This review covers both Wadköping and Örebro och both places are well worth a visit. Park your car at Wadköping (5 kr per hour ) and start your journey by walking through the village. Yup they are all red in colour but they are also from different centuries. It's like going back in time and seeing actual houses built 300 plus years ago. It's a fascinating place. Once you have seen enough keep walking towards the beautiful botanical garden's and park. Beautifully set out with flowers, sculptures water fountains and a lovely river flowing on one side. Follow the river path and you will leave Wadköping behind you. Within minutes you come to Örebro with its amazing Castle, Skulptures and magnificent buildings. For me it was a big WOW. I could write about so many things too see in Örebro but I think you should just check it out yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Beautifully preserved old buildings arranged like a small town center with many artists and people sharing their trades.- wood workers, blackmiths and silversmiths who sell their products. Many educational places for children and adults alike. The are plenty of outdoor spaces and two neighboring parks with gorgeous plants and greenery. Wadköping also offers two second hand stores, a restaurant/café and a candy and ice cream shop. One can definitely spend many hours shopping, exploring and learning

Absolutely loved it there! Cute little shops, restaurant, cafe, picnic grounds around it. Lovely park nearby. Great place for a date or just casual browsing. You can find here crystals, obscure objects, Harry Potter universe wands, beautiful notebooks and great metal cans (from small to really big!). Highly recommend visiting store with spreads and olive oils - REALLY nice stuff, great for gifts, but also for a gift to yourself 🤗

One of my most favourite places in Örebro. Outdoor museum, lovely cafe, bakery and restaurant. Right next to City Park, wonderful playground, gardens, water park and café

Old swedish log house (~350 years) painted with red pigments. It's beautiful.

Very nice little open-air museum with impressive old buildings relocated to the museum. Most of the buildings contain nice little shops or exhibitions.

Örebro Wadköping is an open-air museum located in the heart of Örebro, Sweden. "Step back in time" Wadköping is designed to transport visitors back in time to the 19th century, when the town was a bustling center of industry and commerce. The streets and buildings of the museum are preserved and restored to recreate the town's historical charm and character.

Wadköping and the adjacent park is a super nice open air museum and green areas perfect ro spend a sunny afternoon. Some nice little shops and cafes, a bit pricy but still worth a visit. Might be very crowded during holidays.

Nice old history place, that learns you and your relatives about old Sweden. Very family friendly (since there is playgrounds here and there, shops and cafés). And it’s free (parking space is almost no deal at all, though i’d recommend walking!)

A nice view of Swedish history. Doesn't take long to walk through, but you can always stroll along the river and check out the castle and from there some lunch in the city center.

Lovely area with historical buildings, museums, shops and cafes. Would really recommend to stop by the Hjalmar Bergman museum to put a bit of context to the area. Besides that, great space to wonder around and enjoy the sights the different experiences it offers.

Just a wonderful open air museum of historical buildings dated to couple centuries back. All open free to public during opening hours, some of them have shops or the real workshops where craftsmen are producing various goods. Gem of the city and the country I’ll say.

Nice relocated and maintained Swedish historical buildings. Tour is very much self-guided.

I might be unfair only giving 4 stars. Wadköping definitely gets 5 stars for Ambiance and Cozy Feeling. The quality of the place is in top and an absolute must to visit if you have the least interest in history. My only reason to take it down to 4 stars is that I think I have seen better similar places with regards to information about the historical period depicted. A bit too commercial for my taste, but at the same time I have to say my wife loved it :)
