My family moved from California to Hawaii about a year ago and just about gave up on Mexican food here on the Island. Our kids were in tears of how good the burritos are and brought joy to know we have bit of comfort food from home. Hands down the best! Thank you! We are hooked.

Lots of menu options and the veggie bowl was ok. The two star review is due to very poor customer service (not greeted, given incorrect info, overall in restaurant experience, and mostly for a rude and unprofessional email I received after trying to provide feedback privately via email before posting on a public platform). The owner is not at all interested in feedback. The burrito and bowls were both small for the price. The burrito had little flavor. The side of rice and beans were also small and very little flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not return.

I've had Mexican food in Mexico, Baja, Southern California (where i'm from) and many other locales. There are a number of options in Kona but Patricios is possible the best mexican restaurant in Kona. While their food is good it's not at the pinnacle of Mexican cuisine. I have probably eaten here 20+ times over the years. I really like how they have interesting real mexican cuisine options like pozole (soup), mole, and sopas. This is rad for a fast casual restaurant. Their drink options are great with a regular stock of horchata and plenty of canned alcoholic options as well as frozen margaritas. Favorites: Chimichanga Chile Relleno Burrito Horchata The speed of service is good and the dining space is fine. This is a good Kona vegetarian restaurant option as they can do many of their burritos and other things with beans and veggies instead of the meat option.

Have been on the big island for 3 years. The most authentic homemade-feeling Mexican food that I've ever had on the island :)

I ordered the pork tamales and they were just average. They have a "limit one" refill policy and no public restrooms. Seating is tight and it is difficult to get a party of more than four seated together. We also ordered a $7 chips and salsa without realizing that two small cups of salsa were included with each entree. It would have been nice if this was spelled out by the cashier when we placed the order. Additionally, tortilla chips are a low cost item that typically uses leftover or stale tortillas. When you are paying $13 for food served on a paper plate they should be complementary.

I've eaten at hundreds of different Mexican restaurants on the mainland and in Mexico. I've never had a Mexican restaurant's rice with peas and carrots before or items made with American cheeses, which they serve here. The rice had no flavor. I've also never had carne asada meat that was diced and not shredded. The carne asada was also very salty and without any true flavor of spices. We ordered 2 burritos, a chile relleno, enchiladas, chips, and salsa. The best thing about what we ordered was maybe the salsa, and that's it. We're not going back here again.

I don't want to hate on it, so let me preface with: I frequently eat Mexican food from Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. 1. Their salsa was great. Tasted close to my own homemade salsa 2. Their guac was pretty good 3. Spouse got a 3-taco plate that he enjoyed But I was disappointed that they used store-bought tortillas instead of homemade/handmade. And amused that the table of Hispanic gentlemen next to us apologized to their table mates in Spanish, calling it "gringo food". That probably summed up my experience.

I found the food rather bland and uninteresting. I had the “Pollo Mexicano Burrito” which is supposed to have “Mexican Spices”, but it didn’t have mmuch or any this time. Otherwise, the place is clean and nice to sit down and eat, and the selection is wide and not expensive.

I ordered the ground beef burrito and in the middle of eating I found raw uncooked beef. I wouldn’t leave a bad review for that alone, if it weren’t for the manager denying that it could be raw because they cook the entirety of their ground beef for the entire day in the morning and that they cook it with tomatoes, so it must’ve been tomatoes I was seeing. I am 9 weeks pregnant and very annoyed that on top of accidentally consuming raw meat, I was gaslit and treated like an idiot who doesn’t know the difference between raw beef and a tomato. I left the pic I took to let you guys decide for yourselves. Not to mention that it was so poorly wrapped that it fell apart when I tried to open to foil, and the chips were stale. We will not be coming back here.

Stopped in for happy hour today. $4 bottle beers! My wife had chicken taquitos and I had mexican fries. Large portions and the food was delicious. Sat in a booth that was very comfortable. There's also plenty of parking. We'll be back!

Recently stopped here for dinner with 3 other people and we all ordered different things. We stayed on the big island for a few days - travelling from Australia. Everyone loved what they ordered and I’m so glad we went here. Food was very tasty, authentic Mexican flavours and reasonable prices.

I'm from Los Angeles. This place is better than most there and OC. I had the Carne Asada burrito. The meat is nicely marinated with garlic and citrus you can taste. The whole beans melt in your mouth. And the rice has tons of flavor. Also all the sauces are soo delicious.

Made a pit stop here before flying home back to SoCal.. and let me say this.. surprisingly better than expected. This is as good as it can get to authentic tasting Mexican food. If we ever get the chance to come back to the big island, we will visit here again.

Good food and a great sunset view. Good place to stop after the airport if you're on the way to Hilo.

I love Patricio's Taqueria — authentic food of good quality; and, the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm back in Mexico with the swanky music played inside. You can also get fantastic Mexican beer like Modelos of all flavors (ice cold from the bottle)! Order for pickup and ready in 10-15 minutes! Patricio's is conveniently located on the Queen K Hwy and easy to get to driving from the north or south... check it out! Always good!

The service was alright. The lady at the counter wasn't too keen on us making alterations in the form of removing items, such as onions, from items in our order. The food arrived quickly, but the Carne asada in the tacos we recieved was so oily that one person in our group only took a few bites of one taco and only ate the rice and beans on their plate.

Somewhat disappointed with the quantity of food. I ordered fish tacos and that usually contains 3 soft tacos, my order contained 2. Each tacos barely contained 2 tiny pieces of fish with a lot of lettuce, coleslaw and dressing. We ordered 2 margaritas and they were served in tiny 6oz cups (at least that's what they appeared to be!) They were almost $22 dollars for both!! I really wanted to give 2 stars but the food quality was there. I walked away hungry.

Good stuff. It was pretty busy at the start of lunch rush, and they had just had a massive pick-up order, but our food came out quickly, and it was well made. The chili relleno plate was good. The nachos were good. It lost a food star because we ordered beef nachos and got none. Edit: The owner has replied to me. I have been corrected and thus retracted my comment about the price of the soda, so they got 1 star back for food. I have retracted two stars from service for the inappropriate tone of the owner and how they have talked down to me and defended themselves instead of offering any sort of apology for messing up my order. Most people understand basic economics. Everyone knows things are more expensive in Hawaii.

Best Mexican food I've had in HI. As good as the good taco stands in So. Cal. and Baja. Tamales are just like the ones on the side of the road south of Ensenada. Hot sauce is excellent.

I have a feeling I just got the wrong thing... I got a torta with carnitas. I love tortas. It lacked toppings a bit but that really wasn't the issue. The Ciabatta bread that it came on was so hard that I couldn't bite through it.. I got maybe two bites in and I'm a person with a large mouth and strong jaw; but I had to give up. My wife wouldn't have even stood a chance at biting through just a corner of the bread. Anyways; I just put the sandwich meat and toppings onto the tortilla chips and made some nachos. Which tasted pretty good to be honest. My wife got the Empinadas and they were very tasty. If I make it back I will give them another try. But for now; I'd just say to stay away from the torta. Not up to par compared to the many I've had in the past. Other than the food issue; the place was very clean and comfortable and prices were reasonable for the island.

$19 for 24oz beer, 2 tacos and beens + rice! What a deal and the al pastor with pineapple was *french kiss*

Order at the counter Mexican spot. The food here is consistently good. Personal favorites are the veggie nachos and veggie chimichanga. The rice has great flavor as well! I personally like the horchata, but I’ve had two friends both not care for it saying it doesn’t taste like true Horchata. Maybe I don’t know what it’s supposed to be like, but I think it’s yummy!

Great place for some great Mexican food. The tacos were absolutely delicious, as well as the mango slushee. Restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. Well worth a stop by when you’re in town.

We got the taco plate with chips and salsa. Amazing favor on the steak and the salsa. Definitely recommend, even when you’re in a hurry. Fast service!

I’m from California and I actually think this is pretty good quality authentic Mexican food for Hawaii. Tamale meat was kinda dry but once I added salt and salsa it was bomb!

Disappointed. Was not that good. The tortillas seemed old. Where is the beef? I got a beef burrito and had beans and tomatoes. Maybe a little bit of onions and corn? Guess not going and not recommending.

Amazing legit Mexican food (lived in LA for a decade, I know good Mexican when I eat it.) Great chili verde burritos, friendly staff. I go pretty much weekly when I crave it. Homemade hot sauce is legit too.

Ordered chicken quesadilla and chose the spicy salsa. Absolutely amazing, especially for $13.
