A more than 100 year old church on the hill top. One can reach up via steps and paved roads. The view was good in the early morning and evening. The place is too clean and maintained well. Do carry an umbrella for the day time as there are less shady area. You can also see some Navy ships from here. The hilltop has dedicated parking space for 10-15 cars.

This Church is of Catholic faith but everyone should pay a visit for its scenic location, peaceful environment and is one of the oldest churches in visakhapatnam. It is situated on top of a hill..You can drive a car or bike up the hill on a sloped entry. If you want to walk, there are steps as well. The main attraction of this locality is The Church, Mosque and Temple are located within 100m apart from eachother. A peaceful and delightful place with good view of the industries and port.Situated in the industrial area and at the outskirts of the city. The church is frequently visited by photographers and nature lovers especially to view the beautiful sunrises and sunsets across the port and water crane area of the fishing yard.

The hill on which the church stands derives its name from a local Judge, Monsieur Ross who is known to have built a house on top of it. Two years hence, Bishop Msgr J. M. Tissot occupied the bungalow and in 1867, an altar was erected and a chapel was constructed by the Vicar General Fr. Richard. Natural calamities brought unfortunate destruction to the church compelling the reinstallation of a new statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in 1877. April 1942 witnessed Japanese raid over Visakhapatnam during which Bishop Roussillon took a vow to take his people under the protection made available at Ross Hill Chapel. Magically, there were no more raids over the city any longer. 10th February 1946 witnessed the first Thanksgiving Procession. This has become a very important aspect in the lives of the people living in Vizag and it makes it an event to lookout for. The church is almost a hundred years old.

Ross Hill church offers amazing views of sea and the city both at night as well as in daylight. One can watch big ships very closely and the city lights sparkling bright at night. The church itself is very old and well maintained. It has no entry fee and parking for 2 as well as 4 wheelers is available at the top of the hill. One can also climb up steep stairs to church from downhill.

Ross Hill Church welcomes you with open arms and the liberty to attain peace and tranquillity in whichever way you find suitable. It thrives on the fact that tourists like to rush to this location to achieve rejuvenation, relaxation and mental peace. One can enjoy panoramic view of the city and Port and witness one of the most beautiful sunrises or sunsets you could possibly imagine.

This church is situated 5-6km away from RK Beach, auto and local cars are available for rent. This place is worth a visit, you can have a full city and port viewpoint from this place, and it is so peaceful to be there. Also, dolphin nose points can be visible from this place if the weather gets clear.

Ross Hill Church is a beautiful church in Visakhapatnam. The church is about a hundred years old. The architecture of the Church is very beautiful. The view from the Ross hill is amazing. A must visit if you are in Vizag. This place is 3 km from RK Beach. Here you can see Hindu temples, Christian churches and Muslim mosques in one frame. You will also get a good view of the Harbour, beach and coal shifting from here.

I visited this place on Christmas day. It was quite eventful. There was a very beautiful Christian ceremony going on. The place is clean and well maintained. From the top, you can see inside the shipyard, it's a beautiful view. Connectivity: only private vehicles or reserved auto go to the top of the hill.

Rose Hill shrine located near the Port area of Visakhapatnam. Which is very sacred place for christians especially RCM. Views from the hill top are astonishing and so scenic. Prayer hall area is so vast and church design and building style so asthetic and non- chalant with peaceful atmosphere all around.

Lovely place in the midst of the busy City . It provides some spectacular view of town, sea , port all at same time . The church located here is 1904 built and it's very serene . Get inside and open your heart to Lord and be sure that he will listen . The hill is also famous for having all three Temple, Mosque and Church in Close proximity . One can view the temple and Mosque from the hill top . I visited with my family for 1st time this Christmas and it's a amazing experience . The drive on step road , the view , the breeze and holy joyful atmosphere . The place has ample sitting place and also makes it ideal for picnic . One can easily spend entire day here . It's beauty , nature and divinity amalgamation.

Less crowded surely a good place to visit. You can see the to view of port area. The place is maintained decently, and the architecture is good and old. Worth a visit, we can also get the sighting of naval houses from there.

Top of a small hill called Ross Hill. View is awesome, of the Port, the city and the hills around. The church is very peaceful and soothing. It's a little hard to get autos to go to the place and to come back had to wait and struggle for it as it's inside the Port area, the road to this place is very slow and harsh. No tickets needed.

Amazing place to visit along with your kids. View of shops docking and a brilliant view of the harbour. The church was serene and the mass was excellent. Bring your car up the hill but steps are a bit steep to walk down. Nice place to pray and spend time on a fine Sunday morning l

It is above the mountains. We went there on Sunday. Prayers were going on. From here, view point is also great. There are different statues of Jesus defining his life. Also there is a mosque aside of this church. U can see port, sea and other mountains from here. One of the must go place of vizag.

This is one best places in Visakhapatnam which one should visit. Ross hill gives you a view of the Visakhapatnam harbour. Big ships moving around. Also this hill is a mark of religious unity. As it has a church a mosque a temple all together.

Ross Hill is one of the oldest church in Visakhapatnam. Built in 1867. This is a Catholics church. Here they worship Mary Maa. This place is also famous for its location.. on a Hill Top. The view of the port channel, and beautiful view of Dolphin Nose hill is really awesome. If you truly love nature, this is the place to be in, you will findΒ beautyΒ everywhere & off course God also Actually the view of the port is blocked by the grown trees on the hill. Otherwise we can see the whole port from this hill.

This is one of the oldest church in vizag and you can observe a special thing in here which depicts secularism that is you can see hindu temple, mosque and church all three situated at the same place .... Yes they are built little bit far from each other (but not so much) and as the church is built on a mountain beside the shipyard you can almost have a vission about the kind of activities goes on in a ship yard, you can always see a huge cargo ship through which coal is unloaded and you can see the huge coal yards around the place which is supplied to steel plant through the India's largest conveyor belt can be see all though out the road to the church and something which is more interesting is you can see tug boats pulling the ships through the cannel to place it in the berth. Finally you can visit this place with your friends and family.

A peaceful and delightful place with good view of the industries and port alike. Situated in the industrial area and at the outskirts of the city makes it less visited place even though it has all the looks of a tourist place. One of the reason for not being that popular as it is seen as a religious site. Rest is upto you.

~~*Bookstore & He*~~ It was almost the time of sunset and the mass was going inside the Ross hill. It's kind of odd for the city focks whose half life spend in an eternal city rash. So it's almost evening the intensity of the setting sun is yet to bloom from my dusky face. As I can't control my inquisitiveness to see the beautiful place. The hills are entirely covered like lush evergreen trees, the reflection of magistic ships upon the surface of the port area, that blackness in the wind from the elongated charcoal belts just..... ..... ..just added more n more to that beautiful place. I didn't very much know about this place but I found this to-be-officer who was humble enough to take me a visit. He made me familiar to that place first n then to himself. I used to think i didn't know him but today I got to(a little) but enough to get lost while penning this event now( a satisfactory inquisitiveness i can't even pen ) _________dusky🀎 This is the poem i penned down after I first visit to this hidden seren of Visakhapatnam. I while symbolising GOD IS ONE it also present in front of you the view of this port city, you might have never seen before. Vizag'ican if you are done with visit Kailash giri then discover this side of the city now🌼
