Best property managers in Charlottesville. The staff are really friendly and help you with almost anything. The maintenance team is quick. Be it emergency request or simple issue, they take it. We had water leakage on the roof and the maintenance came over at night 11pm to fix it. I once had a low pressure on my shower. They replaced the shower for free no questions asked!

(Middle of December Edit: Still no refund despite me going in person and being told that they'd get it taken care of, leaving voicemails, etc. The fact that whichever intern sits on here and wishes half-hearted thanks for 4 and 5 star reviews that probably are just for tenants to get a rebate to pump up their numbers is more responsive than the actual office is a good indicator of their quality) I can't speak to the actual quality of housing but if their application process is indicative of their ability to provide housing, it's not a very good sign. Just assume they are going to stiff you on the application fee if you do apply to their housing. So I applied to one of their listings back in January and I was notified that the listing was no longer available and I would receive a refund on my application. Cool. So I give them the location to send the refund check within a day and they tell me they will send it. It's now the end of June and I still haven't gotten a check back despite calling them and/or emailing them at least once a month and talking to at least two different representatives that they will send me a check. 50 bucks is 50 bucks and I will gladly call them monthly until the end of time to pester them for the money they owe me.

For our first four months there, we were unable to get the bathroom door to close. Maintenance came out six times before this was fixed. Similar problems like having other doors off hinges or our bathtub not draining were left broken for extended periods of time. Two months into a twelve month lease, they asked us to renew. Neighbors told us they were asked to renew 11.5 months in advance; everyone who did regretted it. The apartments were incredibly noisy because of their cheap construction. We confirmed this was not due to upstairs neighbors actually doing anything unreasonable. At one point, management told me all that was needed to get a pet was to notify them and pay a fee, so I did, at which point they sent a contract there had been no mention of and that my roommate did not want to sign. Because of this, I had to give away my dog and lost about $500 for no reason. MSC is an awful property company. edit: Oh yeah, we had roaches the entire time and got robbed twice. Response to management comment: Yes, obviously I know you require us to sign something to have a pet; it's how you made me give my dog away. The issue is that you did not say that when I inquired about getting a pet.

Overall not a bad experience. The apartment was nice, the agency is responsive to any requests you may have, and maintenance is prompt. My only frustration is that they ask you to renew very early (like 2 months after you start your lease) which is rather frustrating and unnecessary considering they still hadn’t found anyone by the 8th month of my lease when I finally decided to renew for a second year.

Don’t live here! Don’t live here! Don’t live here! I have been living here for one year and regret every singe day. I had to move out early because this apartment is too bad. The building is very very old. There is basically no sound proof. So if you have someone living upstairs, you have to bare with the noise (walking, talking, having parties) for one year. The manager isn’t responsive at all. It took him almost three days to respond your urgent noise complaint email. And all he said is he can send a notice to people living upstairs.(which is useless.Who would care a notice sending to their email?) Besides the noise issue, if you are living in the first floor, there will definitely have spiders, bugs in your apartment. The pest control they provided is absolutely useless. Don’t live here if you have other options please.

Living here was a total nightmare and I would not recommend. Maintenance team responded to any issues in a timely manner but being able to complete the request is another story just to say the least. The work that is completed is patch work and 9/10, they have to be contacted in a short time frame for the same issue. While living at the woods, I had pest control issues although my apartment was one of the cleanest which was said by a maintenance staff member. One day I arrived home to a garden snake downstairs by the wood stove, I had mutliple issues with lady bugs not one or two but more like 30-40 entering through the window right above the front door ( window above the front door cant be opened but they were still finding a way inside), lizards getting in the apartment due to the apartment having an open space along the side, issues with mice (thankfully when my lease was about to be up), and of course occasionally spiders and other rodents. Pest control would say they treated the apartment but never did (I would stay home expecting them to come and they would never show but would communicate that they did). They would also be dishonest about traps being left, why??? I have no idea lol. When you contact the maintenance number the lady who answered the phone was polite most of the times but that one time I responded with the same attitude she gave me, I was told I couldn't contact the maintenance office but instead I would have to contact the property manager but was still expected to pay rent. Appliances are outdated and its not worth the rent they charge, overall the community is on the older side so you pretty much get what you pay for. People in the community are friendly and that is what kept me sane. If you are looking for a peace of mind and don't want to worry about creatures getting into your home every other week, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! I HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL AND I SAVE SOMEONE A HUGE HEADACHE. OH YEAH I LIVED AT THE WOODS.

Still loving living here. Our Property Manager, Trey Bell, is AWESOME and takes very good care of me. So does the Owner. The Maintenance Team is always professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The Office Staff always provides excellent service (shout out to the exceptional Lauren!!!). Every experience with an outside contractor sent by management has been pleasant and positive with professional service. I am very grateful and have no complaints.

The maintenance team is quick to resolve your problems, and MSC ensures that the resolution is as high quality as possible. I had an issue with my refrigerator that was fixed, but when it happened again they went ahead and installed a whole new refrigerator! They have always been courteous about my pet in the home and making sure he doesn't get out, and have been very diligent and understanding if there is scheduled maintenance that interferes with a personal plan and working around that.

My shower drain was clogged and I called maintenance and they fixed it in a couple hours and even cleaned my shower for me! super sweet of them. maintenance typically does a great job whenever I call them and management for woodrow apartments is excellent

I asked that the “big ugly bush” be aggressively pruned so that I could see my front door from the cul-de-sac. What I got was an untouched big ugly bush, and three absolutely gorgeous evergreen bushes butchered. I am devastated. Fourteen years of loving care, gone. They will never recover.
