We decided to check this place out for take out after seeing it on TV and being close to where we were staying. My wife and my mother in law are from the islands so we were excited about trying them out. It was more of a 50/50 hit. We ordered stewed chicken, curry chicken, roti, and plantains. Roti with split peas was excellent. Plantains were also great. Chicken dish curry dish was not good. Curry was NOT cooked down enough. There was a bitter taste from it. Stewed chicken was just okay. You can tell they use fresh herbs on their meals but maybe a little more attention to detail on the cooking process.

The setup has changed since I last visited. It is no longer a dine in restaurant. It's carryout only. It's not a bad thing. Grab some food and find a place to sit by the water. There is a river, a lake, an inlet an ocean and a bay within five minutes from here. So your food won't even be cold when you get there. Now let me tell you about the food. Everything on the menu is fantastic. My favorite it the Jerk Chicken Burrito. It's huge by the way and loaded with meat cabbage with rice and beans. The jerk chicken is tender and bursting with flavor. The coco milk rice and beans are a good balance of flavor and an excellent add on in the burrito. My other choice is the Cuban Calypso. It's loaded with pork and bacon on a nice sized piece of cocobread and pressed. This thing is so damn good! So if you are by there and lucky enough to catch them open. Stop in and grab some food to go. I promise you will not be disappointed. Hell even Guy loved it!

Great. Spicy jerk chicken. Hot ham and cheese sandwiches for cheap on good fresh bread(this the cheap ham and cheese sammich rather than the specialty sandwiches). And good plantains, served nice and hot. The jerk chicken was juicy chunks of chicken, not dry at all. On the saucier side, sweet with good spicy kick to it, not too weak on the spicy level which I like.

the lady recommended the jerk bowl, its spicy but its good. tried the loaded jerk fries too. Definitely worth the try!

Amazing food! Locally-owned takeout restaurant. Try the jerk chicken burrito! And coco bread. Delicious vegetarian and vegan options (shack veggie bowl/burrito), and jerk cauliflower that you can substitute for meat to make any dish vegetarian. Staff is knowledgeable on vegan diets - they even made the coco bread vegan for me (omit butter). Guy Fieri featured Carib Shack on Diners, DriveIns and Dives on TV. It’s that good! Such friendly owners, who always remember you when you come in!

** To your response. I am not from the area and I had heard from a friend about the restaurant and we decided to give it a try. It was not 12 of us and we just asked a question there was need to be rude, but you reply supports my review. Treating others with respect is still the same in 1999 and in 2022.. Horrible attitude from the person in the back. Very rude!!!!! We asked if they had Cuban sandwich today, his like it's 2022 you can check the menu before coming in or you can go to the McDonald's across the street!! It's was just a question ⁉️ no need to be rude! We just walked out, no need to get to their level!

Stopped in and got the Cubano and a burger before heading to Deadline Project Brewing for some good beer. The sandwich was amazing and the fried okra was the best I’ve had in a while. It is a “shack” in the sense that it is carry out only.

I've worked near this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed once! The owners are extremely personable, nice, and care about what they do. Every time I have shown up, they made absolutely sure my food is just how I wanted it, and i am always pleased by their stellar customer service. Their food is absolutely to die for, especially if you love jerk chicken or curry!!! Absolutely worth visiting if you live nearby, are passing by, or are from out of town.

One of my favorite places for take out! If you like authentic food from the Caribbean you must try this place "The Carib Shack". Absolutely fantastic!! Every time!! They are consistent with quality as well as quantity. If you enjoy some spicy Caribbean food, with all different levels of heat and exceptional flavor. You must give this place a try. They are constantly adding new items to an already fairly extensive menu. Their food is always fresh, they use only the best quality meat and produce and their food is always bursting with all different flavors of the caribbean.. Should spicy items not be your first choice, then you can always find other great selections, such as their fantastic burgers. As I mentioned, this is one of my favorite local take out spots! I cannot say enough about the food and the hard working owners who consistently put out a top notch product for their customers. Did I mention they are also originally from the U.S Virgin Islands of St. Thomas. They definitely know what they are doing and we are extremely fortunate to have them in our community as a local take out restaurant.

Awesome place. Super friendly service. The food is amazing. I had to jerk pork over coconut milk rice and the cauliflower, both were perfect! I'm from out of town but will definitely check this place out every time I'm here.

Socca bowl will be your new favorite meal. Absolutely delicious. The staff is pretty amazing too.

I love coming here. Food is always SO tasty. The meat is tender, and everything is amazingly flavorful. People there are super helpful and friendly. Meal portion is large even for a small size so recommend to come hungry. The only negative is that the seating area is tiny, so plan to carry out.

Fantastic! Portions too large to finish even after a hike at the park nextdoor. Great jerk bowls, tender meats with great seasoning and just enough heat. Excellent curry bowl, not much heat so you could appreciate the flavor. INCREDIBLE sweet plantain side, pan-fried to perfection with a tender interior and little bits of caramelized chewiness on the outside.

I found the Carib Shack on the way to Zeros Subs and decided to give it a try. Boy, am I glad that I did! That was one of the best Reubens I have had! My kids had the ham and cheese and let me tell you that bread was delicious!! The only reason why I gave 4 stars was because I thought that the sandwiches would have a side item...only to discover I had to pay 3.50 for each side. That brought my total for 4 sandwiches, 3 fries, one okra, 2 waters, and 2 diet cokes to $52. That is a wee bit too much for a lunch for a family.

Curry Chicken over Red Beans and Rice was flavorful, but a bit dry. However, the par-boiled type of rice was chewy and the 2 beans on my plate could have been cooked longer. Portion size was generous. Wait time for in-store ordered carry out was reasonable. Customer service was good. Also appreciate earth-friendly packaging. Would I eat here again? Yes. I like Carribean food. I’d return to try another dish.

First time trying this spot and I will say I was PLEASED. I got the curry bowl with coconut milk rice and peas with a side of plantains. The plantains where my FAVORITE. And the portion of the food was huge. I really wish they offered more sides like Mac and cheese or yams etc but other than that it was very good.

Take out only! Overall, as a Caribbean restaurant, it surprisingly lacked in seasoning and flavor. Ordered the jerk pork bowl, jerk cauliflower bowl, loaded fries, fried sweet plantains, and Caribbean crunchwrap. Overall it falls short in taste, but has potential to be better.

Amazing hidden restaurant. Great quality food, great price and huge portions! The fries are perfect and crispy and the chicken is flavorful and juicy.

Overall great experience! Chickpea stew was delicious! Was even better the next day. 4/5 Coco Bread was good 5/5 Not coco bread 1/5 Roti love that it’s stuffed 5/5 Pepper sauce was hot to me! My friend said it tasted like vinegar water not spicy.
