Om namo bhagavathe suryaya 🙏 This temple is around 3km from Srikakulam, you can board an auto to reach here, he will drop you infront of the main gate. The line will be literally very very long especially if you go on Sunday and some special days, it's better to take a ticket and have drashan instead of going in free darshan line, we can have darshan from inside of main temple. Overall it's a Nice Temple

It is one of the most famous Sun temple of ancient India. The vigrah of Surya Bhagwan was installed by Rishi Kashyap. Surya Bhagwan is flanked by his 2 consorts Usha and Chaya. Their vigrah are smaller than Surya. The present temple was built in 7th century. The architecture is typical Odiya style, and is painted white. There is also a Shiv temple in premises. 2 times in year Sunrays fall on the feet of Surya Vigrah. Lot of devotees visit on Sunday, Sankranti and other special days. It is in crowded area. Vehicles are to be parked nearby. There are shops lining up the lane selling religious items.

Please one of the powerful temples in Rajahmundry. The dirty Shri Shri Shri Satyanarayan Swami dwells on the hill top. You can have a beautiful view of the entire City from the hilltop. You can reach the top of the hill either through a vehicle on a Ghat road alternately you can choose to climb the well laid steps. If you choose them vehicle to reach they will talk you need to walk only a few steps. Independent upon the rush of devotees, you can either have general Darshan in case your in a Hari you can buy special tickets for Rs 200. Even on weekends when the duty is marginally high they darshan of the God can be completed in a couple of hours. Of course if you want to do any special pooja or Vrata, the ticket charges be higher at Rs.300 and also the time for the Vrata will be longer. It is believed that they dirty is very powerful grands all the wishes. Since the temple is on the national highway road is excellent and the accessibility objective is very comfortable.

The Aasavwlli Suryanarayana Temple sounds like a well-organized and maintained place of worship. It's great to hear that the queue for darshan is managed efficiently and that the surroundings are clean and tidy. However, it's essential to address concerns about limited parking space, especially for those with walking difficulties during their pilgrimage. Expanding or improving parking facilities could enhance the overall experience for visitors. Nonetheless, it's positive to know that the temple is taking steps to provide a pleasant environment for devotees.

This temple is one of the oldest sun temples in India. According to the history this temple was built by lord Krishna after he brought the Nagavalli river and Lord rudra & Goddess Parvati gets worshipped here. One day when Indra tries to enter the temple and Nandi won't let him and after that a fight Indra is badly injured and prays surya bhagawan, immediately he gets relieved from the pain and gets permission to enter the temple. In gratitude Indra builds a pushkarini at the place and it is called Indra Pushkarini !!! The place is well maintained and no need for special tickets unless you are going on any special days. Free Anna Prasada is provided here and one can take a bath in pushkarini, changing rooms and toilets are available.

Named to be the only operational sun temple in India, this place doesn't live up to the expectation or hype... looks like a very normal temple, although the actual deity seems very old, the temple structure which interestingly resembles orissa temples, seemed pretty simple and recently built or plastered.

Just a heaven . What a heavenly place .. Other than that ... What i felt is -maintenance outside the temple is required. -The streets are just not cleanse. -No great parking for the vehicles from mainroad entrance . - the guards near the entrance just doesn't have much training in how to deal with the devotees and their cars . He just denies but allows only localites cars inside the entrance .

Arasavalli Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple is a 7th-century AD Sun Temple at Arasavalli in Andhra Pradesh which is unique and most visited Pilgrimage Temples in India. It is situated in Arasavalli Village at a distance of 1 km east of Srikakulam Town. It is believed that the temple was built by king Devendra Varma, ruler of the Kalinga Dynasty. The temple is magnificent and beautiful reflecting the architectural skills of Vishwakarma Brahmins or Maharanas of Odisha. The temple is built in such a way that the early morning rays of the sun fall on the feet of the deity twice a year (Uttaraynam - March 9-11 and Dakshinayam - October 1-3), even when the 5 entrance gates are closed. According to Padmapuranam , Sage Kasyapa installed the Idol of Surya at Arasavalli for the Welfare of mankind . Therefore , the Surya is of Kasyapasa Gotra . He is also termed as planetary King . According to the ' Sthalapuranam ' of the temple, Lord Devendra found this temple and installed the existing idol of the sun God commonly known as Lord suryanarayana Swamy to get rid of severe injuries inflicted by Nandi deva. The temple has a beautiful idol of sun God with his three consorts Usha , Chaya and Padmini . At the base of the idols are the figures of Mathara and Pingala the Dwarapalakas and high up are the two divine saints , sanaka and sanadana holding 'Chatrams'(An Umbrella ). The Sun God is depicted as riding over a chariot drawn by Anura, the Radhasaradhy . All these figures are exquisitely carved out of a single black finely polished granite stone. Must have darshan.

One of my favourite temple in Srikakulam district, Arasavalli...Sun god..Sri Suryanarayana swamy vari devalayam... Temple was built by King devendra varma, ruler of the Kalinga dynasty in the 7th century. Many incarnations on the temple walls stood tall for its heritage and culture. On some auspicious days like Rathasapthami, temple is fully crowded by devotees of suryabhagawan. Some of the priests perform suryanamaskarams in a very devotional way.. According to sayings, on Uttarayanam and dakshinayam days even when all the doors of the temple are closed the sun rays enters the main garba gudi and falls on the feet of dietys idol... So people come here, worship God and fulfill their vows...Pls do visit once or twice in your lifetime and take blessings of Swamy...

Temple was soo good and sun raise touching the idel was my life time memory. That was an unexpected thing because it happens only yearly twice in the months of March and October which was not in our planned schedule. People can visit this temple any time from morning 6 am to 8 pm daily temple was closed from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Hotels near it is not that recommend. You can stay in Srikakulam which is 4 to 5 km away. Transportation is good but you will only find autos for means of transportation which are at very reasonable price.
