Small village in the heart of melnik valley where grateful wines are produced. There are many options for restaurants, shops with local products such as wine, honey, home made sweets ( figs, nuts, etc). Rooms are available as well and during February a big festival is running regarding wine, followed by local folklor music and open door wineries

The smallest town in Bulgaria, situated in the Southwestern Pirin Mauntains. Known for it's typical architecture, the Melnik Earth Pyramids and it's wine. Although utterly touristic, well worth a visit.

It is a “must see” and the village is very small and beautiful. If you have young kids they can play at the playground or in the river, there is not much for young kids to do and they cannot handle the heat and steep sandy hiking trails. We’ve been twice with small kids and they get bored. Next time we will leave the kids with baba. No tickets/wait

The smallest town in Bulgaria. Unique. Try the local made bread.

Melnik is a picturesque little village with renovated old architecture... Surrounded by unusually shaped hills... And many traditional restaurants with good food. Nearby is also Rozen monastery, and the grave of the famous Macedonian hero Jane Sandanski.

The beauty of Melnik is outside of Melnik. You should definitely visit the sandstone pyramids and all the little monasteries. A common view in the town are ruins of once beautiful back in the days traditional Bulgarian houses. You can buy good wine from the city as the region is famous with it. There are no sweet and coffee shops only taverns. The local people get very upset when you ask for a coffee instead of wine. Melnik is deffenitly a unique place that is was somehow left behind. It has the potential to be a wonderful touristic destination.

Beautiful little traditional village, nice view, cheap rooms and very expensive restaurants.
