picnic areas to rest and eat. Highly recommend!👍🏻

I had THE best day here. They allowed everyone to bring in their own drinks, which was nice because there's a lot of walking. The entire place is beautiful and set up with enough shade so that you don't feel like you're boiling in the Sun the entire time. Naturally, I learned a lot about the animals, and it was cool to see a lot of animals that we're going to live out their life there because they were unable to live in the wild due to injury. I got to trash-talk the bison. There is some true beef going on among the flamingos. I would plan on spending some time there because it's fascinating. I spent 10 minutes watching a stubborn turtle traverse a sand bar, knocking into any other turtle that happened to be in their way. That alone was worth the donation. Also, I got a smashed penny.

Beautiful zoo! It's no fee to get in, but they do take donations, which I did indeed give a Donation. Beautiful park that has many different types of animals. This zoo is so much better than the Philadelphia Zoo.

This was my 2nd time here. My first time visiting was a few years ago and it's still nice. My little one enjoyed seeing all the animals, especially the farm animals since she's in love with those. We went on a Wednesday around 11:30 and it wasn't crowded but there were a good amount of people there. It was definitely busier last time I went, which was on a weekend.

Definitely a local place to support! They're such a nice zoo and not only do they not charge anything for admission/parking and only take donations, they don't overcharge for the things they do charge for. The carousel, the food, gift shop, are all reasonable as far as I'm concerned. Definitely stop by and don't forget to donate whatever you can!

  • 5/5 Tiffany W. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful zoo, takes about 2-3 hrs to go around (depending on the age of your kiddos). Free admission, they run completely on donations. Very clean and well maintained.

A must visit for everyone/any age when visiting South Jersey. A great facility with some of the best animal environments in any zoo. You've NEVER seen anything like what they provide for their large (and I mean large) tortoises. Be generous with your voluntary donation when you arrive. There is no set fee but you'll get a value no matter how generous you are. Maybe you'll even want to give a little at the end... it's that nice. Also, other activities and amenities on the park grounds (like the adventure thrills and zip lines). Family and group friendly.

We have been visiting this zoo for a number of years and love it every time! Such a well-taken care of, beautiful place! We've been to multiple zoos that are not donation-based and charge a set admission price, but Cape May Zoo is definitely our favorite! Shaded walkways, reasonably priced cafe/snacks, and friendly staff. Plus, there are multiple playgrounds and picnic tables right outside the zoo. Hoping the bird sanctuary will be open next year when we come back!

Beautiful impressive FREE zoo! When vacationing in Wildwood, this is always our stop on the way home. Animals are well kept, the grounds are immaculate, it's very easy to navigate and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. It is a must see/visit when in the area.

  • 5/5 Nithin V. 8 months ago on Google
Great zoo for free!! They have a lot of animals compared to some of the paid ones nearby. This place is very neatly maintained. There is no parking fee. The zoo works fully on donation. Zoo welcomes kids with a big playground right opposite to the parking. There are a lot of camping benches to sit nearby and have food as well when the kids play in the park. There are a lot of animals on display, which can not be found in other zoos nearby, like zebras, kangaroos, and big turtles. The safari place gives real forest feel when we enter. We went on a Thursday morning, and it was not super crowded at 10 am, but by 11 or so, there were a lot of people. So a summer weekend may not be a good idea. If you are on vacation to capemay or wildwood with kids, this is a great place to make kids happy about the beach vacation, for sure....

It's better than the Philadelphia zoo and way cleaner. The habitats are bigger, and the best part was admission was FREE and parking was also FREE! I had never been there, and this was my first visit of hopefully more to come. Very nice time with family and friends during a holiday weekend and large crowds, but the flow was just fine.

Grew up going to the Cape May Co. Zoo and have always loved it. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff is incredibly informative and helpful. We bring our 11 month old daughter here on an almost weekly basis and she is always entertained for the time we are there. They also have other activities outside of the zoo that include a playground, gift shop, a carousel open on weekends in the summer, tree-to-tree zip line, trails, and much more. The African Savanna is my daughters favorite exhibit with the giraffes and zebras. The new cafe is nice addition as there were not many food options prior. The only downside to the cafe is the price, reason being the free admission and free parking. The summer can be hectic with many tourists and locals crowding the popular exhibits but in the off-season or on certain days and times, you can find yourself having a good time without the hustle and bustle. If you are planning on stopping at the CMC Zoo do it. It is so much fun for the whole family!

We were really surprised at how nice this zoo was. We didn't come in with low expectations, but we had tempered expectations since it was free. But there were a lot of cool animals and exhibits! Our kids had a great time and we only had to leave because it was getting too hot.

  • 5/5 Karethra B. 6 months ago on Google
This is one of the better small zoos we have visited. However, there were still a few animals that exhibited duress with constant pacing and little inside their cages to distract them. The zoo is free but they do have people at the ready with buckets to accept donations. There were only a couple of hundred people there (noted by the zoo's people counter), so it was relatively empty and not many vendors open. No line for the restrooms was great!
