Photography is allowed inside the museum, I had a wonderful experience, in this well maintained & Air conditioned Museum. TU 142M Aircraft Museum opposite to the Kursura Submarine Museum. All informtion about the aircraft, safety systems, firing, bombing, etc is well explained by guide ( expert officers ) and shown here. Mobile phones or camera is allowed inside this museum. The real life aircraft was converted into a museum. Large well maintained museum. It is Russian in origin, an anti-submarine and surveillance, can detect the lowest noises such as that of nuclear powered submarines, underwater. TU-142M aircraft of Indian Navy is world’s heaviest and fastest flying turboprop aircraft. This Museum on the Ramakrishna( RK ) Beach Road near Kursura Submarine Museum.

Wonderful display about the aircraft. Goosebumps guarented... Place from outside looks just normal but when you go inside there is lot to see. Every details of the aircraft, everything that happens in it is shown there. There is display of how it destroys the targets with good representation. The engine and each and every part is safely secured and displayed. There is also honour board which displays all the medals that this aircraft got.... This is an masterpiece from the Indian Navy. Everyone would love and also the excitement is real..... Children would love this place.

Just amazing things to see and feel. Also one can acquire more knowledge about the aircraft design and it's history. You can get inside a plane model and can see all of it's parts which gives more detailed information about the machinery parts of it. Outside there is a beautiful garden. And the ticket price is also very low.

This place is full of fun, you can go there with your family and friends, this is not only a museum but also a knowledge and fun center, best time to go there is during evening, if you read the words provided you will feel proud of the Navy, the main attraction is the NAVY AIRCRAFT. This place is just opposite to the Submarine museum, when you are visiting this, visit both the places at the single evening.

TU 142 Aircraft Museum is a large exhibition hall which shows different parts of an aircraft i.e landing wheels, propeller, anti-submairne missle, black box, buoys, 3D Holography and name & history of different aircraft pilots. There is also a real Aircraft within the campus which is converted to a museum. Anyone can see the ins and outs of the aircraft in details. This place is also the best place to take picture with the aircraft. Really to say, this museum is just mesmerizing in acquire knowledge about aircraft in short.

My Google Review # 000218 Welcome aboard to get just a glimpse of our country's Naval warfare setup! Located along Beach Road, this is a unique, huge and clean museum setup completely using a de-commissioned figther plane and also the fighter submarine (on other side of the road).. There is an entry ticket to the place, but, it is worth every penny... They also offer audio phones which helps you smoothly guide through the entire place... You would get to know and to see real (decommissioned) missiles, boats, life jackets, rafts, parachutes and almost all of the gear used by our personnel... No doubt - army or navy - they stand tall and guard the nation. Icing on the cake is when you get to share a cockpit of the aircraft with the "dummy" pilot. Can take snaps with mobile phones. With DSLR's, there is a charge. The total time required to cover these sites without a haste would be nothing less than 2 hours. A must visit location for Navy freaks, Defence lovers and especially for our children... And yes, if exhausted, do try out the local icecream being sold on the carts outside the museum. Date of Experience # April 2018

Other than that, the museum also features VR Games at its exit point..

TU 142 is a great aircraft of those times that the Navy had. It's wonderful to have such a museum in the city. Not many places in India have aircraft on display. It's great to know about how these aircraft look or are even designed. This is one of the must visit for any tourist in the city. A lot can be learnt about fighter aircraft via this museum. The wings of the aircraft are almost bigger than the entire length of the aircraft itself.

Beautiful place to visit. It's a naval carrier/ bomber aircraft museum. Tupolov was a great bomber during 2nd world war, Russian made, an answer to the American B2 bomber, later introduced into Indian Navy and served till 70s,used in 71 Bangladesh war. Got obsolete thereafter because of it's massive size, great wingspans, lesser speed and difficult manuevering, propeller based 4 engine, which made it a easy prey to jet propelled high speed fighters and ground to air missile and AAG. Tupolov was used in Indian Navy mainly for sea surveillance. Nevertheless, a good gallery of explanation of how it worked, can get inside the plane to see the things that was in actual. Another good attraction for kids are the VR animation center

I was in awe at what I had seen here. My experience to such a topic was limited to what I had gathered from movies or the luxurious economy class we travel in flights. This is so hi-tech. Salute to the pilots and crew who flew this and had fought wars in this. This machine just shows what humans are capable of. It makes you feel very insignificant in what we doing.

Inside of the museum , a big aircraft 142 is built up to gave some real directions towards the aircraft. Aircraft have fascinated me since my childhood. Getting a first hand look at TU 142 aircraft, also known as the ‘Bear’ by NATO and ‘Albatross’ by the Indian Navy due to its long wingspan was indeed an overwhelming feeling. This maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft is a Soviet/Russian maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft derived from the Tu-95 turboprop strategic bomber. The aircraft was decommissioned after serving 29 years with the Indian Navy by completing 30,000 hours of accident-free flying by the time of its retirement on 29 March 2017 at INS Rajali Arakkonam. Loved cockpit the most but wasn’t allowed to take pictures. #Albatross #Bear #TU142M #Aircraft #BeastOfAMachine #StrategicBomber #FormidableForce #Speed #Stealth #InductedIn1988 #IndianNavy #29YearsOfService #30000Hours #MustVisit #Museum

A museum which is inaugurated very recently compared to all the other places in the city... Gives the tour and the historical achievements of the team and the aircraft over its service period... The museum gives a tour of the life of officers working for and with the aircraft at war and rescue missions... We can also have a look at the officers who worked on the aircraft in their uniforms worn by mannequins... There's also a demo flight control seat on display along with a lot of torpedoes, bouys, rafts, parachutes and their rescue uniforms... The tour of the aircraft gives an idea of the insides and the working of personnel on the fighter along with the cargo bay, camera, pilots, radar operators, etc... One of my top recommendations to visit if you ever be to visakhapatnam... The maintenance is also really good...

This is located near RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, I would say it is a good place to visit for any age group. It's an exhibition of TU 142 a Soviet Russian anti submarine warfare aircraft which is now not being used. In this museum you get to see different firearms used in this aircraft, few info on different positions in Navy, their uniform, the gallantry awards. The engine placed in the museum is also a must watch. You get to go into the aircraft, see the aircraft, how officers sit and control the warplane. The ticket price is 70rs for Adults and I feel if you are at Visakhapatnam you can have a visit to this place and a few more museums nearby and also spend time on the beach.

Right exactly opposite to another museum (Submarine Museum Kursura) this Bomber Aircraft was installed very recently. I always wanted to become a Pilot and for some reasons I do something else for living, this aircraft gave me an aopportunity to understand fly men's life. It was an actual aircraft, brought to Visakhapatnam after decommissioning and made it available for public. On a nice evening at RK beach, you could just grab some local snacks and visit it with friends or family. Trust me, you won't be bored and you'll start respecting the defense forces. Good luck!

A place dedicated to the Indian Naval Aviation Wing. It is an aircraft museum where a Tu 142 Albatross has been kept on display. Apart from the aircraft there are many more informative things related to Indian Navy and Aviation in the museum. If in Vizag, do visit the Aircraft Museum.
