Loved this place. It's very clean and well maintained. There is continuous cool breeze even in hot summer. The views are beautiful and roads are excellent as well. There are some view points while going on roads. It's good to visit on weekdays when there is less crowd. The tickets cost you rupees 10 per person (above 11 years). There will be nominal extra charge for digital camera and video camera of rupees 15 and 25 respectively. It is necessary to carry any of your government id. One person id per vehicle will suffice.

Mesmerizing place on the top of Hill How to reach: From RK beach it's 18km and from Busstand 13km. Direct root from main busttand towards Navy ducks. Google maps shows correct direction. Main entrance way is restricted due to security issue. You have to take the route from Srihari puram road. Time to visit:. This location good to visit all the days in the year. But timings are 9am to 11am and 3pm to 5pm for entry. Places to see: Large places with good greenary and play ground. Sea view from the lighthouse is awesome. U need to buy a ticket for entry cost.10rupees. Lighthouse entry is easy during weekdays and rush during weekends. Need to wait 20min to stairs the top of light house. Can see Large ships and sea view from Finishing herber.. Fecilities: Parking available for 2 & 4 wheelers. Toilets and rest area available. Final words: Must visit place in Vizag

A lighthouse on this hill guided ships to enter Visakhapatnam Port. The lighthouse currently uses 7 million candle power that covers up to a distance of 64 kilometers. Before independence, the British Army used it as a Military Camp.Dolphin's Nose is a hill in Visakhapatnam between Yarada and Gangavaram Port. The hill is named Dolphin's Nose because it resembles a dolphin's nose. It is a conspicuous land mark in Visakhapatnam. Dolphin's nose is a huge rocky head land which is 174 meters high and 358 meters above sea level. The powerful beacon of the light house set on this rock at sea directs ships 65 km away.

If you’re ready to walk an extra mile to witness the fantastic views of the ports, beaches and the entire city, there is no place better than Dolphin’s Nose LightHouse. Nestled on the east coast of India, Dolphin’s Nose LightHouse is one such place that gives you an opportunity to overlook once in a lifetime view that is hard to describe in words. TIMING 3:00 PM to 5PM (Everyday) Entry Fee 10 per person for Indians 25 per person for Foreigners 3 per person for Children (3-11 years) 20 for Still Camera 25 for Video Camera

One of the most beautiful places of Vizag, Dolphins Nose is a natural wonder. It is one of the most sought after tourist spots in town. Clearly visible from all parts of the city, Dolphins Nose derives it’s name from it’s distinctive shape. While Dolphins Nose is clearly visible to all, not much about it is known. Here are some mind blowing facts about it that you should know. The lighthouse that is situated on Dolphins nose was built in the mid 1960s. There was an even older one at the very spot which did not survive the 1874 cyclone. It was constructed in 19th century and estimates say 1860. Traces of the old lighthouse remain still and can be seen in remnants of the basement. A famous naval battle has been fought by the foothill of Dolphins nose. It was fought between the French and the British in the year 1804. The current light house helps to track cyclones from the Dolphin Nose hill top. It carries the necessary equipment Words of the locals carry that a school of Dolphins is often sighted there. But whether true or not is not proved. Romantic theories surround the appearance and dis-appearance  of the dolphins. Dolphins Nose also goes by the name of ‘Yarada Konda’. The fishing village by the same name and nestled by the hill is a must visit. It is the only channel in the world that has multiple religious shrines guarding safe naval passage. The temple atop Dolphins Nose is the Sagar Matha temple. There is also the 700 year old Ishaq Medina Dargah there. Sailors and navy men seek blessing of both while entering and exiting harbor. For one to go to Dolphins Nose from the city, there is only a circuitous route. Much earlier it was not so. Vizag city was connected to the hill by a strip of beach land. That is no more

Nice place. Clean and green area. View is awesome. Opens up to 5 PM. It is a naval base area. Security is very tight. You can go by city bus or personal vehicle, auto and rental vehicle are not allowed. If you are going by bus,you have to walk 1.7 km. From Scindia bus stand the city bis run to light house.

Nice light house which gives entire view of Vishakapatnam. Need to be careful during holidays as narrow road and parking issue. It closes at 5 p.m.

A place in Visakhapatnam where you can get a 300° plus panoramic view of the Visakhapatnam coast. The panoramic view is really beautiful and breathtaking. The place is a bit hard to reach as it's almost 20kms away from the mainland.and the route consists of a ride to the top of a hill with hair pin bends. But it's really worth the trouble. Best is to go on a 2 wheeler. You can get RTC bus from R.K Beach as well. Ask for a bus that goes to Yarada beach and you can reach this place. Best time to visit is during August - December, but it's open during the entire year. The place is open to public between 15:00-17:00 hrs. Please carry an id card on your person at all times as this is a restricted area and is under the control of Naval command. The entry ticket is Rs.10. Please carry cash. This is a plastic free zone, so don't bring any plastic items and even if you bring, please keep it in your bags. Travel enthusiasts will have a quality time as they'll get beautiful shots here. Please do visit this place. It's a must visit and will last an impression in your hearts for ever.

A worthy place and the best tourist place of the entire Vizag city. You can view the whole Vizag city from the top. It's an amazing feeling. The surrounding area is neat and clean. It's on the fourth floor. It's a protected area. You must have the ID card handy with yourself before visiting this place. Entry fees is Rs. 10. You have to put off your shoes before entering the light house. Toilets are there. Visiting hours is from 3pm to 5pm every day. One must not miss if you're in Vizag. Just outside the light house, you will get little shops for some tea, snacks.

My visit to the Light House in Vishakapatnam was a highlight of my trip. The lighthouse is an iconic landmark that offers stunning views of the city and the Bay of Bengal. The climb to the top of the lighthouse was an experience in itself. The spiral staircase was narrow and steep, but the views from the top were absolutely worth the effort. We were able to see for miles in every direction, with panoramic views of the city, the harbor, and the sea. The lighthouse itself is also a fascinating piece of history. The guides provided informative commentary on the history and operation of the lighthouse, including the technology used to light the tower and guide ships to safety. One of the best things about the Light House was the peaceful and serene atmosphere. Despite being located in the heart of the city, the lighthouse offered a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the streets below. We were able to relax and take in the breathtaking views in a tranquil and serene setting. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Light House in Vishakapatnam. It's a unique and fascinating attraction that offers breathtaking views and an opportunity to learn about the history of lighthouses and their role in guiding ships to safety. Whether you're a history buff or simply looking for a peaceful and scenic escape, the Light House is definitely worth a visit.

The "Dolphin's Nose Lighthouse"... This place is located near dolphin hills, which is on the way to Yarada beach... The place is so calm and beautiful... It will be more beautiful during sunrise and sunset but we cannot visit here during sunrise, because this place is maintained by the Indian Navy and the rules are also stirct... So this place can only be accessible from 3 PM to 5 PM for visitors... And you have to carry any type of identity card to visit this place... There is a Naval Security Checkpost where you have to submit you identity card and only then you will be allowed inside... One identity card can be submitted for N number of persons... So that is not much of a problem... And coming to place, sometimes it is highly croweded... You have wait in a line to go to the top of the LightHouse... Parking is also available here... And also there is an entrance ticket of 10Rs/- per person to visit here... This will be like a one time visit... Because there nothing much to see here... Only the scenery and the view from the top of the LightHouse are heartwarming... Please do go there in time or else you will not be allowed near the Checkpost... And that's a wrap... Have a great day...😀😀😀

Naval police are not allowing the visitors to this place (don't know whether it is temporary) when we were going through the port road/scindia road. They stopped us at start of the dolphin hill, didn't allow further. I think there's another route to reach dolphin hill. One must better confirm the route and entry access before planning to visit this place. Can't blindly follow Google.

We visited Dolphin's Nose Lighthouse on Monday. There was no rush. It is a beautiful place from where we can have a nice view of the city, sea and port entrance. We spent nearly 45 minutes and men in charge of the light house explained the working of the light house which was very informative. The staff at the entrance and ticket counter were very courteous. Visitors are allowed between 3 pm to 5 pm and they should carry some identity card. Overall it was good experience and happiness.

Good place to visit. The air is fresh. To take a break from your busy schedule this will be one of my recommendation. The stairs are steep, so people with fear of heights and claustrobia shouldn't visit the place. You might feel suffocated.

To reach the dolphin nose just set your Google map for malkapuram Police station after reaching there again set your Google map to yarada beach, the dolphin nose is on the way. If you set your Google map for reaching dolphin nose it will take you to the dolphin nose mountain gate that is guarded by Indian navy where civilians are not allowed so there is a other way round for the civillians on the way to yarada beach. The route to the dolphin nose light house is very beautiful hilly climb, just explore it and enjoy the view of that place. Currently dolphin nose light house is closed due to Covid but still you can go to yarada beach and enjoy the beauty of the place.

The lighthouse offers a very wide view of the Sea and is of course the station for the gigantic light which sends signals. It opens at 3, so It is suggested that you visit early, before it gets too crowded. Since there is one way up and down, the handover gets a little too messy. The ticket entry costs 10 INR Per Adult. Its an exquisite location for viewing the sea and the Port.

A well security occupied area by the naval base. Before entering you have to submit your details like your name and id proofs along with your vehicle no. You can see the view of the city from here. You have to climb up so many stairs which maybe challenging but you can see the light house and its mechanisms. The view of nose house is outstanding.

Very similar to a dolphins nose, this 174 m high rocky headland is situated in the south of Vizag. The nose seems to be protruding out towards the Bay of Bengal giving it a rather fascinating look. A renowned powerful light house highly useful for the shippers and has a light beam that can be seen as far as 64 km out at sea is also placed nearby. There is also a hill nearby named the Dolphin hill and is a restricted Armed forces residential area. The backside of the hill has a scenic, beautifully placed, secluded beach called yarada. Awesome view from the light house. Don't go through Scindia-Dolphin hill road as it is restricted area, exclusively for Navy. Please follow bus route no 16 to Yarada, take diversion from opposite of Malkapuram police station which will finally leads to Yarada junction from where you take left for Light 🏠 or go straight to Yarada beach. # no dedicated parking, gets crowded for parking sometimes. # camera 📷 chargeable. # no food stalls. # washroom available, not well maintained, better to avoid. # have to climb lot of steps to reach top of the light house 🏠, troublesome to elder, kiddos and visitors with joint pain or similar kinds of problems. # Timing 3pm to 5pm. Currently not sure if changed. # Better to add Yarada beach 🏖️ as it is enroute.

A place one must visit in Vizag tour. This place has a wonderf view of the sea, the port, and the city all togather. One have to reserve an auto or private car to go here, and they have a very nominal entry fee. it is closed for tourists due to corona, and authorities were clueless when they were asked about its reopening, and google maps direction on this one is not trustworthy, better to ask locals for direction of the light house.

The Lighthouse is a very old one . Entry fee is Rs. 10. It's under the navy here in Vizag. Narrow stairs will take you to the top. It's not very high but the view and the feeling here is excellent.

You can reach the top either from Scindia side or from Gantyada side whichever is more feasible. There will be some mandatory checking at the entrance by the naval people. Entrance ticket is Rs.10/- per head. The roads are neatly maintanined(Of course, its naval area). You get a beautiful view of the Visakhapatnam shipyard and the yarada beach from the top of the light house. Worth visiting.

It's the best place to visit in Vizag. The beauty of nature just mesmerize you and will definitely don't want to come back especially when you go up in light house. Also you got the chance to see the filament of light that is powerful enough to be seen from a distance of 50 KM. Best time to vist is around 4:30 pm as it's opening time is 3 pm to 5 pm only

Situated at a distance of 8km from the Queen of Hills, Dolphin’s Nose Kodaikanal is something you should never miss on. With an altitude of 6600 feet, the Dolphin’s Nose offers enthralling views of the entire city. Rugged terrains, clear skies, plunged valleys, and the splendour of lush green surroundings is what sums up the beauty of Dolphin’s Nose.

A wonderful place few kms away from Vishakhapatnam town. You can get a mesmerizing birdeye view of the ocean along with the port. The area is extremely tidy and under the control of the Navy. Every tourist needs to produce identity card at the check point before entering the light house. It closes at 5pm.

Dolphin's Nose is a hill in Visakhapatnam between Yarada and Gangavaram Port. The hill is named Dolphin's Nose because it resembles a dolphin's nose.[1] It is a conspicuous land mark in Visakhapatnam. Dolphin's nose is a huge rocky head land which is 174 meters high and 358 meters above sea level. The powerful beacon of the light house set on this rock at sea directs ships 65 km away.[2] Before independence, the British Army used it as a Military Camp. There is a Hindu Temple, a Church, and a Mosque on a nearby hill. In 1804 British and French forces fought the Battle of Vizagapatam near this hill.[3]

It was really an amazing view from the top ... You have to wait in line if there's more crowd and even you can't experience the view and nature with too much crowd so I recommend going there when there will be less people ... Note that Climbing up the strains will be difficult to elders

👍 Scenic quite and mesmerising. An offbeat beach with little to no crowd. Only locals rome around. Have to walk a little but worth it. Can climb a small hillock also by the side. Atmosphere is amazing, especially if rainy or cloudy weather. View is best from top. Can consider for camping too.
