Pavlov's House was a fortified apartment building which Red Army defenders held for 60 days against a heavy Wehrmacht offensive during the Battle of Stalingrad. The siege lasted from 27 September to 25 November 1942 and eventually the Red Armymanaged to relieve it from the siege. It gained its popular name from Sergeant Yakov Pavlov, who commanded the platoon that seized the building and defended it during the long battle.

Look at Pavlov's House. Close your eyes and imagine how torn shells and whistling bullets. Are going to attack the Soviet soldiers. German soldiers also fight to the death. the house goes under the control of one or the other. what courage it takes to take every step. step towards death. I can't imagine that. maybe you can do it...

Most memorable place in Volgograd. It speaks about great Pavlov. There're vehicles which are used in second world war. Mostly made in Germany and Russia. And visitor can see the scenes of mighty second world war.

iv'e heard stories about pavlov's house, like how at night the tracer fire from the building was so intense it turned night to day and how the german commander sent an entire panzer division to destroy the defenders but they saw them coming, the germans codenamed it castle

This is where you smell the history, where you see it vividly in your imagination. So nice that they kept it as a museum without touching it.
