With all the changes that were made for more space around the temple, gives more spacious look and some breathing space. Only wish that the temple administration had some prominent place for kumkum. It is really painful to see people in western dresses for a place of workship. Should have a rule for traditional attire getting preference.

One of the best temples dedicated to lord Narasimha. It's on the hill top. U can opt for the bus , private cab, autos and even personal bikes to the temple. The premise is very neat and clean. They have free darshan, 100 rupees tickets and 300 rupees tickets for the ease of devotees.

A beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Narsimha which is situated at the hilltop. It's pretty easily accessible both by public and private transportation! Make sure you buy the 100rs ticket in order to skip the long que and enter into the temple premises in a much faster and better way. Once you're out the samosas are something which are a must try!

Originally known as Varaha Lakshmi Narsimha Temple, Simhachalam Temple is a famous shrine that offers holy and mystical vibes to the devotees of Lord Narsimha and has an exceptionally calm atmosphere to attract tourists from all around the world. Dedicated to the Hindu community, the Simhachalam Temple boasts of an excellent hilltop location with lush greenery all around the place. One of the popular tourist places to visit in Visakhapatnam, the temple holds much importance among the locals for its strong traditional values and follows a detailed prayer routine for all days of the year. The magical environment allows you to forget everything as soon as you step inside the temple and the backdrop of the beautiful landscapes makes the overall setting look even more amazing. Here you can also enjoy a spectacular view from a height of 800 meters above the sea level along with offering your prayers to Lord Narsimha, who is believed to be another form of Lord Vishnu. This place is widely recognized for its rich significance of history and is undoubtedly a must-visit attraction for holidaymakers of all ages.

We bought VIP tickets worth 300 rupees each due to time constraints in our trip. So it was worth the money to skip the long queue. It's a good thing that they offer lift services for senior citizens. However, don't forget that they will keep your mobile phones in the locker before you enter for darshan. Overall, the monument and the design of the temple was enthralling and the minute details were worth observing.

The Simhachalam temple is a divine sanctuary nestled in the hills, exuding a sense of spiritual tranquility. The intricate architecture and vibrant surroundings create a serene atmosphere, making it a must-visit for those seeking solace. The sanctum sanctorum's energy and the awe-inspiring Narasimha Swamy deity instill a deep sense of reverence. The temple's well-maintained premises and the harmonious chants during rituals contribute to a truly enriching experience.

Simhachalam is the best to to enlighten your inner peace. It’s the best place to visit in Andhra Pradesh. Situated above the mountains makes the place very beautiful and stunning. It’s my personal opinion that god is available to everyone and everywhere, so the charges for the people to visit the temple for ₹100/- & ₹300/- should be abolished and make other suitable arrangements for people to visit the temple. Loved the architecture and the open space which this area has. Temple rules were also good to avoid rush and. In every 5mins one can get bus to go up and down the hill, so nothing to worry about this part. All facilities are there for footwear, mobile phone deposits as well as Prashad. The surrounding is also so beautiful full of flowers and plants, we visited in March.

I was spellbound by the experience of visiting this temple. It's a must visit temple, one to experience. Buying a Rs 300 ticket will lead you directly into the sanctum sanctorum which other darshan modes won't allow. One can get the darshan of the deity from upfront as would one be able to do the pradakshina. Overall a powerful place well managed and must visit temple.

Temple architecture is so great. You'll find peace inside the temple. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple premises. There are two ways to enter the temple: 1. Free Entry: Usually takes time due to long queues. 2. Paid Entry: it takes very less time. The ticket Fee is 100 rupees. The fragrance of camphor enchants the entire temple complex. I found the prasad here to be like nectar. All arrangements have been made for the convenience of the visitors. Words are falling short to praise this place. Please do visit this temple on coming to vishakapatnam.

Also known as Simhachalam Temple. Coming to Vizag and visiting this temple is a must. The deity here is Vishnu in a different avatar. The shoe stall and baggage stall are separate but in the same place. Mobile needs to be deposited separately. All are chargeable. There is a free darshan line as well as with 100 ₹and 300 ₹. The parking lot is big enough. A help centre and information centre is also available. Prasadam counters are also available in a separate area. Overall an awesome experience to come here and get darshan of Lord Narasimhan 🙏🏻 Check the timings before you visit here.

Temple of lord Vishnu situated on Simhanchal Hilltop.A must visit location of vizag. The temple is properly managed by government authorities. They provide various services like 3 types of Darsan, Mundan,Prashad Counter,Hilltop lodging for tourists etc. Highly recommend to visit if you ever come to vizag. One think makeup your mindset that it will take 3+ hrs to complete visit. Do not visit on weekends or Saturdays very crowded

The best temple in vizag, temple is located on top of the hill. Winter is the best time to visit, the road drive towards the temple is heaven. Enough parking facility is available. Mostly crowded on weekends and the waiting queue line is very long hence we took a special darshana pass to go inside fast. Pongal pulihara prasatham will be given for visitors. After dharishanan you will get metal peace and calm. There are few good veg restaurants available near to temple. Kids will enjoy this temple and must visit place for grand parents also. #Localguides 📍 #guidingstars ⭐ #Guiding_people_to_right_place

The temple is located on the hill..one has to buy tickets of the bus which will then take you up to the temple's premises..then there are two different queue system i.e. free and one paid special darshan.. though some snacks is available to eat to survive in the long queue.. The deity was covered with sandalwood paste 🙏🏻 ...divine god. Also prasad is available there named as pollihara for which one have to wait for atleast one hour long queue.. But Anna prasadam facility is not continuing on there due to covid norms. A worthit spiritual experience..the temple boosts inner Spirit positively.

Before entering into temple for Darshan, you have to deposit your mobile, shoes & luggages.

Locally known as Simhachalam temple. 30 minutes drive from Vizag city. It also has a train station nearby. Buses connect to this place. No need to walk a lot to reach the temple. There are paid and free queues are available . Recommended to be in the paid queue to reach near the deity. The cost was 300 in the month of September of 2023. Don't expect too much, but it's a nice place to visit.

Devotional place , better go for 100 ra ticket , unnecessary delay will be credited for free darshan. Pulihira taste is compromised these days, mobiles are not allowed and the clock room is near to bike parking place, a medium risky ghat road is there so careful while going in own vehicle

Went on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was less crowded. You'll have to submit your phones and shoes outside of the temple. Can get bus from RTC Complex to the temple for 55 rupees only. Buses are available all the time. It took me an hour to get the free darshan. You can opt for 100-300 rupees darshan if you're in a hurry. Prasad is given at the exit of the temple. You can buy ladoos and Prasads for 15 and 10 rupees each.

Visiting Simhachalam Temple was a truly enchanting experience. The positive vibes emanating from the sacred surroundings instantly put me at ease. The iconic beauty of the temple, with its unique blend of Orissan and Chalukyan architecture, left me awe-inspired. What added to the magic of the visit was the mesmerizing folk dance performance, enhancing the temple's aura. The cultural touch added a vibrant and spiritual dimension to the entire experience, making it more than just a pilgrimage. The serenity and divine energy of the temple, coupled with the captivating folk dance, created a memorable atmosphere that I will cherish. Highly recommend this spiritual haven for anyone seeking a blend of tranquility and cultural richness.

Om namo laksmi varaha narasimha, one of Lord Sri Vishnu incarnation. A very beautiful and big temple in Andhrapradesh. Now a days management administered well to develop the temple in comparable to other temples. Huge crowds are visiting temple daily and specially on Saturdays and Sundays. The great Vijayanagara kings developed a lot this temple in ancient times and later by Sri Krishna devaraya donated lands, jewellery and gifts. Every Hindu has to visit and have a good darshan of swami. Nija roopa darshan is one of the event conducted here specially every year. A special event, every one must come and see that.

It is dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped there as Varaha Narasimha. Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Simhachalam is a Hindu temple situated on the Simhachalam Hill Range, which is 300 metres above the sea level in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped there as Varaha Narasimha. As per the temple's legend, Vishnu manifested in this form (lion's head and human body) after saving his devotee Prahlada from a murder attempt by the latter's father Hiranyakashipu. Except on Akshaya Trutiya, the idol of Varaha Narasimha is covered with sandalwood paste throughout the year, which makes it resemble a linga. Simhachalam is one of the 32 Narasimha temples in Andhra Pradesh which are important pilgrimage centres. It was regarded as an important centre of Vaishnavism in the medieval period along with Srikurmam and others. The earliest inscription at the temple belongs to 11th-century CE recording the gift by a private individual in the era of Chalukya Chola king Kulottunga I. In the later half of the 13th century, the temple complex underwent radical physical changes during the reign of the Eastern Ganga king Narasimhadeva I. Narahari Tirtha, a Dvaita philosopher and Eastern Ganga minister converted the Simhachalam temple into an educational establishment of renown and a religious centre for Vaishnavism. It later received patronage from many royal families, of which Tuluva dynasty of Vijayanagara Empire is a notable one. The temple underwent 40 years of religious inactivity from 1564 to 1604 CE. In 1949, the temple came under the purview of the state government and is currently administered by the Simhachalam Devasthanam Board. Simhachalam temple resembles a fortress from outside with three outer courtyards and five gateways. The architecture is a mixture of the styles of the Kalinga Architecture, Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, and the Cholas. The temple faces west instead of east, signifying victory. There are two temple tanks: Swami Pushkarini near the temple and Gangadhara at the bottom of the hill. The temple houses a number of sub-shrines and a few mandapams. The religious practices and customs of the temple are formulated by the Vaishnavite philosopher Ramanuja. They are modelled based on the Satvata Samhita, one of the 108 texts of the Pancharatra Agama. Simhachalam is the second-largest temple, after Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh, in terms of income early Devotees believe that the deity is capable of giving progeny to women and fulfilling the wishes of devotees. Kalyanotsava and Chandanotsava are the two major festivals celebrated in the temple, followed by Narasimha Jayanti, Navaratrotsava and Kamadahana. The festivals celebrated in Simhachalam influence the Dravida Sampradaya. Apart from those by well-known poets, the temple is found in many literary references and lyrical works (dedicated by anonymous writers), which are preserved in the Government Oriental Manuscripts Library, Chennai.

Tickets are available (Sri Devi Complex) in beside of the complex of Simhachalam Bus stand, and we can carry mobile phone with us. If you entered in the temple then take 200/- Rs ticket for Garbhalayam, these tickets are available in beside of Garbhalayam. For this ticket 2 laddus or free, after Darshanam we have to collect prasadam counter directly. Here the problem is only two prasadam counters, so patience is more important to get prasadam. The temple is over crowded. No social distancing is maintained, most people weren't even wearing masks. It's situated atop a beautiful hill with a nice view, but the temple itself is small, after waiting in line for 30 minutes, we got to see the inside of the temple for all of 2 minutes. There's not even enough time to view the temples architecture since you're ushered out with the crowd. You also have to deposit your bag, mobiles and shoes at different counters before entering.

  • 5/5 Love E. 2 years ago on Google
The old architecture is very beautiful both outside and inside the temple... there will be so much peace inside the temple that it is impossible to describe it in words..

  • 5/5 Reddi Surya P. 2 years ago on Google
Temple maintenance is perfect. And taking covid-19 precautions. Only allowed persons with facemask. And people's not too crowded.

🙏 One of the great devotional places near to vizag and we will always feel relaxed there , but i suggest not go there at weekends if possible due to enormous crowd on those days or go very early so that you can avoid crowd.

  • 5/5 Swaminathan S. 2 years ago on Google

Must visit place in vizag! Great viewpoints for pictures while going to the temple. No electronics & bags are allowed in the temple. 300 rupees each for special darshan(recommended).

  • 5/5 A.Karthik Reddy A. 1 year ago on Google
There are options for the free darshan, 100 rupees darshan and the 300 rupees darshan. You can choose the convenient darshan according to you. The temple is always crowded with devotees, so it is suggested to start as early as possible to avoid late darshan.

Devine and holy place for pilgrims. Very much organised and well maintained locality. The queue line is controlled by temple staff and all are polite. The temple is crowded on Saturdays and on festival days. Remaining days it's a normal flow of devotees. Free dharshan takes hours together to walk through the temple and there are special queue lines with additional fee of Rs. 100/- and Rs. 300/-. Parking space is available but it's a paid parking. No need to purchase coconut or garland. Those are not taking in the temple. Be aware of local vendors, they make you buy all the things which are not allowed into the temple.

Best place for devotees. Inner peace calmness those enchanting fragrances will make you fall in for the place. One of the tourist attractions in Vizag and people visit the place often. The temple remains crowded because of its popularity . Narishma God is prayed over here. Security and well maintained gates are there. Everything is systematic, no breaking of que no breaking of rule everything in discipline manner. We went to the place by wearing a traditional outfit and Pandits treated us very generously. One of the best places on our college trip.

A special place for Vishu Devotees. The main idol is covered in Sandal for whole year and only in the month of April it is for special darshan. You can preferably take 100/- darshan ticket for immediate darshan. The temple architecture indeed a historic one and such special place dedicated for Lord Narasimha is special regarded.

Very disciplined atmosphere. The priests were very honest in their work. They don’t demand anything from devotees in the name of God. The atmosphere is very neat and clean. I have visited in the evening. Aarati darshan tcicket is available for Rs.200 /person. You can watch the while aarti program done closely. You can have a Clam and peaceful prayer.

It was a fabulous journey to the temple and we took 100rs/head tickets where it will lead to the same line for free dharshan and ticket dharshan. Maintenance needs to be changed other than that it is fine. Very pleasant Nature and surroundings. Peaceful nature 😍.

One of the most historical temples in the country. Varahalakshmi narasimha swamy temple was the combined resemblance of the 3rd and 4th avathar of lord vishnu accompanied by goddess lakshmidevi alongside . It's the most auspicious temple in the visakhapatnam. The main temple will be located on the top of the simhachala Hill along with many other temples on the way. One of the oldest and most significant temples across the indian subcontinent, so please try to visit. Many articrafts and handicrafts are also available on the hill, along with food and beverages. A spiritual place where Sri Maha Vishnu was worshipped as Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. Through out the year the main God (MulaVirat) was covered up with sandal wood paste (chandanam). Only one day in a year we can have Nija Rupa Darsanam on Akshaya Tritiya.

  • 5/5 kundan K. 4 months ago on Google
The temple, situated on simhachalam has a historical epic. It is believed to be the heavenly abode place of one of Vishnu's avtar Narasimha Swami (lion headed human body god). As per the temple's legend, Vishnu manifested in this form (lion's head and human body) for saving his devotee Prahlada from a murder attempt by the latter's father Hiranyakashipu and also to break his curse of being a demon. Except on Akshaya Trutiya, the idol of Varaha Narasimha is covered with sandalwood paste throughout the year, which makes it resemble a linga. People visit to worship and to enjoy the granite sculptures displaying the history
