I'm an Italian from Philly, my hoagie standards are high. I got an Italian hoagie 1) the bread was not soft super thick and did noting for the sandwich 2) not much meat on these things either 3) but the worst was the hot peppers I found 3 stems in the sandwich - which leads me to believe that there's poor attention to detail here. With that said there's room for improvement ...

The reviews made it sound like the subs were awesome. I was disappointed with mine though. It was ok, but the meat to fillers to bun ratios are off. It could have used a few more slices of meat. Pot belly makes a better sub.

Wao! This place is AMAZING! Normally I don't bother to write reviews unless it is a horrible experience, but this little restaurant deserves the highest rating. They just opened not so long ago at the Mosaic District and this was my 7th visit to them. The restaurant itself is not big but it is beautifully decorated so it gives you a feeling that you are indeed in Italy. Their pizza is one of the best in the area but I also enjoyed their pastas and sandwiches plus you can purchase a few authentic Italian wines, pasta, spices etc. to take home and be your own chef. They have a very nice outdoor seating as well where you can enjoy your meal while listening to evergreen Italian songs playing. I highly recommend everyone tries this place but I also have to warn you that once you try it it is addictive!

This was my 1st time ordering from The Italian Place through Uber Eats. Sad to say my 1st experience was not a good one. My Meat Lovers Pizza was delivered in a box that came apart and had Black smeared markings on top of the box that the Uber Eats driver handed to me. With all that is going with Covid-19 as well as being safe when handling food. The box should been taped on all sides and placed in a The Italian Place bag to protect my pizza from any elements. In the way my pizza was delivered I didn't feel safe eating. And the Chocolate Chip cookie that is stated on the Italian Place menu as Baked Fresh everyday was not fresh. It was hard and has a stale taste, not worth the money I paid. I truly feel I was ripped off in more was then one, was of money, time and I still haven't eaten dinner because I writing this review. I can not recommend this place to anyone. I had high hopes being my 1st time ordering The Italian Place.

Update; after the review they replied asking email them but, NO Response from them again. Pros: They’re fast, & they have a nice sitting area on the right of the store. Cons: The veggie pizza is too cheesy like cheese pizza( we didn’t like it at all). They, I guess, make Groupon customers’ pizza in a different and cheap condition. The phone call responses are not clear and the background is too noisy,

Hit or miss depending on who is working. There seems to be a communication problem with ordering here. Two times we have asked on our veggie pizza order for NO artichokes and to please add olives instead. Another time, please olives in lieu of artichokes. We go to pick up our pizza, get to the car and our destination and ARTICHOKES!!!! This past Friday, the pizza had artichokes with a note on the two pizza boxes that said “Olives no Artichokes” we were like WT? it also had no cheese……I am serious!!!!!!! Bread, sauce and little bit of veggies. I am no fan of returning food as I don’t trust people but PLEASE check your order before you walk away. Sometimes the pizza IS amazing, but I think we have to find another pizza spot as to not have to keep our fingers crossed when we order.

Went here looking for a good Italian sandwich and that's what I found. The staff at the front were great. I ordered the Giorgio and it was a well put together sandwich with a good bread to meat ratio. I appreciate a harder roll for my sandwiches and the roll here was a little on the softer side bit still good and the roll held up to the sandwich. I will definitely come back.

Never again. I have yet to receive a correct order from this place and I have tried it several times. Today I ordered a pepperoni pizza and meatball sub with extra meatballs for delivery. About an hour and a half later I received a cold cheese pizza that looked and tasted like school cafeteria pizza. The meatball sub was also cold and did not have extra meatballs. If you’re going to make bad food at least try to get the order correct and give me what I paid for.

Update: The owners immediately responded to my review below and provided a solution to rectify the situation. I appreciate their rapid response. I have changed my rating from 2 to 5 stars to reflect their customer service and much tastier sub. New pics posted! Old review: After coming here for years I'm afraid to say wait until the pandemic is over to enjoy a sub here again :-( I ordered my usual Giorgio and was shocked and appalled to taste what seemed to be stale bread or a change in bread manufacturer. The bread was dry, powdery, and lacked the authenticity of loaf bread with a crusty top and a spongy chewy middle. It was nothing like what I usually get. I immediately call the store to find out why this didn't taste like my usual. I asked if the bread manufacturer had been changed and was told since the pandemic they now had two types of bread. When I asked if they had the other type of bread in store so that I could easily just swap out my sandwich I was told that that was not in stock that day either. I waited for a solution either in the form of a refund or via store credit but that never happened either. In a pandemic I'm not going to go back and ask for $12 refund as I understand we are all hiring economically, but the customer service seemed to be lacking and I'm afraid to say I can't come back here and pay $12 for a sandwich on stale, white, powdery bread that I can get at any local bakery. It's hard to see what I'm talking about in photos but for those who frequent this place you know that this is not the usual.

Ford a quick sub. I would say it is ok. Doesn't have that this was awesome I want to come back. Like some other sandwich places. The most annoying thing is the kiosk. The kiosk sits in direct sunlight. Tried to cove parts to see. This long number popped up after paying and then disappeared quickly. So no clue what the number was. No receipt got printed. When the person in side yelled out the number. Asking what is the sandwich was the only way to figure out if it was mine or someone else's. Watching some others I wasn't the only one having this issue.

I heard good things about this place! I’m so disappointed ☹️. What’s it the pic you ask?! It’s Eggplant Parm. So not only was the eggplant put on the BOTTOM of noodles and watery sauce, it was mushy and grey and legit disintegrated when I tried to pick it up. I’m not going back.

Only did 3 stars due to pizza presentation. Appears to have been made in a hurry/ just thrown together. I was the only customer at that time so there should not have been no rush in making it. Staff was friendly & helpful. Will say the pizza was ok. At this moment can't say if I would be back.

Even though this is mainly a take out place, there are a couple seats on the outdoor patio to enjoy the weather. Music was played outdoors and set a joyful mood. Food was excellent! We enjoyed the spaghetti marinara, garlic bread, minestrone soup, and more. Everything was hot, tasty, and we’d go there again. Enjoy!

The staff were nice, the seating outdoors was pleasant, but I would rank their spaghetti and meatballs below store-bought dried and jarred spaghetti and sauce. Also, I was charged more than the advertised price (charged $12.99/plate; menu states $10.99/plate for regular size). The fraud aside, the food wasn't good enough to come back.

Do not waste your money here. We tried twice to give them the benefit of the doubt but it was terrible both times. We ordered paninis and it was a grilled sub roll.. the chicken cutlet was thick and soggy not crispy. The whole sandwich was soggy. Very disappointing.

Really excellent pizza & sandwiches! We've never had food from there that we didn't enjoy. Nice patio w/tables, but no inside dining room.
