We stopped at Deo Resta for the last night of our holiday; and it it was a perfect choice to end a wonderful trip. Lizel and Willie are amazing hosts, super welcoming and helpful. Our modern family room was ideal for 2 adults and a child. The bonus was that our daughter quickly made friends with the host children and had the full run of the farm surroundings. Willie also kindly filled up my 40 litre tank from his borehole. Last, but not least, are the amazing breakfasts prepared by Lizel! Having stayed in the nearby town before, we will only book at Deo Resta from now on; and recommend this wonderful family to anyone.

There are só much to mention about the excellence of the accommodation and the friendly and professional service of the owners, Willie and Lizel. You have to experience it yourself, you wouldn’t be disappointed. The best breakfast I have ever eaten and I have been to many guest houses. Deo Resta is a must for everyone who need accommodation near Piet Retief, quiet and surrounded by nature.

We loved staying here! The location — a former schoolhouse in a town once visited by young Queen Elizabeth II — is fascinating, and the location away from the city is peaceful and quiet. The owners have taken great care with the property, creating verdant lawns dotted by flowering shrubs and orange trees. The lovely room we stayed in was the family room, and it was large, cozy, and comfortable. We appreciated the thoughtful touches in the room provided by Lizel, who also made us a delicious breakfast the next morning. Lizel and her husband have done an amazing job restoring the property and its structures, as seen in before and after photos. Lizel’s kindness even extended to sharing her bobotie recipe with me! I highly recommend this unique stay just a few kilometers from Piet Retief.

Beautiful suroundings, quiet and tranquil. Perfect location for exploring the area or having a good rest of a travel route. The breakfast was also worth every bite.

After a long day on the road for work, this was a lovely refreshing experience. Everything and everyone was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and clean. There is enough coffee! Loved it. Will most definitely visit here again. Being away from your family for work is always tearing at a mothers heart. But the beauty and effort put into this place made the trip lovely and comfortable. Thank you Liezel and Willie and family.

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful clean rooms, bedding and bathrooms. A stunning and peaceful scenery. Wonderful, welcoming hosts! A delicious, wholesome breakfast. Could not ask for more. I just loved our stay here! This will now be a regular pit-stop for myself and my family.

What an amazing place, you feel like one of there family. Every thing is spot less and comfortable will definatley stay again. Breakfast was amazing. And all the Briaa coals they supply makes it easy from a long day on the road.
