Recomendo vivamente a hospedagem no Solar da Castanha. Espaço extremamente confortável, tanto nos quartos como nas áreas comuns. Fomos recebidos e acolhidos pelo Sr. Alberto e pela D. Ilda e, honestamente, não existem palavras para descrever toda a atenção que é dada aos hóspedes. Pequeno almoço personalizado e com direito a uma bonita vista para a natureza envolvente. Sentimo-nos em casa e voltaremos seguramente mais vezes.

Really lovely, cosy place!! The architect and interior decorator have done an amazing job. Elles and I wished we could have stayed longer. Pedro, his parents and Marta are very hospitable and friendly. They made us feel very much at home right from the start.

Great place to stay and wonderful hosts. It is located outside of town and very peaceful. Will definitely stay here again next time!

Nice and quiet house located on the outskirt of Manteigas. The house used to be a stay for forest rangers that were employed by the government to maintain and protect nature, hence the house has such a great view over the valley. This was definitely one of the more romantic stays we had in Portugal. The host was very helpful and friendly and explained some options for activities and restaurants in the area. We took the advise to take the glacier route out of the area and really enjoyed the remnants of the glacier.

We had a excellent experience here. Everything was perfect, from the house which has only 3 rooms at a time to the breakfast. Everything is perfect, the location is great, altought you always have to rent a car to have a full experience in Serra da Estrela. We will come back for sure. Carla and Pedro are people, very nice and welcome. Also, we travel with our son of 5y and they some board games that he.loved to play. Thanhs for everything

Beautiful house, beautiful view, many hiking trails around, Pedro and Carla are super nice and welcoming. The house is brand new and beautifully designed.
