(Translated by Google) The monument to space explorers is a unique monument located in the memorial park near the VDNKh metro station, the second tallest among Russian monuments. The famous “rocket” was launched on October 4, 1964, on the seventh anniversary of the launch of Sputnik-1, the first artificial Earth satellite. The monument is made in the form of a rocket soaring upward, behind which a long plume of exhaust gases stretches from the ground, and plays the role of a stylized obelisk in honor of the USSR - a power that opens up space for the whole world.

(Translated by Google) This 11-meter rocket soared in 1964 to a height of 107 meters. A plume of gas glitters with titanium plates. In the project it should be trimmed with smoky glass with night illumination, probably, it would look very unusual. For more than thirty years, it was the highest monument in Russia, until a Georgian named Zurab Tseriteli first tried to create Peter I, and then installed a copy of a 148 m high bayonet on Poklonnaya Hill (Original)

Another beautiful monument in Moscow!! The space conquerers monument is quite spectacular as there isn't much else around it, just a massive open square. It makes it really impressive and makes you feel small. Must have been the aim of the architect all along I'd say.

(Translated by Google) The monument was installed in 1964. Its height is 107 meters, higher than the Motherland and Tsaritelevsky Peter. It is believed that Korolev himself took part in the finalization of the project. It was he who suggested placing a space museum on the stylobate, and revealing the sculpture with titanium plates ... If you are fascinated by the history and achievements of space exploration, you should not miss the Monument to the Conquerors of Space in Moscow. This impressive monument is a giant obelisk that resembles a rocket soaring into the sky on a trail of smoke. It is made of titanium and stands at 107 meters (351 feet) tall, with a 77-degree incline. It was erected in 1964 to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the launch of Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite in orbit. The monument also honors the pioneers and heroes of the Soviet space program, such as Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space, and Sergey Korolyov, the chief designer of rockets and spacecrafts. You can see their statues and reliefs at the base of the monument, along with other scientists and cosmonauts who contributed to the advancement of space science and technology. The monument is located outside the main entrance of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (VDNKh), a large park and exhibition center that showcases various aspects of Soviet culture and industry. You can easily reach the monument by taking the metro to the VDNKh station. The monument is also surrounded by other space-themed attractions, such as the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, which is located inside the base of the monument and displays many artifacts and exhibits related to space exploration. You can also visit the Cosmonauts Alley, which features busts of Soviet cosmonauts, and the Korolyov Memorial Museum, which is the former residence of Sergey Korolyov. The Monument to the Conquerors of Space is a stunning and inspiring sight that celebrates the achievements and aspirations of humanity in reaching for the stars. It is a testament to the courage and creativity of the Soviet people who made history in space

(Translated by Google) The cosmonaut alley between the northern and southern entrances of the VDNKh metro station appeared in 1967 and was timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite. In essence, the alley is a pedestrian street, decorated with monuments to outstanding figures of Soviet cosmonautics. The alley ends with the obelisk "Conquerors of Space". More precisely, it begins, because the obelisk was opened in 1964.

Looking at the towering monument, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the space race is still very much alive. Rising on a 350-foot high plume of smoke and condensation, the Monument to the Conquerors of Space commemorates Yuri Gagarin’s 1961 orbit of earth and the Soviet Union’s preeminence in outer space. Three years before Gagarin ever began orbit, plans for the monument were already in progress. As evidence of the importance of showmanship in the space race, the Soviet Union planned to erect an obelisk commemorating their space dominance just months after Sputnik launched. After sifting through hundreds of proposals, they chose the massive obelisk, and construction on the titanium pillar was completed in 1964. Blasting into the sky and capped with a rocket, the monument towers over stone reliefs of scientists and cosmonauts working to improve the Soviet space program. Along with the monument, the site is also home to the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, an interactive museum chronicling Russia’s journey into the unknown.

(Translated by Google) The huge building of the hotel where we are housed overlooks the park of the Russian Exhibition Center which occupies 300 hectares and is the former exhibition of the achievements of the Soviet economy. In front of the main entrance and in front of our windows is the Monument to the Conquerors of Space, a 107-meter-high titanium-coated steel arrow. The monument was built in 1964 to celebrate the conquest of the Soviet people in space exploration. The work is by A. P. Fajdis Krandievskij. The base of the monument houses the Museum of Cosmonauts an interesting collection dedicated to the history of flight and exploration, astronomy and space technology. Not far away, an arch crowned by a sculptural group representing a worker and a Kolkosian, opens onto the park. Inside the park, well-kept gardens and numerous fountains. In the middle of the green stands the Ostankino tower. Completed in 1967, it measures 540 meters in height. the tower is one of the symbols of the North-Eastern District of Moscow and is owned by the Russia Television and Radio Broadcasting Network.
