Not much to say... some things are better when left unspoken... they are about feelings. Tribal Museum, Araku Velley is one such thing... infact, this is the sole reason why you should visit Araku ... Araku has nothing much except this and this is worth your money and time.

A good place to visit to understand the life in tribal culture. But this place is made with a focus on some adventurous activities, shopping (I could see a lot of Chinese products on sale along with local products) and spend some time with family.

**Review of Araku Valley: Haven ** Araku Valley is a hidden gem that exceeded my expectations. The lush green landscapes, cascading waterfalls, and the rich cultural experience made it a memorable trip. Katiki and Chaparai Waterfalls were breathtaking, offering a serene escape into nature. The culinary highlight was undoubtedly the Bamboo Chicken – a unique and flavorful dish that shouldn't be missed. The Tribal Museum provided valuable insights into the indigenous culture. Araku Valley's charm lies in its simplicity and the warmth of its people. I left with a sense of rejuvenation and a deep appreciation for this offbeat destination. Highly recommended for nature lovers and those seeking an authentic cultural experience.

Amazing tribal museum that depicts the culture around Araku valley. Must visit place, if you do not have any idea of the tribal culture. They have made some nice replicas of the culture and created entire show cases for the same. You can spend at least two hours or so, if you want to see things it. There is also a shopping place there to buy items that are more hand made.

Situated in the heart of Araku City, presenting life and workstyle of native tribal people in the region. Well maintained and decorated. Ethnic shops are available inside the museum premises with food stall, playgrounds and other events. Recommended for kids. Just for museum, 1 hour is enough.

It was quite devoid of people when we went there but it was a decent experience nonetheless. There were a lot of shops of spices, bags etc. The prices were as to be expected. It seemed to me that the rides there needed maintenance but seemed kind of okay i guess. The actual museum wasn't that big but had decent things inside it.

The Tribal Museum in Araku Valley showcases the rich tribal culture. There are some models of the Araku valley landscape in the museum. There is a seed museum, farm and household equipments and utensils museum, tribal ornaments museum, a photo museum of tribal traditions and way of life. There is a new museum that exhibits the tribal traditions and life style. The famous Dimsa dance is performed in the evenings. A few shops that sell souvenirs are also in the premises. Tribal museum the name itself hints us to know the lifes of hill tribes. Tribal life since their birth to death as the museum portrays all stages of the tribal people since the ages with their statue type of human beings and farming, animal loving and how they preserve the nature , family traditions and customs, food habits etc. It was displayed photos also. It has shopping complex of local handicrafts toys and other wooden, jute products to buy . Prices are on higher side. Entrance ticket also high. Children can enjoy as packaged game are available. Nice display of local site seeing pics. Food restaurant complex available inside the museum. Still can improve a lot as one can understand lot of commercial interests are there instead of travellers or tourist interests are ignoring as i personally experienced. Anyway all can enjoy.

This tribal museum is situated 200 metres away from Arakku bus stand. Many tribal handicrafts shops are available here. At the centre of this museum there is a well maintained pool which gives beauty to it. Almost all the shops are selling same type of ornaments, textiles handicrafts this is the weak point. Rest rooms are available inside but to be maintained better. Coffee shops available. Entry fee is 40 rupees for adults and 20 for children. Timing is 9am to 5pm. Not very much worth to visit. I wonder why they charge entry fee for selling their handicrafts.

My teen cousins had a blast using the swings and the see-saw and just for that - the visit to the Tribal Museum was worth it. I got to be a kid again with them too :D Our grandfather enjoyed looking at the life-sized models built to show how indigenous people go about their daily lives in their villages.

The Tribal Museum in Araku Valley is a very interesting place for tourists. It is a round shaped two storeyed museum. Very lively tableaux related to the subjects of daily living of tribals, social customs, ceremonies etc. have been displayed here in an effective manner. Here, very interesting information is available about the tribals of Andhra Pradesh, such as twenty tribes living mainly in which district and what occupation they are into, which festivals are celebrated by them, which Dances are prevalent there. These twenty tribes mainly reside in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and East Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. The tribals of these areas make their livelihood from occupations such as traditional farming, jhum farming, collecting non-timber wild products etc. In order to express their happiness on different occasions, different dances are performed by different tribes, in which the Dimsa dance is prominent. Modern facilities like boating and zipliners are also available for entertainment in the museum complex.

It is one of the acclaimed places to visit in Araku Valley. Araku Tribal Museum is located in the small town of Araku, around 110 km of Visakhapatnam. Unlike other museums, which house historical items, the Tribal Museum showcases the artifacts from tribal life. The 2 storey Tribal building is built using the traditional indigenous materials such as mud, metals, etc and showcases native tribal architecture in the form of colors, motifs, and frames used. The first floor of the red-colored rotund structure displays dioramas depicting tribal lifestyle, day-to-day kitchen utensils made of iron and mud, musical instruments, and wall paintings of market scenes and clay pottery. It exhibits local tribal dances of Mayur and Dhimsa from a range of festivals and life-sized figurines wearing vibrant clothing with matching accessories. The walls adorn the masks, and exotic artifacts belonging to the Tribal culture of Eastern Ghats. The second floor houses a souvenir shop and the Tribal Arts and Craft center. The center also houses 10 double rooms, public conveniences, and a cafeteria. Location: Araku, Andhra Pradesh, India Price: Entry Charges – Adults- Rs. 40, Kids – Rs.20. Timing: 10:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m. Best Time to Visit: October: March is considered the best time to visit Araku Tribal Museum, though the climate throughout the year remains pleasant and balmy.
