Went there for a birthday dinner get together... curries were good especially prawn curry... but dosas were totally a disappointment... came in the last and half done not crispy..and looks like onion was thrown from a leftover salad. We complained and they did not replaced.

The food was nice but it was extremely overpriced, I paid $25 for a medium sized container of curry (take-out online), usually a LARGE container of take-out costs $20 in literally any restaurant. The curry itself wasn't anything spectacular or fancy, it was simple. Definitely dont recommend buying from here unless you can afford to be broke

Food was amazing 🤩 authentic and pure south Indian taste with great hospitality…..It Jst took me back to south India and refreshed my memories🌼 If u guys r looking for best South Indian restaurant in Darwin It’s #covaicafe We ll definitely come back for Dosa and masala tea ☕️

Had a party for my uncle’s birthday on 19th August but there was only one wait staff for Saturday night and felt really bad for her😔. It was such a busy night and restaurant was full house. Other than that good authentic food and nice environment🌸🌸

Had a dinner in Covai cafe few times. Every time we had a crispy and delicious food with excellent service. But food was a bit costly compare to quantity specially extra sambhar bowl price. Other than really good experience.

I ignored other reviews of the butter chicken but that was a mistake. I ordered a 'normal' spice and it was incredibly bland, think chicken in low fat milk. The most prominent flavour was the smokiness from the chicken. Pretty expensive as well but there was a lot of meat so there's good intentions. The garlic nahn lacked flavour too, only a super light coating. I was hoping dipping it in the curry sauce would help but it added nothing. The saffron rice was really sticky and gluggy too but not sure if this is normal. Sorry guys but super disappointed

Had the buffet. Despite no major complaints, the food was average and lacking in variety. Family-friendly.

Customer service is great. Pleasant and efficient staff. Soft indian classical music playing in the background sets the ambience for this cafe. One has to wait for the food as the kitchen is slow but once the food is out, everyone just loved the food.

We had dinner last night. Loved malai tikka, keema dosa, Chicken Chettinad curry, dal makhni, garlic naan. The best authentic Indian food in Darwin.

Nice chic simple clean and elegant place. Even though we were early, it took some time for the waitress to come to our table. We ordered our food. Menu did say it takes 20 minutes for the idli to be served. Though there were hardly any people at that time it took longer. Food is presented well and tasty but other than sambar, idli vadai and dosai were served at room temperature. Chutney was straight from fridge. I was looking forward to some hot food as I had cold. Anyway, I gave my honest feedback while paying and the guy said they make it fresh and unlike how we serve piping hot at home, they put the idli put to cool and then serve. That explains the time they take to serve but this is the first time in my life I have been to a restaurant where they believe in cooking fresh but serving cold rather than piping hot. It's very expensive too.

Modern fresh vibes meets authentic flavours! The quality of food was next level hands down best Indian I’ve ever eaten in my life big ups to the chef. And as for the atmosphere it’s was brightly lit not my usual fav but fresh and clean. Such a great exp YUMMI

Samosa chat was not as chat. Taste more inclined towards Samosa with curry. Masala dosa was really blant. It seemed that potato masala in dosa was only boiled and mashed with no other spices added to it except for couple of nuts. Staff were hardworking but understaffed. It took almost 15 min to get samosa chat and additional 20 for dosa.

Use to be a regular, What a joke take away cartons are half the size but have went up in price. Won't be back

Absolutely loved it. Vegan friendly. The food, service, ambience everything is beyond perfect. We just loved it.

To expansive because when you buy any curry that is not com with rice or bread so you have too buy sprite rice or bread which is quite expensive $32 God curry and $6 to $8 for small bread .....

Amazing Food (best dhosa in town), Great Customer service, staffs were very Customer focused and food came with minimal wait. Really Appreciated !! Definately Recommended !!
